That's so sad... I'm sure you will get it if the school write the embassy and if you choose to defer, just remember all the answers to her question in this interview cos they keep records.. Just give the whatever VO that interview you next and they will issue you VISA.. Spring 2014 is around the corner..

I consider you to have the VISA already if not for the resumption date.

lentywilly: Hello House I've been a secret member of this forum.
Post some comments once in a blue moon.
My Interview was today at the Abuja Embassy.
Interviewed by a lady on Counter 9... She was s☺ nice, she even gave Visa to a guy that didn't know the state his school was located.
But I was denied anyway by her reasons she stated.
Here is how my interview went.

Me: Good Day Ma.
VO: Good Day Son.
Me: How are you doing.
Vo: I'm wonderful. You Williams right?
Me: Yes.
VO: Woow! You're s☺ tall, you like Michael Jordan, you play basketball.
Me: Yes Ma.
VO: What School are you applying to?
Me: Purdue Unoversity Calumet.
VO: Where's it located in the Us?
Me: Hammond, a city Northwest of Indiana state.
VO: Great... Like how cold is your school?
Me: during Winter is very cold, Temp vary from -1c to -10c.
VO: Woow! Seems you really know this school that much, How did you know about the school?
Me: My course Advicer was an alumni of the school and he told me much about the school how friendly and willing the professors are and it has a good curriculum and security system.
VO: Go on.... (She keeps typing)
Me: I checked it out on Usnews it was ranked highest in midwest regional universities.
VO: Great. S☺ when did you finish your secondary school.
Me: 2005.
VO: What have you been doing then?
Me: I did my undergraduate program in Mech Eng at Federal University Of Technology Owerri.
VO: When did you finish?
Me: 2011.
VO: What have you been doing since then.
Me: I did my nysc last year which I finished early this year.
VO: Have you traveled before?
Me: Yes Ma. To Ghana.
VO: Purpose Of your trip?
Me: Went to visit my Aunt.
VO: How is she?
Me: She's doing great.
VO: Who is sponsoring You?
Me: My Uncle.
VO: What does he do for a living& what's his salary like?
Me: He owns a construction company and not placed on salary because he is the CEO.
VO: Why is he sponsoring You?
Me: Right from my childhood I've been his favourite nephew, and he keeps telling my parents that he'll sponsor me through any education level to make sure I own a company like his.
VO: Yeah! Go on... (She keeps typing)
Me: He also contributed to 80% of my fees for both my secondary and tertiary education.
VO: This your uncle really loves you, Can I see his statement?
Me: passed it to her. She looks through the final balance.. Screams woow! Really huge amount.
VO: what is his construction company into?
Me: construction of oil tankers for mobil, oando, agip, ap, Total and s☺ on.
VO: She took my passport and was about to say those magical words and suddenly she screamed woooooooooooooooow! You I-20 reads resumption date of 12th August and it says not later than that date. I intend issuing you a visa by then, s☺ I can't. You have to tell the school to write to us for an extension.
Me: I was shocked couldn't talk again.
VO: Don't worry son, its for your own good. You may be deported at the Us airport for this, s☺ which is wise? Re applying or deporting?
Me: Still shocked as she handed me those papers. #sad faced#...

House please I've not heard of this type oo since I started going through this thread.
Thanks Baba imperiouxx, your advice helped.

I feel you but must let you know that you should relax.

prof cleopas is no longer with NITDA but I can assure you if nothing go wrong with Champs, you are cool with NITDA because the integrity of the chairman of the scholarship board is firm.

Just keep your fingers crossed.

CHAIRMAN1: Viewing dis topic, amb dan, whizkidy, bad ass nigga.

Hmm its just 6am and some niggas dey there. Abi una sleep untop this thread?

Something is begginning to tell me that this prolonged delay may be used to manipulate things. Last yrs scholars wrote theirs manually and from what people said, Dr Cleophas single handedly marked the scripts, albeit painstakingly. The reults were released in 30 days. This year's was more automated. It was computer marked and we saw our scores that same day. Now anyone in his right senses would know that something fishy is in the pipeline. Or how can we xplain the incessant delay? I can assure the people in chargee that no irregularity will go unpunished. God will fight our battles for us.

webstradamus: Lol ... obviously you didn't get my drift. What I meant was having access to drive newer car models is very easy here as rental companies make them available. You don't need to own these cars or know someone who does before you can have a feel of how well they drive. You simply rent and it's pretty cheap too!

