Food › Re: How To Make Yam Balls by Flow11(op): 3:04pm On Sep 26, 2014 |
underage: This is how I prepare my yam balls
Ingredients: Yam (quantity as desired, 1big tuber will make abt 20 balls or so) Canned fish or minced meat (its actually tastier with fish) Fresh pepper and onion (grounded) Spices (maggi, salt, curry, powdered cumin, powdered black pepper) Eggs Oil Bread crumbs/flour Mortar and pestle
1. Peel the yam and cut into desired shape and size.
2. Add a little salt and cook until soft.
3. Using the mortal and pestle, marsh the yam softly, to get a loose form of it. Don't pound hard, it will turn to pounded yam.
4. Add the grounded pepper and onion, fish or meat, and spices (to taste) to the yam. You can put 1 or 2 eggs to make it little sticky, if its not.
5. Mix well and make into small balls (they are easier to fry) and roll them in the bread crumbs and put aside. NB: the breadcrumbs helps keep it in place.
6. Meanwhile heat the oil, when hot enough, dip the yam balls into beaten egg and deep fry until golden brown.
7. Eat warm or cold with juice or tea
That's it.......but unfortunately I don't have a picture to share. But I have a picture of sumtin nyc to share with you guys if you are interested. tnx dear, u got it perfectly..so so grateful |
