Hahahaha I saw the news on TV morning talk show (Your View). It was really funny view. But I had a serious observation. The hostesses were all defending their religion. There was this Alhaja and a professed Catholic among the four hostesses, they were both defending their religion, claiming Islam and catholism doesn't not encourage disturbance of the public... Only the callers stood in and defended the said man. |
Replay OF Aba women protest... This time around, na full unclothedness dem bring come front. |
ojobolinda:The Bible didn't day thou shall not kill, it rather said thou shall not murder. There is huge moral differences between kill and murder. The Hebrew differences between "harag" (killing) and "ratzah" (murder) and notes the different moral connotations. Albeit, the person whom that said law was handed over to went on killing rampage yet was not punished. The point here is suicide. Show me where it is written in the Bible where it is declared that side is sin |
The intelligent discussion/debate from the atheists, pagans, Christians and Muslims make this section a place to behold decade ago. It was a fracal between science and faith on a side, and Christian and Muslim on other. Then, more than 2,000 people follow discuss here in a day. The politics section only picked up the trend in 2014. Today, religion section is a ghost of itself. Both the Islam for Muslim section and general religion are shadow of it past... |
Released from that bar called marriage. It was hell and a nightmare. Everything about it mirrors the Inferno written by Dan Brown. At first, the thoughts and reality of it overwhelmed me. I was a ghost to myself and totally a shadow. But I survived it. I now enjoy a relative peace of mind. That horror, tremendous fear and sorrow isn't there. I look back and smile, realising that inner peace is priceless |
Good one. There is already a growing panic on the street and market. Those women are rejecting old paper notes. I don't know why we create unnecessary issue for ourselves in this country. |

ojobolinda:Who told you suicide is a sin? |
His case should remain unresolved and pending for the next decades. After all, we have thousands of prisoners who are awaiting trial or case file missing for years. Èmi emere should not be any different. He has brought hardship to the nation, made many lose fortune and also some precious lives lost. He brought the financial system to the ground. As a matter of fact, he should be kept with condemned criminals who will beat the hell out of him |
Ajaero or whatever is name is is setting up himself for a political office in the future. He is prolly going to contest for a political office and he is doing everything to get himself on that spot drawing all the needed attentions. Oshiomole did same and became a Governor in Edo. But this gimmick won't make people think he is on their sides. It is so obvious even to a kid that all his moves are anti-people. The recent strike like ever before brought more hardship on the masses. In Imo, he is definitely going to fail. And on national scale, he is Igbo and cannot be trusted with either legislative or executive power. He putting reason for a continued distrust for Igbos who do not know how to handle power |
Stoplying:You've said goodbye, there no point saying 'hello' |
TrumpBiden:Nairaland somewhere around 2013 is a place where you get to learn from intellectuals. The religion section then was flooded by intelligent folks from Islam, Christian, pagans and atheist class. I got my voice on my religious stance from the hot debate they had then because it helped me to learn and exposes many things. This debates were devoured of insults and bale. I don't know where the influx of youths who are filled with venom come from. They have collapsed all sections on this forum. Culture, religion, politics, science and other sections are completely dead, devoid of in depth discussion. What we have now is vile and |
Vl3ly:You dug up this junk as evidence? How does this negate my claim that Arab natives who make up the population of palestines today do not have DNA connection with Philistines? |
TrumpBiden:I will have to crawl back. The ignorance on nairaland today is alarming. Soyinka is always right about Nigeria youth ignorance |
Stoplying:Many have been found.. Artifacts, carcass and documents. Philistine existed and have no relationship with Palestinians of Arab natives |
TrumpBiden:Honestly I don't understand why they seem to weeve sentiment with history. Anyone have right to side with anybody. As a matter of fact, the genocide and rampaging destruction in Gaza today makes me tilt with Palestinians. But the history have made me more confused. I don't know who is who, Palestine is the land of Philistines, the Palestinians today are Arab natives who do not have relationship with Philistine. Israel add to the confusion, Jerusalem was occupied by Jerubite and conquered by David. It is a world of migration, domination and conquest.. But the question stands, who own Palestine region including Israel state in the ancient past |
Stoplying:What has Nairaland become. From a hub of intellectual discussion to where people cannot engage themselves without throwing jabs.. Pathetic. 1 Excavated Carcass can give a lead into DNA investigation. 2. You have to check my history on this forum to see my stance on religion. I do not subscribe to any religion persay. And in this discussion is centred on history rather than religion. I do not understand why you are weaving religion with it. History has showed us that Roman Emperor changed the name of Judea to Palestine. Isn't that history? 3. I strongly believe you didn't read through the link you sent. The ashkenazi jews are disaporans who were exiled from Empires who took control of the region but intermarried with local women and men who they met in Europe. This does not makes them complete alien or lacking Jewish gene pool. 4. You do not have understating about the history of that region. You are only biased and sided with whatever. |
BentizilL0:Several accounts like seriously? I simply asked a question and made an address about the history of that region. I am not in on this hot air. This is not a discussion about moral standing regarding the escalations in the that region It is more about who is the rightful owner of the land. If you can help with that please do. And if not abeg pack well |
Stoplying:1. The philistines were not just biblical figures. Herotodus, Josephus, and several historians in the ancient past wrote about them. The excavation from Egypt shows Philistine were sea farer from Greece. They fought wth Egyptian Ramesses III who settled his captive in the southern Canaan. The land Palestine belongs to the philistine. This is history not theology. 2. The temple is a Jewish structure. The cities is their establishment. And DNA information have justified the relationship of the Jewish settlement today with ancient Levant. 3. Well you can submit your facts.. There is no need dragging this too far 4. Help the ignorant me. ![]() |
Fash20:The palestines do not relate with Philistine who are the aborigines. They are Arabs |
Stoplying:This is an unnecessary clap back and do not address the question. 1. One can argue that Palestinians are Arabs because they do not have DNA similarities with the Philistines. Why would they lay claim to Palestine? 2. Jerusalem, Galilee, Judea and many of the Israel settlements predate 1948. Was the second temple built in Europe too? 3. I for one do not buy facts from religious text. However, we can never throw the entire texts in construction of facts. I understand Jew nation isn't peculiar about ethnicity but religious standings. However, DNA similarly between modern Israel and people of the Levant cannot be dismissed. This is biological fact |
Stoplying:I have been a silent reader of this thread. And I have been doing some extensive reading and debates so as to have a full grasp facts in that region. I don't know if you care to provide answers, I have some questions I would like to ask. I saw a video and have read reports from Palestine where Palestinians claim that their land was occupied and gruesomely annexed by Israel. Meanwhile, the Israelite have shown in history that they settled and well established by founding a city or kingdom in that region in the historical past. They added that it was Emperor Hadrian who actually changed the city of Judea to Syria Palestine, meaning it was historic Jewish city. Adding to the background, Israel has argued that Hadrian had wanted to erase the Jewish identity. (I do not actually agree with this stand). And went on to claim that the name Palestine is derived from Philistine of the ancient world. However, they argued that the Arab Palestinian natives are not direct descendants of Philistines so the were simply laying claim to that land as a Arab dominating agenda of the region. While I do not want to deploy the bible on historic discussion, the old testament has shown that philistines settled in Gaza. However, historical documents from Herotodus to Ovid to Josephus has shown that Palestinian doesn't have a specific geographical boundaries. It may cover the western sides of Mesopotamia, connecting what Egypt to what is known today as Lebanon. So this prompt question, how did the philistines history got wiped off? How and when did Israel established themselves and cities and religion in Palestine? How did Israel occupy Palestine when it has been established that they settled in this area millenia ago? Who are the actual owner of the region today? |

