TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 19 by folla: 3:42pm On Jun 04, 2021
Hi MindfulV

There was no allusion to her study permit application in the employer's reference letter. The employer's letter simply stated that the applicant was seeking to visit Canada during her leave period and that she be assisted in the process.

I hope the above satisfy your enquiry.

MindfulV:
Congratulations to you and wifey.

Please, I am curious about the content of the reference letter from her employer. Was there any allusion to her study permit application (meaning she disclosed her intention to her employer) or the letter just introduced her as a staff seeking a temporary residence visa?

Praise God!!!!

Hi Everyone,

I have been a silent reader all along and this post is on behalf of my wife.

She applied for Canadian study visa on 18/02/2021 and since then the waiting game started. This morning, she opened her mail and coincidentally, 2 emails dropped from IRCC within the space of about 3 minutes. Could it be the good news we all have been waiting for? The emails stated that there were messages to be checked in the profile.

We summoned the courage to check her profile and lo and behold, it was an approval! Both PPR and BvL came at about the same time. We thank God Almighty for the success.

A lot happened in-between the time of the application and PPR. She had sent several webforms seeking to know status of the application. IRCC always responded with the generic emails, starting with "under active review" and then later to "in process". Yet we kept faith alive. She also had to migrate her international passport into a new one, just because her old passport would expire early next year, whereas she will be going for a 2-year program. When she obtained the new passport (this process took about 6 weeks), she notified IRCC by webform. She had to also defer her admission from Summer to Fall of 2021 and she notified IRCC by webform.

Her timeline is as follows:

- Upfront Medical: 7/12/2020 at QLife
- Applied: 18/02/2021
- Biometrics Request: 19/02/2021
- Biometrics done: 24/02/2021
- Medical Updated to Passed: 26/02/2021
-PPR and BvL: 3/06/2021

Her supporting documents are as follows:

6) NYSC Certificate

She is 39 years old and has 3 kids between 6-10. She was very anxious because of her age and also because she is seeking for a 2nd masters program. We weren't sure what IRCC would say to these.

The kids did not apply with her. They will apply for study permits as soon as her PP is stamped. I hope I am not leaving out any important info.

Nairaland has been a blessing to me and my family. Many thanks for the selfless service rendered by all the gurus on this thread. These efforts will return to you in blessings. I wish all study visa hopefuls, success. We shall all be congratulated at the end. The journey was tortuous, but she could not have given up. Please don't give up!

I do hope that this post has given fresh hope to someone on the journey. That is the essence.

With God all things are possible!!!

kokoli:
congrats to you both! That's a good one. Your post is uplifting. please I.need some clarifications. I have a similar profile with you.I applied too in October but was denied because they said I had unexplained deposit which happened to ne my fixed deposit. Although I did not include the certificate from my bank,but I explained in my cover letter. that it was my fixed deposit. I was told I needed to explain the source of the fundd. So now,

1. who gave you the lettet you referred to in number 7? Did you write the letter yourself or the letter originated from your bank?
2. How did you prove the funds belonged to you and was not for the purpose of facilitating your visa application?
3. please kindly show a breakdown of yoour costs.
4. how many days were you planning to spend and the cost of you hotel accommodation.
1. We wrote the letters ourselves and addressed them to: "The Consular General, British Deputy High Commission, 11 Walter Carrington Crescent, Victoria Island, Lagos".

2. We did this by supporting with fixed deposit certificates. You must note also that our 6 months payslips show how our salaries were paid and how transfers were made from there to the investment company.

3. For instance, my costs added up to 1,396 GBP and the breakdown is as follows: 775 for air ticket; 371 for accommodation; 150 for feeding for 10 days; and 100 for intra-city transport for 10 days. My wife had similar costs minus accommodation.

4. We plan to spend 10 days during the Christmas holidays and hotel for 9 nights costs 371 GBP.

Please how much did you state as your salary? Did you said you want to sponsor your wife or she sponsored herself? Please give us a hint of how much your budget for the trip was. Thank you sir.
My stated salary was my monthly gross minus the PAYE.

I did not sponsor my wife. She sponsored herself, in order to reduce complications.

My budget was 1,396 GBP, while hers was 1,025 GBP. They did not add up to our 2 months salaries.

Congratulations. Please, did you apply for standard or priority visa?
We applied for standard visit visas.

Hello everyone in the house.

I wish to salute Justwise, Ekpotek and all other gurus on this forum. Well done for the selfless service being rendered to humanity. I have been a silent follower for years, but decided to make this post in the hope that some persons will benefit therefrom.

My wife and I applied for UK Visit Visas and we were both given. She applied for 6 months, while I did for 2 years. She is a 1st time applicant, while I have been to the UK once, like 7 years ago. Then I was given a 2 year HSMP work visa, but only travelled once and stayed for 14 days. I have other international travel histories, though.

Our time lines are as follows:

1. Submitted online applications at about 10 October 2018;

2. Biometrics was done at the TLSContact Ikeja on 18 October 2018;

3. Emails received from TLS informing us that applications have been transferred to UKVI for processing on 18 October 2018;

4. Emails from UKVI informing that our online applications have been received on 24 October 2018;

5. Emails from TLSContact Ikeja informing that our passports are ready for collection on 1 November 2018;

6. We picked up our passports at the TLSContact Ikeja on 6 November 2018 and found that the passports have been stamped with UK Visit Visas.

Our Supporting Documents are as follows:

1. Letters from our respective employers showing when we were employed, our annual pay and plan to travel to the Uk;

2. Our payslips for 6 months;

3. Our salary account statements for 6 months. She had a credit balance of about N500k, while I had a credit balance of about N1.1m;

4. Photocopies of all our international passports [in colour];

5. Our respective retirement savings account statements;

6. Our respective fixed deposit statements. She had N6m, while I had N7.5m to mature in early December 2018;

7. Letters explaining that the funds in the fixed deposits would be available to us for our travel;

8. Our hotel reservation on booking.com;

9. Marriage certificate;

10. 2 family pictures;

11. A schedule of our itinerary in London which shows all the interesting places we planned to visit in London;

12. Breakdown of our respective costs of travel, i.e feeding, tickets, accommodation, intra-city transport. We ensured our respective costs were not up to our 2 months salaries;

13. Our children's birth certificates;

14. Our landed property document, jointly owned; and

15. Rent receipt for our present accommodation.

I do hope the information above would assist, at least, one person in his visa application.

I wish all the UK Visit Visa applicants success.

Do not wait until this offer is gone, before you wake up to show interest!

Be informed that the Ajah Roundabout flyover is near completion and traffic along the Badore/Langbasa Road will disappear, hence prices of property along that axis will go up. This is the right time to buy at cheap prices.

Please note that the price of these buildings is cheap, considering the ever increasing costs of building materials in Nigeria today. In practical terms, the selling price will hardy replicate a similar structure.

It is indeed a good time to buy!
