ochukoccna: What do you expect of and from a government which is afraid even of its own shadow?
Even though this report points to a 15 year window, recall that the PDP has held sway for 14 of those years
GEJ reminds one of Macbeth
Written by Shakespeare between 1603-1607 its is still yet one of the darkest and most powerful tragedies written by man
This man got the presidency by been wily and crafty
The corrosive psychological and political effects produced when deception is chosen as a way to fulfil the ambition for power is plain for us all all to see
You all can rant & hate all you want here on NL, but we well-meaning Nigerians know where we were when your people ruled & where we are today that sincere people are in government...FRESH AIR. And by God`s special grace...WE WILL NERVER GO BACK TO YOUR WISHES. grin grin grin grin grin

dayokanu: Retardeen Jonathan is the most petty and useless leader this country has ever produced

Imagine the childish politics of calling a Governors meeting when Amaechi called one

Why not simply schedule his own meeting after Amaechis since the latter called for a meeting first

Since when do presidents start dragging powers with a Governor,

He has really brought the Presidency to disrepute and an object of ridicule

Thats how his Hippo of a wife spent the whole of 2 weeks in Port Harcourt waging war on a governor

Black Swan: That story about an orange seller with 600m was probably concocted by the jtf, there is no way to confirm that it is true.
@topic, the state government should do something to alleviate their suffering instead of letting jtf limit their activities any way they like
@BlackSwan, story by JTF false? What about the `yam-seller` that spied before Jaji facility blast? Please keep shut if you do not have anything to say. Havent you heard of arab beggers blowing military personnel at checks before?

Okija juju: [b]600 million?! shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked

OKAY!! Let me think out loud here for a second.... So if 600million passed through his account in 3 months, shouldnt the money be easy to trace back to its origin? undecided
Someone must have deposited the money in his account. How about they trace back to the day of the deposit, what bank, what name, was it in cheque or cash. Banks have CCTV's, if it was a cash transaction, the day of deposit can be found and the tape reviewed. Shouldnt the bank had red flagged his account when such large amounts of money are suspiciously passing through his account?! Didnt the bank sense money laundering? How was he able to withdraw 600 million naira with such ease from a bank under this new 'withdrawal cap' of 1.5million (abi na 10 million) that Sanusi put in place? When such large amounts of money are being dealt with, banks always photograph the bankers of such monies, so did the bank do so?! If the bank didnt, then is the bank manager an accomplice?!

Too many unanswered questions..

this story sounds like a lie.

PDPwayoo: My broda, i like men not boys in govt.

GEJ is responsible for insecurity in Nigeria; IF he arrest Bohari and some northern elders linked to Boko Haram, nothing will happen and BH will disappear. When OBJ was in jail he was begging for freedom not power...........so if Buhari go to jail he will start begging for his head (freedom) not power or pleading for BH amnesty.
GEJ might be a good man but not man enough to rule Nigeria.

The problem Nigeria have is security. By now our economy should have been bigger than SA. Foreign investors are scared of nigeria cos of security problems.
How can we move forward if no foreign investors? Oil alone can not help up.
Your `We need men not boys in govt` implies you mean that the opposition have more men to handle the affairs of this great nation. Where are the `men`? Look through the opposition & see if what you truely wish/mean for this nation can come out of them. I love this nation to DEATH. I work with people of other nations & can say most would sell an eye to become Nigerians. That is not to say we do not have challenges. Do you know that people just goes ahead & destroy equipments to paint the govt incompetent? Do you know that there is islamic sympathy for the boko haram in Nigeria? GEJ is responsible for insecurity in Nigeria, you said? Have you seen delegates going to see him every time asking for amnesty for the terrorists? Why? Because, they are responsible for insecurity & they want to begin to clean up their acts before they begin to bandy a northern candidate for 2015. Do you remember what El-rufai said about Buhari before the last election? See apart of it: Mallam El-Rufai wishes to remind General Buhari that he has remained perpetually unelectable because his record as military head of state, and afterwards, is a warning that many Nigerians have wisely heeded. His insensitivity to Nigeria’s diversity and his parochial focus are already well-known. Do you remember what Buhari said before the last election? He said Abacha DID NOT touch Nigeria`s penny. What do I say about Tinubu? Are these the `men` we need to redeem Nigeria? My brother, Nigeria is GREAT...but we must become one people not seperated by religion & tribe...which unfortunately is the norm. God bless Nigeria

What has GEJ done to win 2015? in 1972 there is street light in my town and water board very active but today no more.
Abi na road we go talk? or light?
No, its not GEJ. Its those that stayed before him. Be objective man; dont be blinded by tribal or political affiliation. This man has gone through what others that ruled this country did not. Put yourself in his shoes man; this man is not spirit. We get really handy when it comes to putting others down...but have you noticed how it hurts when we are put down?

Now I know how jobless & wicked so many NLders have become. What is wrong in Dr. Abati asking that Mr. President be allowed to focus on work at hand? People should be sensible & stop doing things to hurt others because whatever you sow is what you reap. And to be honest, who out of all those past leaders have been as sincere as President Goodluck in tackling the challenges we face as a nation huh. No matter what people do here on NL, it will not keep President Goodluck from staying beyond 2015 as president. Anything you do to deliberately hurt someone will ALWAYS come back to hunt you....ask the northern elders. sad sad sad They are now being hunted by what they taught will be a tool to make Nigeria ungovernable for the elected. One of the greatest things I still thank God for today after many years of marriage is His giving me the patience to wait & disvirgened my wife on our honeymoon after seven years of courtship. Virginity is the best gift any one can give to a spouse. In every marriage there are challenges but people will never know the real joy in marriage untill they walk the path of purity in courtship. I wish I was able to give my wife this gift but I still thank God. Only God can bear me the witness...our bed room today is a blow-away.

banki: Buhari campaigned in port harcourt at the polo grounds oga i was there my self and just incase you dont know he didi not steal money like those thieves so he couldnt afford to role to every state like the people that paid over 200billion in the name of subsidy to et money for campaign.
so according to your logic people should have vision but allow stealing and corruption, it shows your a big goat......
Nigerias problem is not vision or plan our problem is execution or implementatation of the vision or the plan which the only cause is CORRUPTION.

