This Offer is too expensive!!! Why would i want to buy an Offer at a forward PE of 29x, when i can get quality companies off the Floor at 5x PEs with over 10% dividend yields ![]() Chairman, justify that! Have a great day! |
VISAFONE, JIM OVIA'S BABY, This new telecomms player in the vibrant CDMA market is about rolling out its services to the Nigerian market, and one of its initial key selling point is the Dual Sim phone which combines a CDMA network and GSM network in one. However, just last week, Reltel Wireless and Starcomms launched their own Dual-Sim phones, with Reltel's selling for as low as N15,000. Although this can be seen as a benefit of competition, what does this portend for the success of Visafone's entry into the market ![]() Let's share views and opinions on this subject matter.

What do y'al think of our dear President's reversal of the sale of NITEL to Transcorp? Aparently, it seems all he seems to know how to do is keep on undoing the doings of his predecessor. Let me (us) know your opinion on this our President and his questionable actions. What effect will this single action have on Transcorp's share price, considering the fact that it has been rising of recent without any justifiable reason. HOLAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!

Hey all, i'm sorry for not replying this thread in a while. Internet is a scarce privilege in school. As for the info she had for me, she asked that we break up, stating such reasons as: -i'm graduating, -distance (she stays in Abuja, and i stay in Lagos), and some other reasons. However, after 9 days that i shunned her for all it was worth, she came back saying she wanted to get in back on the relationship. However, i couldn't agree to that, as the distance was also an issue for me so i'd rather we faced our reality now than postpone it to another day. I said i'd rather we just be friends. So that's it guys. That's what she wanted to talk to me about. But don't worry, i'm as good as ever. I await your replies on this thread. HOLA!!! Flint. |
Hey all, its Saturday today, and guess what?? She couldn't make it to my place for some genuine reason. Sorry to disappoint y'al who'd been waiting to hear what she had to say, But heyy!!! we both going to skul tomorrow so, best bet, she'll have to spill either tomorrow or the next. Don't worry, i'll keep y'al posted ok!! Enjoy this lil suspense!!!!!!!!! Flint. |

I wonder what's up?? I've been going out with this girl for two years in school and i'll be graduating by April. Last semester is about to commence, and she sends me a message over the weekend saying she wants to talk about us?? And i call her and she says she'd rather talk about it looking me in the eye and i'm like heyheyhey, wats up She hasn't told me what she's got on her mind even after serious persuasions over the phone yet, but she will on Saturday. What do i do o Does she want to break up is the ultimate question on my mind. I need advice from y'all out there who have been in my shoes before. Flint. |
@ 4play I think it is a rather apparent risk facing any company in Nigeria i.e. political risk. This risk doesn't face Transcorp alone; but then, we view this as a great risk to the success of Transcorp because of the political favoritism it gets from the current-soon-to-go dispensation. Hence, political risk among many other risks that you can check out int their prospectus, challenge the success of Transcorp. Flint. |
Frankikiri is just right. DO NOT BUY TRANSCORP IF YOU CAN'T WAIT FOR THREE YEARS MINIMUM cos this company is one more or less just starting off and they still got a long way to go with reaping good returns from their investments. Flint. |
Kindly check the other one two slots below this one, |
IBTC, Vetiva Capital Management, Sterling Capital, Chapel Hill, FutureView, BGL Securuties, UBA Global Markets, Union Capital Markets, they are many!!!!! I bet y'all have noticed the loads of public offers that have thronged the Nigerian market place over the last 2 - 3 years. For a public offer to take place, one of the major initiators are the ISSUING HOUSES. Issuing houses in Nigeria are legion; but then, some are perceived better that others on various grounds such as: public perception, value of offer done, years in the business, quality and performance of the company e.t.c. Here on nairaland, i'll like to know which issuing house we feel is the best in Nigeria, and please give your reasons. I've add a poll so that we all can participate objectively in this interesting ranking and possibly even award the issuing house that comes tops with something from us. Flint.

@ KDK Mr KDK, kindly put us in the know of the basis of your saying Transcorp is overpriced, Flint. |
Please find attached, Transcorp application form and teaser memorandum. Flint. |

Yea, there is a transcorp IPO open, and it ends about 1st week in February. Flint, |
FOR ALL THOSE LOOKING FOR THE APPLICATION FORMS AND PROSPECTUS, ITS ADVISABLE YOU MONITOR VETIVA'S WEBSITE - www.vetiva.com. It has not been uploaded by the company yet, but then, i guess it will be done in due course. Also monitor www.transcorpnigeria.com pending when they upload these vital investment documents on their website. Urs, Flint.

WAPCO, NB and DBL?? For what reasons OSHKOSH?? As far as i am concerned, WAPCO is kinda overpriced. And i think investors in 2007 should really make use of ther PE index to guide their investment decisions in terms of appropriate price. And like i think i mentioned earlier in my last post, Diamond Bank has one of the lowest PE's in its sector and thus makes a good buy tomorrow. I aint a good follower of the breweries sector so i cant really say much about NB. Flint, |
Of course i know there is IPOD video, but the thing is i need a 1G nano as a gift for someone. D'u digg?? So anyone out there with helpful knowledge?? Time is of the essence to me o!!! |
Hey nazzyon, i think the .50k reflects the par value of the shares being offered to the public. For example, Transcorp offering 8billion ord shares of .50k each implies a par value of N4billion (i.e. you multiply the 8billion units by the .50k). Hence if the par value is .50k, and they are offering shares at a price of N7.50, it means they are offering it at a premium of N7.00. However, the shares are actually being offered at a discount, if you compare it with the current market price (which has been placed on technical suspension b'cos of the PO). If there is ny1 more knowledgeable on this issue, kindly help nazzyon!! Cheers, Flint. |
Hey y'al, where can one purchase the cheapest IPODS?? In particular, IPOD NANO of 1G or 2G, preferrably on the island?? tnx, Flint.