That said, buying a car here is also not a big deal grin Depending on your credit, you can drive out a brand new 2014 luxury car from the dealership without making any down payments and then pay for the car over 72 months grin Driving a "big" car does not translate to being a "big" man here. But you lucky you already have a wife here who's gainfully employed, I bet she would expedite your integration here and I won't be surprised if you start talking about buying a house in a few months time! You sure have a very bright future bro ... Oluwa is involved in your story wink
Yeah bro @ Oluwa is involved... I pray He's always involved.

webstradamus: Haha ... no biggie about that. It's a normal rental car here ... lol. You go drive newer motor u go tire grin grin grin

When you finish studying the guide, you can prep for the knowledge (written) test with this website: http://driversprep.com/test.php?state=il

That's what I used in my time. If you're into IT Cert dumps, that website is the equivalent for driving tests wink

I know you did SAT and that your result didnt show up plus all comment and suggestions given to you by the house. Can remember Bigfrancis told you not to go with the slip and stuff..
my point is, you should fix that by writing another SAT and an awesome TOEFL score as against the one you have presently.. Then going to meet VOs would make a lot of sense.

OjaP: @ bolded : You get mouth sir. If you can get a high paying job, you can pay them back the money...shouldn't be a biggie.

If I were you, I would defer my admission by a semester so you don't spend that much on school. This way, your number will be in line for Adjustment of Status to green card through marriage since your wife started the process already. This shouldn't take more than 3-5 months. You get your 1year work permit within 30-60days. This will allow you to work.

I would then demand a refund of the remaining money from my school since I will be paying in state. The refund will then be put into good use by investing. So many ways to go about this. Plan well bro.

Good luck!!
Sounds good, you can throw more light on this and advise further Sir.

imperiouxx: How does the scholarship from home country work? Is it finish and return home or have grace of working abroad for some years?
Ordinarily, if any government of developing country offer scholarship, the beneficiaries are expected to impact the economy with whatever they might have learned in the program they sponsored. So, it is suppose to be return home immediately after schooling where things work.

Conversely, In Nigeria, the sponsor agency will even state it clearly that they do not guaranty the scholars any job on return. So, what is the scholar expected to come and do in the country? Logically, I believe working oversees would make a better CV for you in your home country meaning when you eventually return, you can get at least job in private firms.

I work for government and I know of some people that were sponsored for 7 years bachelors + master in any part of the world (mostly northerners) and the sponsor agency does not even have the records of the beneficiaries...

Think and reflect to the above, I'm sure you wont blame any scholar that choose to work oversees and so as the agency wont blame them

OjaP: Are you sure of this? Most people who get similar scholarships are always told to come back and work immediately after schooling, usually for 2 years. The only exception is if you are willing to pay back whatever amount they spent on you with interest. This may be different for NITDA sha.
Not sure though.. Just my thought along the statement in the terms and conditions.. If so, I still dont have problems, would have gotten my green card before i finish my masters and my job is still waiting here as i am going on a study leave pay for 2 years... So, can easy come and invest in Naija for 3 years and go back to USA if i wish...

bigfrancis21: Glad to know its NiTDA scholarship. I was aware last year when the scholarship was on. I started applying sef. I created an account, filled out the form and then got to the document upload page and discovered the NYSC requirement meanwhile I had just finished University then. I even emailed them asking if I could still apply without NYSC discharge certificate and they replied me immediately saying I should wait till next year's program when I should have been through with my NYSC. So I stopped my application. sad I still have my username and password with me. sad

Though I don't like the bond part where you must return to work in Nigeria.

Congratulations anyway!
"bolded.. You forgot the fact that you are not being forced to return immediately. All they stated was to return to naija to work for 3 years which is not difficult for me cos I dont plan to die in the USA.. All I need is gather enough knowledge in USA through schooling and working as long as I wish and return to Nigeria to be a director at a very good agency like NITDA and serve for as long as I can which would surely be more than three years

You must be a Nigerian and must have completed NYSC.

The agency in charge is National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA).

Its is available for masters and Ph.D.

Moreover, I have bin following the trend which has made mi become very familiar wit likely questions @ and d experience for the pre and post F1-visa acquisition to the US. I was at the Lagos embassy yesterday,August 1 for 7:30 am and I got my visa approved within 3mins.No single documents was asked. I missed my way twice while going outside. Security had to shout on me that I shud use d exit cos d visa has bin approved. Till now, is still doin mi like play-like play. Although, I had confidence in God that they would give me, but getting there I became so nervous that my head and ears wre so hotttt and coupled wit d fact that d place was not even conducive at all. I was not even conscious of what was going on the d embassy. I can't say rate if visa issuance/denial that yesterday. All I was conscious of was the fact that I carried GrACE. I will be posting the transcript very soon.
