Who is coming to Macquarie University this July or Sydney generally awaiting grant, Let me write your names down!! Remember you can ask for Airport pick up from your school instead of paying 110AUD or more depending on your destination, just let me know, there are other things you might want to know. I will be writing my one-month review on 2nd July 2018 to help someone out there with a smooth settlement process before resumption. Cheers ALL

Hello house, i wrote IELTS and had a band score of 7.0. pls can i use the same ECA evaluation of WES canada for Australian PR application? Generally
You do not need the ECA evaluation by WES for Australia, What you need can all be found here: https://www.nairaland.com/3053069/general-guide-australian-permanent-resident, Read from page 0-20 and 640-666 and you would understand the whole process, then you can ask specific question and they will point you in the right direction

From Perth, you can fy to anywhere you please, even if na the island you wan go, you will be connected to domestic flights using the SAA. Well, that's my opinion
adeomoade:
Unfortunately, SAA doesn't fly to Darwin. Thank you

After a careful thought, it depends on your risk/return ratio analysis, I needed to save a fraction to cater for my family, so I guess I will take that option again funny enough, since I can withstand stress as against no funds for my family. In a nutshell, it is up to you. I would think things will get better after my case, cuz it was their loss. Anyways, they still have my bag. However, if you are travelling with wife and/or kids, it might not be a good idea.
winnex007:
So what are you suggesting I do. Should I go with your 430k or something else
TravelRe: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by fobak203(m): 3:09am On Jun 04, 2018
It costed 430k but it came with too much stress like I mentioned in my previous msg

Thanks Solitin, I arrived Sydney on the 2nd June, very funny situations at Istanbul but overall, thankful for Gods favour and journey mercy.

What are the first things to do to have a beautiful stay here in Aussie. Pls any advice would be welcomed.

Solitin40:
Call Turkish to ask them for hotel bookings because of your long stop over I know of SAA that you have to book a week before flight date

If you have enough money go with shuttle service from the airport to your destination but if you want to save cost just use the train from the airport to the nearest train station to your destination and you use uber to get to your final destination At the airport ask questions from staffs on how to get opal card and load it do not be shy just ask questions and make sure you have A$ with you

Touched down Sydney, Australia in good health, Thanks be to God. Well I decided to start with the good news. I would have dropped this itinerary summary on Life as an immigrant, but I want everyone to take note. I was on the connecting: ABJ-IST-BKK-SYD. My major hurdle was crossing Istanbul, That airline and her airport staffs are bunch of .... In short let me say it. Goats! Firstly, I had a 17hours lay-off or stop over and at the nick of time just before boarding. I was told I cannot fly because the ignoramus does not have immediate resources to check for my visa. As if that was not enough, between 1.25am flight time and 10.00am. None of the over 200 staffs could verify my visa. I had to teach the Cows how to use VEVO. Eventually, it was verified and three idiots told me I need to book flight by myself, Na there I spark say Wetin you talk! In summary, I had to make them book a new flight for me. A 2.5 days journey became 4days for me. Take-home point: You might want to reconsider if you hope to take Turkish airline.

Another scenario, another lady wit kids have to fly back to Lagos from Istanbul because of the same ignoramus plus the fact that her connecting flight was Singapore, which needs a ttasit visa. What a waste! Pls, if your agent books Singapore as your connection, Call am fast make he retrace him steps oh. Na dead end.
Incase you still went ahead to book Turkish airline, on arrival to Istanbul, rush to 215 transfer desk to ensure your visa is verified. I have left a message that all Turkish airline staffs needs two things: English class and Reorientation. Let me drop my mic before dem go find me come. Love you ALL

I am on a student visa and should be touching down on June 1st. Please I have 2 luggages. I am heading Marshfield, NSW 2122. Which is the cheapest transportation to take, the cab company? And howuch do they charge, this is to enable me get the required cash in ABJ before leaving. Or More generally, How much should I be looking to hold that would be sufficient.

