When did you apply? foliat: |
Its fine, no worries. Thanks for your contribution. That's the spirit Lukainoluciano: |
In between offer letter and CoE lies two important requirement. Proof of financial capability and English proficiency. In all honesty, it depends on how quick you can get those two sorted. It can be two days and it can be six months IamphilVitalis: |
I did not need to submit SOA because I had a scholarship. If not, I would have had to submit one regardless of the case officer. One needs to meet the financial requirements. MielBaker: |
Timeline for visa Immi account creation: 3rd November 2017 Medicals: 23rd November 2017 IELTS: 25th November 2017 IELTS Result: 8th December 2017 (LRWS:6.0,7.0,6.5,7.0, overall 6.5) My mind skip when I saw my result on that day sha CoE: 13th December 2017 Visa application submitted: 15th December 2017. At this point, I believed I had taken the shortest cut to resuming on January 1st 2018. First, by doing medicals before application. At that point, I was still speaking English with Macquarie University that I have a University of Manchester Masters, dem just dey look me dey laugh. Looking above, I was only giving the CoE after submitting my english test. Also, miracle did not happen so by 20th January, I already knew I would have to defer. Let me continue my timeline, my story. CO contact: 26th January (Late commencement date letter) For a second, I did not understand what the case officer wanted from me, but I had to logicalize that since I am doing a Masters by research, DIBP believed I could resume anytime apart from January 1st. My brothers and sisters, hope rose by DIBP and dashed by Macquarie when they said I can only get late commencement for straight Ph.D. Dont forget I have a bundle offer of MRes+Ph.D and 1 year MRes scholarship only for now anyways. Instead, in place of late comemencement, I submitted updated CoE updated CoE: 10th February 2018 No further contact until 8.18am today when I got news of my visa grant Visa grant: 26th April 2018. Resumption date: 1st July 2018 School: Macquarie University Course: Materials Engineering under Mechanical Engineering Department Note: I suceeded the waiting game by indulging and becoming engrossed in my office duties. That has proven to be a very good antidote for waiting for your visa. Oluwa has done it. It finally ended in praise. Do not hesitate to ask me any questions! God's hands is not too short to reach out to us to deliver your visa grant, it will be delivered in due time. To all visa hopefuls, it will come out soonest. Cheers ALL |
Since noone knows nothing for sure, we can make assumptions and logically assess such hypothesis, all for the purpose of keeping hope alive. Personally, I think all hands are on deck in DIBP to monitor the influx and putflux of spectators, fans and patriot in order to ensure they leave the country immediately after the commonwealth games. Although, it came to an end on the 15th April 2018. Hopefully, we should start hearing news of Visa grants two weeks from today. Did I mention that it is my opinion. Yes I did kessel: |
Please who is this VO and how do I reach him directly. Alternatively, can you just post the thread on here. Thanks in anticipation. LagosismyHome: |
Being that this is part 13 of the thread, I know this questions would have been asked and answered, but because I lack the keywords to search it out. Please you can either refer me to the page for comprehensive response or provide me with fresh detailed answers. Question 1: I was admitted to Missouri S and T (to resume spring, January 2017) and given visa December 2016. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, this was deferred till Fall, September 2017. But still could not travel. I was then advised by the school to move the admission to this session, which I did and was given admission to resume Fall, 2018. Prior to this, my previous visa is still valid till December 2018. Based on the foregoing, Can I still travel with the previous visa for this present admission taken into consideration that I am aware I need to get a new I20, which I am working on already. Please gurus in the house, help a brother in need! Biko Question 2: Assuming I can travel with the previous visa with this present admission. Can I travel to the US 3 months to resumption without having problems at the Port of Entry. |
As soon as you can convince them of financial capability, accept your offer and you request for it in no particular order drealdammy: |
