OfBiafra: Let's remain focused on the main issue and not compound the issue with other arguments or snide remarks.
Now, in your own words, Nigeria has over 300 tribes, the issue in question is how do they identify as a larger group.
Northerners - Arewa Westerners - Oduduwa Easterners - Biafra, lower Niger, Niger-delta, South-south etc
The sooner we former Easterners (Biafrans) Unite as a single unit the earlier our exit from this shameful contraption.
By the way, your list of otherwise thriving multi-ethnic countries was not well thought out. Listing African countries as 'working' in anysense is a cruel joke. While at least three of the other six countries you mentioned fought bloody wars to become more homogeneous entities - you go figure.
OfBiafra Your ramble did not address the points. Both the North and the South West are for one indivisible Nigeria. They are prepared to go to war for Nigeria to remain one. 98% of South South are against Biafra and do not support it.
What you want is Igbo country made up of 5 landlocked states surrounded entirely by Nigeria. You don't stand snowball's chance in Hell.
Neither Ghana, South Africa, Kenya etc, nor Russia, Canada, UK etc are homogeneous. They have dominant ethnic groups without the usual Ibo discordant chorus to break up Nigeria along tribal lines. Nigeria has already fought a bloody war to remain one and is willing to do so again.
In your best interest and that of your tribe, forget this pipe-dream of Ibo own country! Nigeria is here to stay and will be after you. |

atlwireles: 07.23.15 Reaction Of Senator Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) To Nigerian President Buhari’s Mis-Directed Criticism Of The Leahy Law On Human Rights
“It is well documented by the State Department and by respected human rights organizations that Nigerian army personnel have, for many years, engaged in a pattern and practice of gross violations of human rights against the Nigerian people and others, including summary executions of prisoners, indiscriminate attacks against civilians, torture, forced disappearances and rape. Rarely have the perpetrators been prosecuted or punished.
“This abusive conduct not only violates the laws of war, it creates fear and loathing among the Nigerian people whose support is necessary to defeat a terrorist group like Boko Haram.
“President Buhari ignores the undisputed fact that most Nigerian army units have been approved, under the Leahy Law, for U.S. training and equipment. Only those particular units against which there is credible evidence of the most heinous crimes are ineligible for U.S. aid. And even those units can again become eligible if the Nigerian Government takes effective steps to bring the responsible individuals to justice.
“I strongly agree with President Buhari about the need to defeat Boko Haram, and I have supported tens of millions of dollars in U.S. aid to Nigeria for that purpose. But rather than suggest that the United States is at fault for not funding murderers and rapists in the Nigerian military, he should face up to his own responsibility to effectively counter Boko Haram. He should direct his attention to the Nigerian military, and the Nigerian courts, and clean up the units implicated in such atrocities.”

john124: biafrans, you guys should think twice on your desperate agitation for your independence and freedom. There's hardly anyone i have met (physically here in ph, akwa ibom and calabar) that disagrees with the disintegration of the celebrated 100 years amalgamation of Nigeria, the country was a test experiment by lord lugard the political scientist but it was a long duration experiment too long that the scientist didn?t see the end product. i support the disintegration of Nigeria (i don?t hate any tribe) but not in the way nnamdi kanu wants it this can be done peacefully by negotiating and by legal actions put in place by all SE and SS leader (which i doubt) to the national assembly floor. Although nnamdi kanu is exceptional but he is arrogant. One thing is for sure no biafran threads makes it way to fp (i trust lasticlala on that one. War is not the key and there will be no war in nigeria anymore. Nnamdi was once a massob chieftain but he later had a misunderstanding with ralph uwazuiruike and formed ipob in 2011 according to kanu he extracted money from his account and opened radio biafra kanu was later kidnapped by massob in 2012 and was interrogated by the police. Massob was just after their pockets so was mend and the militants. Two pastors predicted the disintegration of nigeria in 2014 and 2015 by war The way these so-called biafrans are pre-occupied with dividing Nigeria, you would think that it is a cake or the only multi-ethnic country on earth. Far from it: South Africa, Ghana, Angola, Kenya, India, China, Russia, Pakistan Brazil, etc., have different nationalities living side by side and striving to build one country despite their differences. In Nigeria, the tribal bigotry of the igbos is not only their undoing and marginalization, it is becoming an irritant, a bug that should be squeezed under the toe and not listened to anymore. Good riddance to bad rubbish! |

Ikengawo: I've noticed that they're selective. At their best they reach Kaduna, Kano and Plat., at their worst they're stuck on Borno, Yobe, and Adamawa, but they never reach Sokoto and Katsina. Even Zamafara.
Part of solving the problem is understanding it. What makes those particular states different and how can this difference be adapted by the other states to avoid bombing. Northerners, you're usually quiet on this board and call it cite it as a good thing but at this point your silence isn't working. The rest of us would like to know, unless you yourself don't know. At that point we all have to investigate for answers.
Does anyone have a reason for this? You want to know why boko haram don't kill more innocent civilians in other places apart from the carnage already wreaked is a morbid interest in death. Boko Haram has limit and its reach in terms of men and material is not global or limitless. |

Asking for accountability of the past is not witch-hunting by PMB but attribute of responsible government.
There is no need to set up unnecessary bureaucratic panel to probe straight-forward issues of depleted ECA and Ferderation Account.
The present panel hopes to present their findings within one month.
Already confessions are being made by Okonjo of GEJ asking her to withdraw from ECA without FAAC approval.
So progress is being made and to halt the work of this panel now is uncalled for but a smokescreen to sweep the matter under the carpet. |