Secondly, does anyone know if Turkish airline provides Accomodation for long lay-offs (17hrs). Biko anza me, or else make I get good massage for AbJ to await the long chair at Instabul. Urgent response required

Where is theophilic? Pls send me a PM if you got this
theoophilic:
I have read more than half of the pages of this thread and I have learnt a lot already. However, I have some questions and I appreciate kind respond.

I have just been award scholarship for 1 year Master by Research + 3 Years PhD at Macquarie University.
1. Firstly, about English Language Proficiency. Will I still need to submit IELTS cert for Visa application? I am asking because, the IELTS I took in 2015 before going for my MSc in UK is valid for 2 year (till Dec 2017). It was still valid at the time I was applying to Macquarie but now, they may not be able to verify it online as its over 2 years.

2. Also, about GTE. How can proof my GTE further. My First Degree, MSc and this intended Research degree is Chemistry, and am fine by travel history – that is, I left UK immediately after my programme, 3 months before the end of my visa stay. However, I am not currently engaged in Nigeria. A job offer I had with a Federal University before going for my MSc has not been reinstated. Will that not dent my GTE? As in, will the fact that I have no job waiting for me here, not be seen that my condition doesn’t warrant coming back to?

3. Living in Sydney. For those leaning in Sydney already, please, is it possible to get accommodation as cheap as 100-150 AUD weekly close to the Uni? About what amount is the cheapest amount to live on in Sydney. The reason for this is that, I have financial responsibility to my siblings back here in Nigeria and I will have to send money home monthly from my monthly scholarship pay. I want to be sure that this will be feasible, while I still have some savings, if I end up not working to face studies, as I have to attain excellent performance to remain on the scholarship.

4. About work, I have seen many talk about care jobs and I will definitely consider the various advice… but is it possible to get anything close to teaching? Any level of education will be fine. That’s really what I have flair for.

5. Finally, is there no means of getting PR to Australia aside the listed skills? Chemistry isn’t there and I do not plan to change my study focus. Can’t one be considered for PR if for instance I got permanent lecturing job during or after the 4 years post study visa I ll get after my PhD?

TravelRe: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by fobak203(m): 12:57am On May 25, 2018
Most of the time, AL2 and AL3 schools, if there is any, are usually cheaper than AL1 schools. More so, schools outside of Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide can also be cheaper, Lastly, Lowly ranked schools might also be cheaper. In all of my insinuations, I stand to be corrected. If you can Google based on the keywords in my response, you should be clinching your choir schools based on cheap fees. However, you can go the PR way, its doable especially because you are in the engineering line, young and can ace IELTS. My two cents

Tlontin:
Pls I'm a graduate of civil Engineering with 3 years experience, I'm planning to do my masters at Australia and also to hustle tho. Gurus in the house, pls which cheap university and state to hustle, can I enrol for my Msc civil engineering technician. Streamline.
Note. I have around 10000Aud and someone that has around 12m in his account for SOA.

The question is too generic, Ph.D position in Aussie? Ph.D in what area of study. Moreso, having solved the issue of specific area of study, then you can simply put that into google and navigate your way through the search engine and I am sure you would get something. You might want to try this kind of search to obtain a streamlined and very specific result of your search: Ph.D+position+Australia+(your course of study). Cheers

Honestly, I just did an evaluation of the risk/return ratio and decided to do it. When I was in the UK, you need to do police clearance for some kind of jobs and it could suffice in that aspect. More so, it does not cost much, and it is readily available, I got mine in 30mins. It is better to do it than to be sorry. Na 'Operation Nothing will stop me from entering Australia' na him me dey oh
nogara:
Please is this police clearance compulsory, my agent said its not necessary. Kindly lend me your view.

If your wife is ready to prepare and pass IELTS well, then she can nominate an IT profession and apply for PR. Sincerely, I don't know if your French studies would fly for PR, but gurus can contribute. The best route would be you go alone for Masters program, wife and kids join you later, wifey then applies for PR and guarantees y'all a PR.
It us difficult to get a job in Australia, but it is doable. Just to mention, once you are studying, majority can work while studying and it is a nor mal thing.