Honestly, its a good reason to wait till April 19th then, Since the next resumption is in September 19th, for the sake of rest of mind, put your mind in Sept, i hve been there, though not easy but you should anticipate it. However, try to expedite actions to fast forward things after April 19th [quote author=chimax1 post=66382308]the next resumption is on Sept the 19th. Good cash flow in my sponsors account started from Jan 19th. Thats youmo agent said I should Wait till it wipes out. If only I cud use it as it is for the uni enrollment. [/quot |
Firstly, 70days from today is June 12th which is the average time you need to have lodged your visa application. Now my questions: Apart from wiping the lesser amount in he SoA, is there any other reason you were told to wait till April 19th. If your sponsor has a good cash in and outflow, No attentions would be paid to the fact that I bought a towel worth 2000naira using my ATM from the same account or someone paid me the 700naira he was owing me. Secondly, the school financial requirements is not as deep as DIBP requirement. Good cashflow and fat closing balance does the magic and would fly for university level. IMO, you should go ahead and submit that docs this minute and inform them of he need to expedite actions due to the recent delay in visa process. This agent sometimes set, na wa oh. I believe before or at the point of visa application, your sponsors account should be beefed up so that he can fly too. This is my personal opinion. I also know that some admission intake for some uni arr usually once a year. Finally when is your next resumption after June 4th. You might want to find out too, so as to see all possible scenarios. Cheers man chimax1: |
Congrats Boss, good vibes, maybe you are officially the first person to be offered visa grant in the next available bus, Abeg make we queue dey ansa our papa name Solitin40: |
Why do you need a Police Check Certificate after landing in Australia Amy3090: |
Thanks for the reply, happy for you. Cheers octo8ight: |
Congratulations, another good news to raise hope. A timeline would suffice to avoid piecewise questions from different readers. I said that because i want to know which school and what program level (BSc, MSc, MRes or Ph.D) Thanks octo8ight: |
When is your resumption date? Is it a MSC, MRes or Ph.D. If you are for July intake, be sure that you would have to wait 3months prior to resumption date before that decision would be communicated, but if your resumption is in March, April or May, then you should expect to get a correspondence mail from them before 16th March 2018. You need to comb your mail thoroughly at this point, What I mean is.. Check your spam, trach and even your pocket to see where their mail would be hiding if it does not drop into your mail box vdrumz: |
I am not required to take any actions, tried clicking the actions, but not hyperlinked, hence no interactiveness. Were you able to click yours. I also tried checking the attach document, and nothing requested, I also checked medical assessment and told no further actions required. Finally, there is no correspondence mail and no information provided button. Can someone else whose application reads 'further assessment' update the house about any observations. @foliat Thanks for the info. foliat: |
same here, this people english language can trouble the mind oh. Which one be further assessment. NA WA OH. It would end in praise for us. I would think it means final stage of assessment, or betterstill, it should mean, we nor get work, we just wan play arround with english, since all Feb. intake don resume finish. Abeg make them go cut grass and leave my assessment in progress jeje like that. #IDONTLIKEWHATIHATE. On a lighter note, Right now, this beautiful forum on nairaland for some of us is a place of solace, where we run and silently shout 'e gba mi oh' ewo tu ni further assessment' ...Thats how i felt anywaybblessed: |
Congrats Amy3090, I said we would be here to receive your goodness. The spiritual controls the physical. You need to start believing some of this things, even me, na my wife dey make me wan believe this days Amy3090: |
US admission is sweet, you do not need to show any financial capability of any sort before you eventually go. Do not cancel your application with DIBP yet until you get your I20, because Aussie in my opinion is better in all ramifications than US. It is case of which got to the finish line first. At the point when you need to fly, you can ask for a refund a month to departure to the US. Because US interview fit be yawa sometimes. If the VO nor like your case e fit give you blue or white card even based on his present mood, with your I20, admission and other documents. This na my sugar for your akamu. Best wishes olamitunposi: |