edunaragold:Hahahahaha I had a believe when I was a young tad, that marriage is a kinda prison without bars. The emotionally investment is a weapon in the hand of every women. After a decade in that toxic relationship, I observed nothing is changing about her. As a matter of fact, she will get worse by the day. Man just have to abandon her in her madness and seek for peace elsewhere. I later found out that that peace is within me all these while without knowing. |
maestro299:Yes bro.. |
OkCornel:This is nothing new. If you have used betsite from other African countries like Ghana and Kenya, you would have known that their Government tax them heavily on stakes and winning. This applies to South Africa, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Zambia, etc. I know this because I engage bettors from African countries and Europe everyday and see their tickets. In Kenya for example, Government charge 5% on stakes and 20% on winnings. Meaning if you stake a game with 1,000ksh, your actual stake is 950ksh. And if you win a 10 odds game with that 950ksh, your actual winning is 7,600. This implies Kenya Government have taken away 2,400ksh as tax. This varied with Nigeria where bettors would win actual 10,000 naira for staking 1,000 naira on 10 odds. All the bet sites in Kenya from Betika to Sportybet or betpawa or charge heavily on stakers there. Only 1xbet doesn't tax them but one has to own a paypal or skrill to operate it. This applies to stakers in Ghana too. You can ask anyone from Ghana how they operate there. In Turkey, Government only charge 5% on withdrawal of winnings. The popular bet there is betelephant. But none of this applies to Nigerian. Some of my friends in Kenya and Ghana, I help them register those bet accounts, and Opay. Then they get their money without tax using eversend... This is how we operate under radar. Should Government start taxing betsite in Nigeria, that mean we will move to Europe or South America. Na dem go tire.. In all honesty, Nigerians are enjoying. We live in an almost free tax nation. The Government should just look elsewhere and not add a burden on the citizens. If they increase tax on the betting site, those companies can easily transfer the burden on their customers. |

What is the percentage of those Christians and Muslims that engage in traditional spirituality? The percentage of devoted Christians and Muslims in Nigeria is not up to 30% each. The rest are pagans behind the doors |
