This Chimamanda woman is a hardcore tribalist.. so if every one decides to support their tribesman, how will any of the candidates emerge as President?. If Northerners decide to queue behind their own and SW Yorubas decide to rally round their own, where will Obi get votes from or the national spread to win election? Kenneth Okonkwo is free to work for whosever he chooses, it's allowed in a democracy. |
Atiku should go and rest biko.. He ran from PDP so likes of Wike, Anyanwu et al. won't defeat him, he had to lure Obi to the ADC to tie him down and take over his 0bid.ient mob ahead of 2027. |
Buhari contested severally without success, he had given up till PBAT rebranded him and made him win. Nobody would have known Boss Mustapha or late Kyari who were busy bossing over Buhar's cabinet when PBAT was sidelined and left with nothing.. now some people with short memory are asking why PBAT is appointing Yorubas and not dancing to the tune of Buhari's crew. |
Until I see an Olawale or Adewunmi contesting for LGA chairmanship in Anambra, Imo and likes., I won't take this serious. You can't ask for what you don't give others.. Local Government is grassroot and Yorubas must not toy with such delicate position for any reason whatsoever. |
Igbos stand to gain nothing from so called 'Igbo president', it's only few among politicians of Igbo extraction that will benefit from appointments, contracts etc., and enrich themselves. The best approach is to have regional development commissons to cater for needs of each and every region |
PBAT is a visionary leader.. most high brow areas in Lagos are built on water (reclaimed through sand filling). Those criticizing him out of envy and tribalism can't stay in their home States.. it's Tinubu's Lagos they are all running to. You want sensible Nigerians to leave a man with development blueprint and master plan for packaged fraud with no achievements to him name.. you guys need to get checked |
This Minister of Interior is really working.. this is the kind of person we should consider for President in the near future, not all the 'old youths' disturbing our political space. |
Lanretoye:It doesn't work that way.. some LGAs in South West, North Central and North East are bigger than some States in South East. Take Ibadan for example.. Ibadan is equivalent to 3 South East States combined..Then Oyo State is like 5 South East States put together. Let me not even go to Niger State which is like x3 the size of entire South East region. Truth is that we can't have equal States in all the regions, as far as the goal is for sustainable development. |
Chidibe212:Obi won't get the coalition ticket ahead of Atiku, El-rufai or even Amaechi, that is the raw truth. There won't be consensus candidate in ADC and Atiku made it clear, unlike what Abure did in LP making Obi the consensus candidate of LP in 2023. Your Obi doesn't have the financial war chest to pay delegates in dollars during ADC primaries in 2026, so how can he emerge flag bearer of the coalition?. Politics is direct.. no level of mago mago can make any politician emerge victorious over those that have done their homework. |
See kindergarten politics from a so called LP chieftain.. moreover, who told him Obi won in 2023? Our security agencies should be up and doing.. all these false information peddlers ought to be arrested and prosecuted in court. |
Even a Northerner can't win PBAT in 2027 because it's the turn of South for 8 years, just like North had with Buhari. |
Who do you want to support before if not Atiku?. .. Obi ain't getting any coalition ticket in 2027, know this and know peace. |
It baffles me how the so called Niger Delta ex-militants and activists usually turn blind eye to the attrocities of their leaders in South South, but are quick to blame other tribes especially Yorubas (who are even at a disadvantage with the current arrangement) for their misfortunes. When will Asari pass comment on the trillions of naira missing from NDDC, or the 4 billion monthly payment to Amaechi's wife for 12 months?. There is a certain Ankio Briggs that loves going on air to cast aspersions on Yorubas and Northern people while leaving out her own corrupt brothers and sisters in the Niger-Delta region. |
Kukutente23:The guy would have made it big time had it been he didn't relocate.. see likes of Asake, Tems, Burna Boy etc. making good music at the comfort of their home (Nigeria). |
Eyah.. Dotman one of my favorite musicians. 'k'ori ma ma fo iyawo mi o eh'. Very talented guy. |
These people no just get sense.. is it someone like Atiku or David Mark they want to bully?.. Obi no get level where those two men dey. Fact! I know Obi has agreed to be running mate to Atiku.. his followers are yet to come to terms with it. |
CoronaVirusPro:This is the "political will" to end insecurity in Nigeria we have been talking about.. not some ones who showed no concern about lives of Nigerians, all they are after is to win election. |
