It's you Igbos that are obsessed with Lagos.. we Yorubas aren't. It's part and parcel of our birthright and heritage.

Moreover there is no big deal with me living in Osogbo or Ibadan.. as long as it's Western region and inter-connected with road and rail system, I'm fine.

What I am kicking against is this alien behaviour of some Lagosians attacking and inciting other Lagosian through unguarded utterances.. The Aworis, Egbas, Ijebus, Eguns etc. are all indigenous to Lagos but don't go about making reckless statements like some are busy doing. It's until internal clashes start in Lagos that eyes of people like Bode George will clear.

FYI, the Lagos State today is made up of over 85% of lands ceded to her by Ogun State.

The Sage Pa Awo, was less enthusiastic about oil and gas extraction in Yorubaland. I once read his speech he gave at the Convocation ceremony of University of Ghana where he stated that he believes that in the long run, compared to industrial development/ extraction of natural resources, agricultural and human capacity development through education is good for the environment and achieving human development goals. I am sure his concerns will be revisited, the natural resources have always been there and we are aware but the political will for massive extraction is not solidly convincing

I know there are Oil deposits in many parts of South West, just that our people are docile and never eager to push for anything, just to be blowing big big grammar up and down and be doing oversabi, whereas we are really losing out from the allocations that other regions are getting.

The Old Eastern region wasn't homogenous (had so many tribes), reason it was easy to balkanize it into South East and South South.. Even South East with 5 States is still not homogenous (there are Igalas in Anambra and some other non-Igbos in Enugu, Ebonyi etc.).

As it is now, biafra is an Igbo thing, what will happen to non-Igbos indegenous to those areas of South East?. Or you want to separate an Igala man in Anambra from his kiths and kins in Kogi State??

Lagos was peaceful in 2023, just minor knocks here and there just like we saw in South Eastern States where voters supporting APC were intimidated and not allowed to exercise their fundamental rights.

I feel.South South is actually getting more attention than South West.. the Lagos to Calabar coastal highway is ongoing and will bring development to the Niger Delta region. Another big project is ongoing in Rivers as we speak.

Amaechi didn't do anything for South na, that one was busy taking Chinese loans in billions of dollars to fund railway project into Niger republic capital whereas his own Rivers State had no functional train system.
Wike has free hand to work for the people of FCT but Amaechi didn't enjoy such privilege under Buhari.
