IbeOkehie:
I'm continually forced to question these assumptions.

In the 1970s during the Oil Boom, a lot of Nigerians with skills and education from abroad migrated back to Nigeria permanently, with no Green Cards or foreign citizenship. Maybe because I attended an FGC, I knew a lot of these people....but even in the small towns I grew up in, some of the local regular workers were returnees from abroad. I mostly grew up in a small tourist town in Imo State.

The local post master returned from Greece. The doctor who attended the births of my siblings was a returnee from Germany. The local vetenarian returned from UK. At least 3 of the school teachers came back from UK or USA. Heck, there were TWO Asian Indians families who were teachers too!

So there must have been many more such people in the bigger cities of Lagos, PH, Enugu and Ibadan. Have you heard of Pius Adesanmi, the Yoruba writer who died in the Ethiopia Airline crash? His family returned to Nigeria from UK and he wrote a bit on the internet about growing up with that background in Nigeria.

How come nobody talks about what happened to those families? Did they prosper? Did they regret returning or were they happy?

There were families that refused to return to Nigeria in the 1970s and remained abroad, some ILLEGALLY. Their children lost their connection to Nigeria. How do they or their parents feel about that?

Do you people ever ask yourselves what were the outcomes? Today 50 years later, what were the lessons learned? 🤔 It beats me silly that there's an entire body of experience and statistics that can guide our decisions and people are still stuck on speculation.

In particular I've asked @Gerrard and a few others that I suspect should know. How come nobody ever discusses this issue?

Anyway Oga, nature will take its course, pun intended. See I didn't make any claim about what is better or about the value of a connection to our native land. All I'm asking is, has anyone bothered to ask what happened to those who have lived through similar times in the past? Yes, because this isn't the first mass migration in our history. Because I remember when Buhari was President back in 1985, he was urging Nigerians to stop migrating abroad. Jakpa was called "Andrew" back then.

So Oga Nature your worries are beyond your power. Igbo people say use your tongue to count your teeth.

Good Luck to Nigeria.
Hmmm.... Good luck to us

Tuition is not my own problem as it's sorted.

Just want to know any reason a visa could be denied. It is stated in my uni's website that they will only issue a refund if you are denied visa under some few conditions.

I have study gap of more than 5 years, is this a problem when applying for visa? During this period, I was self employed running my own sole agency.
The major reason for visa refusal is fake documentation. Submit offer letters, referrals and other relevant documents to show what you've been doing since you left school. Ensure those documents have correct email address, phone numbers and physical addresses. If your POF account is not the same as your salary account, don't attach your salary documents to the application. The verification officer might call your employers and also send mails to them to verify the documents you sent to them. You might also be called. So know all the details in the documents. Your salaries, the date you started a particular job, your roles ,etc. Best of luck

You will never hear this kind of news about USA students.

UK is just another glorified 3rd world country. How student no go fit get some hustle off campus or even tuition assistance to support them? Graduate school for that matter.

No graduate assistantship, no teaching assistantship, no tuition remission, no graduate school funds, no on campus job, no off campus care or gas jobs, no eatery jobs.

So if you’re gonna depend on your parent or family in Nigeria for 2 years tuition of almost 24k pounds, then that means you’re rich in Nigeria before.

How many UK citizens even fit afford that amount out of pocket?

To add on top am, they still won’t allow you to bring dependent easily again to work and support. So why are you blasting almost 40k pounds on UK admission/processing/bank statements/housing/bills/feeding when you’ll eventually end up begging for ordinary food?
hmmm. Thank you so much for this contribution. What advice do you have for someone who has the dream of relocating for a better life

Beauty of a woman begins from the tummy and her buttocks.

Once a lady have flat tummy and a protruding buttocks, and lucky with an average sized firm boobs, she is gorgeous and will make heads turn.

Dear ladies, please take care of your tummy, it's very important, watch what you eat, avoid late night dinner or meals, eat early at night and make drinking water a habit.

If you can afford it, eat fruits everyday. Learn to do squatting exercise. Always watch your tummy, once your tummy gets big, it will be difficult for you to pass as a hot beautiful lady.

Avoid sugary foods.

Avoid nkwobi, red meats, eba at night, beer, alcohol. Avoid unnecessary body piercing and tattoo, who fine don fine
What should we do when our tummy refuses to go back to being flat after childbirth ...

Nigerians hardly default on fees it's the exchange rate that messed things up.

Previously before June 2023 with 6 million you have covered school fees 100% but now u need at least 22 million and above to cover fees. I'll need to pay #30M to cover 100% tuition fees. I've been thinking about what #30M can do for me in Nigeria

Larger percentage of Nigeriand coming via student visa just want to Japa not neccessary school.
They intend to pay some percentage of school fees while work to pay. And also get sponsorship after school.
While all this was possible initially, right now everywhere is filled up as the government is known to sell immigration via various visa schemes. Getting sponsorship now is 99% impossible. With new visa schemes, bank HSBC and other companies had to withdraw employment given to new recruits thls week.

Coming without dependant is 100% impossible to foot your bills being a student now let alone paying school school fees.

Stop selling ur properties please please cry

So our people should know this, stop wasting money. We know Nigeria is hard but let's strategies elsewhere or put the money into businesses, farming etc than do the impossible
Still waiting for decision on my visa. But honestly I hope there won't be a decision until June 17 when enrollment closes in my school so I can get a refund. I've been having panic attacks since I read here about recent the present UK not so good for student visa. My school collected £5500 tuition deposit. After mailing them about not getting a decision yet on my visa, I was asked to enroll and start accessing online materials. At the point of doing so, I was asked to pay 50% of my tuition balance, £4975. I consulted a friend who advised I wait until the outcome of my visa because the school's refund policy is not on their website. The initial agreement is £5500 tuition deposit, 50% tuition balance at the beginning of the second semester and the balance of 50% tuition deposit at the beginning of the 3rd semester.
Honestly, I just want my money back. I will stay in Nigeria and go back to my poultry business and add mixed crop farming with my job at the hospital. If their immigration policies go back to being fair, I can think of going there if there are better opportunities

Married women should always learn to stay with the real father of their children. Packing your kids to a man that didn’t birth them is risky. Things are happening these days. Most guys don’t actually care about women with kids, all they want is their money. They can become something else if they’re not getting the money. So far your husband is not physically assaulting you, remain in that marriage for your own sake and that of your children. Nothing dey outside!
What happens when a husband turns abusive? Many Nigerian women don't want to be single mothers. They had to choose divorce or death

I recently submitted my student visa application and biometrics . I uploaded all my documents except the CAS statement because I have read that all you need is the CAS number which I included.
My question is. Is it compulsory to upload the statement itself?
Relax, the visa office will request for it if needed

UK is worth it but the main question is do you have the funds to complete your fees? Funds to pay rent likewise

Remove ur mind from job as job no de as student. People stays 10 months no job. Some stays and get job after two months then in the fourth month they lost it.
Some friends will tell u to come, they will help u secure a job.. Bla Bla Bla. But please don't rely on anyone as regards jobs.. Because same people will not pick ur calls when school start asking their balance

So if u get ur funds... School fees 100%,house rent likewise then it's worth it.
Wish I had read something like this in March. Wouldn't have stucked my head in the process. There's no going back now. Deposit paid, visa applied for. Praying for ease

The visit is proper and good but at least he should have looked more serious and show a sense of solace. Someone just died there and you are visiting them sporting a face cap with your hands in different pockets, posing and showing your swag. More like a kid going for a football match. Doesn't show respect to the occasion.
Someone just died? I thought he just paid a surprise visit. Didn't know it was related to someone's death
