3. Domestic Abuse isn’t a part of Love ;(


Some people often mistake domestic abuse for love. It is not! A person who loves you won’t raise their hands to you or hit you. Love isn’t the same as emotional or physical abuse

2. Love needs “Realness”

You can’t pretend forever. Who you really are will one day shine through. True love understands that you’re not a perfect person. So, stop faking it. Stop acting like you are somebody else

The issue of love is a touchy one.
We all have different ideas of what love is. In a place as diverse as Naija, love means many different things to different people.

Just because we have opinions doesn’t make all of them right. Here are some universal truths about love that every Nigerian should know:


1. Love ≠ Sex

In this part of the world, many people equate sex with love. No matter how great you are in bed, it doesn’t mean someone will stand by you or fall in love with you.

Lost at a point Or you have to do something urgent? Not to worry.

The background music will categorically tell you how Nneka broke Jimi’s heart and now, she can’t find another boyfriend.

3. The first fifteen to twenty minutes are adverts


A classic Nollywood movie has tons of adverts with almost the same voice talking about “Number 1 Pound Road, Aba ” to throw you off balance.

These last for about a few minutes until you’re tired and probably have given up and then, the movie starts.

2. They have a lot of unnecessary sequels


Once you see a movie that has a lot of ‘parts’, it’s most likely one of those traditional kinda movie. Nowadays, it’s been called a season.

They’re the same movie, just broken into multiple parts.

Here’s how to know a traditional Nigerian kinda movie:


1. It has a ridiculous title

From the name you should know honestly. “Arrow of Love”, “Pain of Love”, “Beyonce and Rihanna” and all that. Except you seek local comedic relief, you shouldn’t be watching these.

Though every man has what attracts them to a woman, but marrying a good woman entails a lot.

Before you marry a lady, there are many things you need to consider. Look beyond her shape, beauty, etc. Her beautiful shape, pretty face and sexy boobs will not give you a happy married life.

5 she should be a lady who gives you advice and helps you to plan your life and who has something meaningful to offer to your life, not a girl who has nothing to offer except sex.

Marriage is not all about sex.
Its an institution...

3. Family


This is the ground where you need all the armor of God. But especially hold on to the helmet of Salvation. Some of your family members may be unsaved yet. Maybe it’s your kids, your husband or wife or your parents. At times it takes years of faithful prayer to get them to meet God. Hold on to your salvation and stand in faith for the ones you love. God is faithful.



4. Dating


There are so many opportunities for falling here, and they will surely have some grave consequences for your future life. So, instead of being guided by passions, be led by the Holy Ghost!



5. Addictions


The Scriptures tells us not to have any other gods. What does it have to do with substance abuse? Well, any addiction is an idol. You worship it by giving yourself over to it. You spend your money, time, you waste yourself serving it. And eventually, it kills you! If you keep the first commandment of Jesus: Love your God with all your heart, mind, strength, you easily avoid falling into this trap.


6. Work


You get a lot of stress there. You can quickly turn your business or work into an idol or get tempted to do the things Christians should not be a part of. So, keep the truth in your mind and stay focused on the real values!
As you see, these are the places, where the devil can easily catch you off guard and attack you. If you are aware of the fact and stay well armed, you can beat him!

3. Family

When you travel, you have so many things to take care of and to worry about, that you can quickly shift your focus. You take your eyes off the things of God. That’s the perfect place for the devil to get you. Once you lose your peace, you become an easy prey. So, guard your heart more than you guard your money, things, luggage, etc.

The Bible tells us: “Neither give place to the devil.” (Ephesians 4:27) It means we can open up the door for the evil one to enter our lives and attack us. How do we stop him and what are the most unexpected places he gets us?
In the book of Ephesians 6, Apostle Paul talks about the armor of God. He lists such things as Salvation, Preaching the Gospel, Truth, Faith, Prayer, Righteousness, Word of God. When we lose our grip of some of these things, we become vulnerable and open for the attack.
When can this happen? What are the situations, when we have to grab a firmer hold of the armor of God?



1. Illness
It’s when you need your faith the most. Some people think their faith has to be strong to protect them from all sicknesses. That is not true. The Bible tells us of many righteous men, who were sick, such Job, King David, Abraham, etc. They did have physical afflictions, but their faith in God proved to be strong enough to endure and come out as victors.
Here is what the Bible tells us:
“If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.” (Proverbs 24:10)


The real testing of the faith comes, when we get sick. It’s so easy to become weak in your beliefs and start blaming God for letting you go through the valley of death. So, be on guard and know your Redeemer is alive!

Daily Mail has shared the story of the 19-year-old girl who has spent most of her life in a plastic bowl since she has only a half of her body and suffers constant pain.



Rahma’s family do their best to provide her with a fulfilling life and transport her around the village in a plastic bowl
Her mother, Fadi, said:“From six months when she learnt how to sit that was when it began. She didn’t learn how to crawl. She started with a fever and that was it. Then stomach pains. Then her body parts like hands and legs. She cannot use any if the ache strikes.”
Her family make every effort to give her a fulfilling life and carry her around the neighbourhood in a plastic container that is placed on a wheelchair.

Her 10-year-old brother Fahad is very supportive and also tries to please her any time he can: “I help her in many ways. Bathing her is another thing I do. And taking her out everyday. I feel happy

Some wonders of the world are made by God, while others are manmade. Such is this amazing water bridge in Netherlands. It breaks the law of physics!
Overpasses are complicated constructions. Especially if you do not just want to make them functional, but good looking, too.


This bridge was designed to prevent the traffic jams and allow the water transport pass the channel freely.


Human genius has found a rather unusual solution. The overpass connects the Netherlands with one of its artificial islands, called Flevoland. Daily the bridge is crossed by over 28 thousand cars. And the boats cross the channel.



However, they float over the cars, instead of floating under the bridge.


The construction was erected back in 2002. The road is 25 meters long and 19 meters wide Instead of hanging over the water; the bridge goes under it, and the boats float over it through the artificially made channel of 3 meters in depth. This roadway is unusual and unique. People can create wonders!