We have the best plans for power generation, education, transportation, health, sports, aeronautics, construction, food security, maternal mortality, etc but how come all indicies point to the fact that we are not making progress....CORUPTION
@banki & his likes, lets look at `our saints`s uncoverable history:

1. Shagari’s regime (1979-1983), incurred Buhari’s wrath when it decided to investigate the US$2.8 billion that disappeared from the Midland Bank, London account of the Nigerian National Petroleum Cooperation, (NNPC), during General Obasanjo’s era as military head of state. THE MONEY WAS TRACED TO THE MIDLAND BANK LONDON BRANCH FIXED ACCOUNT OF BUHARI whom Obasanjo had appointed as military head of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC).
2. On the 31st December, 1983, Buhari struck under the cover of the political commotion that trailed the presidential election results. Buhari generally had no agenda for leadership but vendetta against those he called critics and rabble-rousers. BUHARI DID NOT SEE ANY MORAL WRONG IN HIS CONVERSION OF OUR OIL MONEY INTO HIS PERSONAL USE. Rather he railed at the press and what he described as the self-righteous sections of the country for making a big deal out of the issue. He locked up without trial, politicians and critics including Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, notorious for clamouring for the exposure of the oil money rogue.
3. Vera Ifudu, who was an NTA reporter then, was sacked through his prodding as military ruler, for reporting what Dr. Olusola Saraki had told her in an interview about how the missing money was traced to Buhari’s account at a Midland Bank London branch. Vera eventually won her case of wrongful dismissal in court against the NTA and was financially compensated.
4. “Abacha rehabilitated Buhari with the chairmanship of the Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF) before he (Abacha) died in 1998. When Obasanjo returned to power in May 1999 as civilian president, he found that over 2.5 billion naira had not been properly accounted for in the PTF and that there was not much on the ground to show for the colossal expenditure the agency was claiming. On the day Obasanjo announced the scrapping of the PTF, a non-staff brother-in-law of the boss, allegedly serving as his conduit on some PTF projects, died suddenly from what appeared to be heart failure. Haruna Adamu, who was appointed by Obasanjo to investigate the PTF before finally consigning it to the dung heap, allegedly quickly pocketed one hundred million naira of PTF’s money before operating table could be set up for him, thus forcing Obasanjo to hurriedly close the place down without further investigations.
Buhari has been trying desperately since to return to power, perhaps to get a chance to shred the PTF documents?
6. Some years ago Buhari called for the total islamization of all Nigerian states.(http://www.news24.com/xArchive/Archive/Calls-for-total-Sharia-in-Nigeria-20010827)

And you are surprised that he has not uttered any words against the killings of non-hausas & Christians?

courage89: 1. War Against Indiscipline (Clean Nigeria)

2. Reduced inflation from ~20% to ~4%

3. Reduced corruption

4. Facilitated the building of refineries

5. Reduced wasteful spending
@courage89, from your name, you were born in 1989...that makes you 23yrs & all you have come to know about the islamist are stories written by el-rufai & co pathetic supporting hypocrites . These hypocrites are wicked & self-serving. This same El-rufai who is today now trying to do some good paint work on his master had these to say just before the elections about Buhari:

Mallam El-Rufai wishes to remind General Buhari that he has remained perpetually unelectable because his record as military head of state, and afterwards, is a warning that many Nigerians have wisely heeded. His insensitivity to Nigeria’s diversity and his parochial focus are already well-known. In 1984, Buhari allowed 53 suitcases belonging to his ADC’s father to enter Nigeria unchecked at a time the country was exchanging old currency for new. Against all canons of legal decency, he used retroactive laws to execute three young men for drug-peddling after they were convicted by a military tribunal and not regular courts of law. Buhari was so high handed that he gave himself and his officials immunity even from truthful reporting. That obnoxious Decree 4, against which truth was no defence, was used to jail journalists and attempt to cow the media as a whole. That tyrannical legislation shows the essence of his intolerance. These are facts of recent history.
The story of counter-trade and import licensing, the cornerstone of Buhari’s stone-age economic strategy and those whose interests it served, is a tale for another day.

Mallam El-Rufai respects Generals Buhari and Babangida as an elder statesman. He believes his age, experience and guidance may contribute to the success of any future government. El-Rufai however believes that it is time for a new generation of leaders with new thinking and wholesome democratic attitude to move our nation forward. The vicious response by the Buhari camp to a simple statement that their almost-70 principal should retire is proof enough that a Buhari, the new Democrat, tolerant of views different from his own, is yet to evolve. And that is sad, for his fledgling party and its leadership. Buhari and his cohorts may wish to reflect that it will take more than attacks on personalities to become electable. Having seen his version of discipline, Nigerians are not likely to cherish an encore. But they will welcome an engagement with the issues and problems of everyday life that have hobbled the peoples of this land.

Media Adviser to Mallam Nasir El-Rufai
