This story is unbelievable. How were the hackers able to get PIN and biometrics to authenticate the transaction? To login into Opay app, they will need login access code or biometrics, do they also hack this too? Let's assume they can hijack the OTP and all by taking over the phone, how were they able to pass through facial verification process? Do the hackers hijack Opay database too?

Farouk has won the first battle by convincing Tinubu to upturn the 15% import tariff for petroleum products where is due to start this January. In another battle, Farouk successfully granted licences to importers to bring cheap up in the country, a supply that is going to last through Q1 2026. That is double blow.

All Dangote has done is bite dust and make silly allegations which make gullible Nigerians go on wild goose chase. We all saw how he lied about dirty and substandard fuel been imported into Nigeria, meanwhile evidence from regulators have shown that even his own diesel are substandard. Dangote petrol does not meet European standard.

That fails to sell, he came up with blending of Petrol in Malta. Everybody have search with no tangible result where the blending terminal or refinery in Malta is. It all turns to be lie. Fact is it is cousin in Oando who are into bringing fuel from Malta.

All of these have failed and will continue to fall flat. Farouk is going nowhere and Dangote will be frustrated to sell fuel at 500/litre or he should sell his fuel to them in Burkina Faso or Mali, no be by force to sell to Nigeria.

What's important is that since we do not other refinery to compete nor Dangote having the capacity to supply us sustainably (Dangote is not having the strength to meet up Nigeria daily needs) , importers should be allowed to import. And competition should be allowed.

It's not possible for imported fuel to be cheaper than local fuel, its not economically sensible. Nigeria has the raw material - crude. Imported fuel will incure, loading cost from refinery to port, shipping cost including insurance from loading port Nigerian port, import duties and other taxes at the port, then ofloading costs to fuel depots. Dangote fuel does not incur this costs.

The reason imported ports seems cheaper is because of the low quality of imported fuels, importers first import regular fuels from refineries abroad, the shop it to other countries for blending, the blend the fuel to make it cheaper, and then import this poor quality fuel to Nigeria.

Dangote is an upstart in the business no matter how big his refinery is. The old guards don't want to lose their business, all who import their wares to an upstart, or be subject to him I.e. have to buy from him

The Petroleum Industry Bill actually states that imports of refined fuels must stop once there is sufficient refining capacity in the country. Those who can import are only those who have refining capacity. That means only Dangote can import.

Tinubu refuses to enforce this part of the Bill as he did not want Dangote to become a monopoly. Had it been OBJ, Jonathan, or Buhari in office, this would have been implemented ASAP.

Nevertheless, competition has to be fair. I suspect these importers are involved in sharp practices.

The evidence abounds out there, that the importers had gotten cheaper fuel and supplied at a price fairer than Dangote's.

It is a fact that the importers are the one who forces the hand of Dangote to reduce price because they always flood the market with cheap Russian fuel. So in this view, competition must be made alive at all cost.

Dangote reduced his price to corner the people, their sympathy and every other things to himself. He then systematically attack NMDPRA, choosing the head, Farouk, for his hits. The question is that why should Dangote lose sleep if anyone choose to import their productd and sell at lose? Another question people fail to ask, what magic happened now that made Dangote reduce the price of his product? Has crude oil price in the international market crashed? Did FG waived import duties or the shipping cost suddenly reduced? All along, Dangote is manipulating the market selling exhorbitantly to Nigerians and now that he sees some guys ar going out to bring in fuel which could compete with him, he panicked, rush and reduced price, and now attacking NMDPRA for issuing licence for importation. What he has been doing is profiteering which is a crime.

Nigeria should wise up, the Greek gift and sudden Santa gifting from Dangote is to weed out competition. And the importers are here to stay. If they can get fuel at a reduced price from anywhere, they should be allowed to do it.

The men are readily available with sophisticated weapons used in fighting wars in Libya, Sudan and other weapons from Arab spring fall out. The weapons are there, so are the fighters. So these mining investors give shared percentage for their job.

But business expands and they have to spread across the land which leads to the crisis we have in our country today.