The very first thing you need to do is put up an applications for Masters program for yourself and wifey, who gets admission can proceed with visa application
babylappy:
Dear Fobak2035

Dear Fobak203,

Thanks so much for your swift response. I really appreciate it. I studied French language (major) with 2:1 here in Nigeria. And I think I meet the financial requirements. I have a family of 3 and I really need to know which is the best possible route to relocate to Australia both to get good job, and secure permanent Residence for my family.

Would you advice securing a job there first? While i am still here, is it even possible? Or trying to get enrolled into a university for a Masters Program, and secure a job while studying. And really boss, what's the very first thing I need to do?

Kindly advice.
Thank you.
TravelRe: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by fobak203(m): 7:13pm On May 13, 2018
The question "whats my fate in Australia' made me chuckle, but I will try to be as logical and sincere as possible. Although, there are some loose ends to your statement. You are a French graduate, does that mean you studied french, or you studied a particular which was not mentioned in France. Going the PR way, your wife is more aligned with the PR route, because she can go for a course in IT and she is younger. Going by the student visa way, you are the architect of your own building, if you can satisfy english, GTE, admission and financial requirement, any of you is good to go. But remember, who is more likely to get admission based on GTE that is one of which is relevance of the course should be the applicant and the other a dependent. In terms of getting a good job and get a good living. It is sure you would be fine, you might not necessarily get a good job, but my ideology is you can get a good pay depending on where you decide to start from and eventually settling down is not a problem and you would be happy you made that choice on relocation. On going about the entire process, I and some experts have incessantly posted how to go about the whole process on here. Start from page 1-5 and then you can put my name in the search tab and see some of my step-by-step on how to go about getting a student visa

Cheers

First and Foremost, Congrats on your studies, what you have in your hand could either be a springboard or an impediment to your success. I pray it is the former. You need to choose a school that fits your UG course, get admission either through an agent or yourself. Afterwards, you can then indicate your interest in the school of government scholarship. For Some s schools, it is usually during or after the admission application. You should also be ready to write a catchy CV that shows not just your academic prowess, but also your leadership, communication, research and social skills. All the best. More specifically, Look into Macquarie University, the assigned agent could give you a minimum of 50% scholarship if you make your application through them and a maximum of an all expense paid studies. Cheers

Thanks Kazeem for helping to review my SOP, I have gotten my Visa grant 2 weeks ago.

Concerning student dependent visa, it has been claimed that there peak and off-peak period. A friend applied in November for his wife and kid, he got it a week ago. Logically, yours should come soon. However, ability to understand peak and off-peak could save us a lot of energy. Keep your fingers crossed, it will come through soon. For February and April applicants, not sure how long you need to wait. But it will end in praise

Based on the current trend of things. Can I beg you to apply alone. The strongest ties to your how country is leaving your spouse and child(ren). Next to that is Landed properties. Forget Uncles and brothers. Another one, is investment shares/bonds. Study leave with a stated date of return is another option. In all, Leaving your nuclear family in Nigeria ranks highest. Hope you understand and this helps

School requirements is different from DIBP requirements. However, DIBP would check the conditions satisfied by applicant from the CoE, so your school would ave done well to inform them you are proficient in English. I doubt if DIBP would not ask you for IELTS. If you have it, tender it and pls if not, apply for IELTS immediately. It would be painful to wait for three weeks to 2months only to learn that you need IELTS which does not come in handy. I had to defer to July mainly because of IELTS. My one cent
Femidrummer:

I submitted a lot of documents, would write the ones I remember now.
Results: BSc, 2 MSc certificates and transcript, IElTS, SOP, Int'l Passport and Birth Certificate of myself, wifey and son, Employment Letter and Payslips, CoE, Proof of Scholarship, Marriage Certificate, CV. LGA of Origin, Staff ID Card, Promotion Letter. Proof of Awards as stated in the SOP. In a nutshell, I submitted every document that can substantiate my claims on the SOP. I think it works that way. Also, it is better to have surplus rather than deficit. My Int'l had just 4 months validity and I was still given 22months visa. As against the popular believe that you are given visa based on the expiry of your Intl passport. If I remember any other relevant docs submitted, I would post it here
Femidrummer:
Can you share the documents you submitted . Congrats