@SantaClause, Please be patient and thanks for your contributions, Schools have the obligation to check your financial capability only through your SOA in order to ascertain if you can cope financially with the cost of tuition and other add on, this should not be confused with issuance of visa. However, you are right that DIBP performs security checks but not limited to that alone. They carry all kinds of checks and solely determine if you merit visa grant based on GTE. There was a case on this forum where a particular university was told to refund student fees because they flawed in the area of admission about less than a year ago. I wan speak pidgin now, if dem leave school to dey give visa to student, I swear Nigeria go empty very soon because dem go oil their pocket lining at any cost. I know this because even some UK schools have been disaccreditted based on issuing CAS without enough background checks. Abeg make we nor too argue this matter. Maybe we can digress with discussing the way forward on 2019 election. I laugh when people say dem dey sharpen their voters card down for 2019, Abeg when voters card become blunt knife wey dem dey sharpen. Lols bligs: |
@Albion05, my heart goes out to you, I was initially too angry to comment on reading your refusal and ban. However, be sure that one more person is praying for you. Like you know, The Spiritual controls the physical and your trust in God at this time will overturn this trial into testimony. God will vindicate you and open up your books of chronicles. Cheers man. We will be here to get the goodness. |
I will see you in Macquarie University between May and June of this year. foliat: |
For Turkish Airline Economy class, you can carry two 23kg bags with a total circumference of 158cm (length, breadth and height) and a hand luggage of 8kg with a maxiumum dimension of 55 X 40 X 32cm. In a layman language, Carry two normal bags wey the weight nor pass 23kg and a small/medium size hand luggage wey you fit lift enter the cabin above your head on departure. If Na Business na 32kg for each of the bags. Shikena foliat: |
Your visa grant is on its way. personally, I think orientation is not a big deal, but if you can attend, why not? It is basically a welcome, some tour round the university and general awareness of whats obtainable in the uni. Please I would advice you throw off the anxiety concerning orientation and channel that energy in celebrating your visa grant in days to come. foliat: |
To those that would like to leave for Australia soon, I have said here that EgyptAir is cool, so If you get a good bargain for a flight via EgyptAir, You are sure of a good go flight. Kenyan Airways is also not bad joephemzyz: |
Congratulations, so happy for you, Is it MSc or Ph.D and what course? emirkingin: |
Recounting my experience at Cairo (with Egypt Air).We departed UK at about 3.00pm and got to Cairo at about 10.00pm or so. We were taken to a five-star hotel where we had a buffet and afterwhich we were ushered into our room. By 5.30am, we were awake, arrived at the airport 6.15am for a flight of 7.30am. It was a beautiful experience that surpassed my expectation. This should give you a hint for using Egypt en route to Australia joephemzyz: |
Thanks soopamom, will do that by Monday Morning soopamom: |
Use cheap flights.com, Egyptair cost 479k from Abuja to Sydney for 23rd February 2018, I realized flights from Abuja are way cheaper than flights from Lagos. Check for 5th March 2018, it should be similar to the one i saw. Besides, I have used Egyptair on my second visit to the UK from Naij, their hospitality is very okay too, I never experrerred it. There was a stop over at Cairo and we were lodged in a five star hotel prior to leaving for the UK. I remembered we were discussing that no one had an idea they were that efficient. Blazegab: |
@lawland, This is a beautiful advice, I will attach the request checklist PDF sent to me by DIBP and follow that with a call on Monday morning. God bless yoy bruv, we visa hopefuls will all testify in Jesus name. As aan addendum, concerning the queue and the non completion of November applicants, different COs have different speeed , but at the end every one of us go get grant, just to encourage us ALL. lawland: |
@DidoKev, Your suggestion was the first thought i had, but i can confirm that I did not tick that option. I reckon that the late commencement date letter requested by DiBP falls under the evidence of study in their opinion. Thanks anyways. I guess I will contact them by Monday morning to make the enquiries you raised. Cheers DidoKev: |