God bless PBAT and all well meaning Nigerians .. the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria has given the go ahead for the Military to neutralize terrorists and bandits without delay. Nigeria shall rise again. |
FACTS ABOUT THE POLITICAL LANDSCAPE OF NIGERIA 1. North knows the political and economic value of South West and South South. 2. North always avoid direct confrontation with Yorubas in order not to strain the political friendship. Even when M.K.O Abiola died and South West went into frenzy mode, they pacified SW with presidency. 3. North knows Yorubas are worthy allies.. they know Yorubas support made Buhari president for 8 years.. not Igbos nor other tribes support. 4. PBAT will be re-elected in 2027.. take this to the bank. Allow igbos to be running from pillar to post with fake alliance and coalition. The same El-rufai and co. they insulted for ousting GEJ have suddenly turned their beloved politicians. |
@OP Well written article.. you understand the power play in Nigeria well. The core North won't jeopardize their chances in 2031, reason they'll support PBAT to complete 8 years. Forget all the fanfare you're seeing in the media, Northerners like El-rufai detest anything Igbo, they know the Igbos can't be trusted so any ticket with Atiku/Obi won't sell up North. If North should betray South by voting against PBAT in 2027, there is no way a Northerner can get to Aso rock in 2031 or beyond. |
The rate of homosexuality in South East is very alarming. That is one aspect nobody wants to talk about and it's bad. |
Nice one... what is good for Northerners is also good for Yorubas. |
They know but they don't care.. Nigeria was literally borrowing money to pay workers salary while some corrupt set up people were cashing out from petrol subsidy payment. Nigeria is not a poor country, Nigerians must realize this. The mineral and natural resources in Nigeria alone are enough to make us bigger than China, France and likes, but corruption is what has kept us where we are today. |
I think the right word to describe Yoruba problem is 'docility' not 'fearful'.. the day Yorubas ditch 'wokeness' for tribal love is the day our story will change. I've been in organizations with Igbos and I've seen how they always try to sideline people from other tribes to favour their fellow Igbos, they don't care about competence or seniority, they can break rules to favour fellow Igbos against other ethnic groups. This is where Yorubas are making the mistake, most Yorubas especially the ones in Lagos have been deceived into believing it's okay for Igbos to be getting job opportunities ahead of fellow Yorubas which is a very bad mentality. When you've successfully schemed out your own tribesmen to put outsiders in positions, it will come back to affect your own children tomorrow as those outsiders you employed out of 'kindness or wokeness' will deny your child the opportunity to work tomorrow. Last but not least.. Yorubas are the most successful ethnic group from Africa.. the top professionals abroad (U.S, U.K, Canada etc.) are over 70% Yorubas.. 'One Nigeria' is the reason Yorubas aren't making progress in Nigeria. You can't compare the development Western region experienced back then to the stagnation we are experiencing today where the Nigerian State is robbing South West to pay parasite regions who contribute nothing to Government coffers but take out the lion share year in year out. |
That Amaechi is a very bad person.. I wonder why terrible people are lined up as opposition ahead of 2027 The same Amaechi that pressured GEJ to spend everything in our excess crude account, leaving nothing behind as savings.. shows how unintelligent the man is. Even Madam Ngozi Okonjo Iweala opposed such reckless spending but Amaechi didn't care. The same Amaechi was caught signing agreement papers written in Chinese language out of desperation to take loans he and his croonies will loot. I believe what H.E Nyesom Wike said about Amaechi's wife collecting 4 billion naira monthly for 12 months for NDDC women empowerment. It's something that crook can do. |
All the arsenal of PDP in 2023 have moved to APC.. no more Delta and Akwa Ibom State Oil money for Atiku and his goons to lavish on voters. Let's watch and see how 0bidients would be taxed heavily to make Atiku's ambition fly. |
Obi was lured out of LP so he won't pose threat to Atiku in 2027.. they'll deny Obi the ADC ticket at the last minute so he won't have any chance to leave. This is not the first time Fulanis will be playing Igbos. It is haram for muslims to form coalition that will benefit a non-muslim. That alone is a pointer to the fact that Atiku won't step down for Obi in that coalition. |
Nigerians are not as stupid as most politicians think.. 2027 is either for continued progress or descent to total collapse. |
To be honest, I don't see any of the new coalition leaders getting ADC ticket in 2027. There will be so many quarrels and court cases that even campaigns might not be possible. PDP will field a Southerner with Northern VP, but PBAT will emerge winner. Atiku made another big mistake moving to ADC, just like 2023. |
