Kehinde Oseni: Good day house, my interview is tomorrow 10am in Abuja but my SEvIS fee payment is still been process though payment has been received (called SEVIS). Should I still wait till evening or cancel my appointment. If I am too cancel it hope it isn't too late. I have sent a mail to DHS and I'm awaiting there reply.If payment has been received, there should be an option for you to do a printable versison of the receipt. That's enough for your interview I guess cos that's what I have as my hardcopy they mail haven't arrived. |

Hello house, Can gurus in the house help me with the following questions? 1) I got admitted into LOYOLA UNIVERSITY CHICAGO for Masters in Information Technology, I hope the school is not automatic denial like VIU and community colleges? 2) What is the best answer when VO ask why should I grant you a VISA? Awaiting your kind responses. Thanks. |

Hello house, To start with, I want say thank you to all and bigfrancis21 cos he has replied my e-mails to him. Quickly, I just renewed my Int. Passport cos the date I booked for interview could not allow for 6 months validity as required by the embassy. Have filled all forms like DS-160, pay Sevis fee and Visa fee with the hold passport information. What am I suppose to do? I still have the old passport but its been canceled at the passport office. Am I suppose to change the passport details or just go with the two passport and xplan to the VO? Please help with your helpful advises. Also, my brother Imperoux... Have read a post of you on this thread with a full description of weather condition of Mexico ... Kindly help me with such description for Chicago. Awaiting your prompt responses... Regards. |
Hello house, I want gurus in the house to help me with detailed description of weather condition in Chicago. I noticed its one of the questions asked by VOs. @bigfrancis21... I hope I haven't offended you in anyway? You never replied any of my e-mails to you. |
Thanks as usual bigfrancis Please, what can I say about the school as there is no fantastic ranking and all sorts to say about it.. |

I was offered admission at LOYOLA UNIVERSITY CHICAGO and its the only school I applied to in the USA. I hope the school is not an automatic denier like you guyz tag some schools? Please help, the school has no fantastic ranking buh I like the curriculum of the course (MS Information Technology) I applied for and the fee perfectly suit the budget of my awarded scholarship. Please help. |

Thanks alot babsharon. Please help answer my questions as regards the documents... Also, waiting to hear from bigfrancis and other gurus in the house. Regards. |
Hi good people. Please, when the VO ask for my documents, am I suppose to give him/her all my documents as I have too many documents (official, academics, state documents and even pictures to show prove my marriage) or which specific ones should I present? or can I ask him/her to be specific? Also, I need format for study leave with pay letter, company introduction letter and a letter that specify the bond within me and my company. these documents can be sent to fuad@folu-oso.com. Thanks. kindly reply. |
Hello house, Please, I just want to know if 1st of August is still available in Abuja before i cancel my appointment in Lagos. Thanks. |
House, I also need appointment date in abuja for July.. I have 31 of July for lagos buh I want abuja. Pls contact me on 08033954209 or fuad@folu-osom.com Thanks |
@bigfrancis21 You never seize to amaze me and thank you so much for your words of encouragement because I'm actually feeling discouraged. Even before I was introduced to this nairaland forum. I have already indicated that my wife has filed for me in the DS-160 form turning down several advises from people that said if I let the VO know I have relative in the USA, that i would be denied. I indicated because I hate to lie. Also, I understand Information Technology well as I read Computer Science in my first degree O.O.U, Master of Information Science at the University of Ibadan. So, I know the capabilities of USA Information Systems so there is no way they wont be able to tract my record. Also, I pray hard to get the VISA but if I dont, I can go to UK to study and my immigrant VISA would have been ready by the time I graduated so, I'm in no desperate for the VISA. I just want to be with my wife. The school that offered me admission in UK is far rated better than LOYOLA UNIVERSITY CHICAGO that I chose in the USA. Above all, I have a good job here and so do not have any reason to be desperate to leave the country. Again, thank you so much and I must let you know you are well appreciated. |
@anonymous Ok.. thanks. |
@anonymous What do you think abouut my situation? I have a study leave with pay for the period of 2 years and I have full fundng from a scholarship from federal government of nigeria. The study pay has a bond that I must return to nigeria to work for at least 2years before I can resign and the scholarship has a bond that I must return to Ngeria to work for at least 3 years to impact the economy with whatever haev learnt in the program but my fear is, my wife lives in thhe USA and have file immigrant petition for me in March this year. The petition is presently on the initial review stage. What sort of questions should I prepare for? Thanks |
@Bigfrancis21 Thank you so much as you have been really helpful. Where can I fing this new immigrant law and even the old one so I can go through them. |
Thanks for your reply. Let me make some more clarifications why I was thinking of going to Abuja. I work for Federal Government and I'm going to study in USA on a merit-based scholarship awarded by another Federal Government Agency I.e. Not my office. Abuja embassy have a good track of my colleagues cos they usually go for trainings in the US, short ts though. I believe I'm already on a shaky ground because I'm married and my wife live in the USA. Also, she has filled in petition for me for an immigrant VISA which should mature before I finish my proposed masters. The scholarship has a bond that I must return to Nigeria to work for 3years and another bond in my office that I must return to work for 2years before I can resign if I want a study leave for the period of my masters. With all the above said, do you think going to abuja embassy could be an advantage or I still stand an equal chance in lagos too? |

Funny enough, this month Abuja has been having more denials this season while Lagos has been having more successes than Abuja. Have you read the success stories of members posted from this page to like 30 pages backwards? Go back and you'll notice that 90% of all of them went to the Lagos embassy. So my dear, be happy with your choice. I even advised someone this morning against going to Abuja like he earlier planned and booked Lagos for him instead. So, be happy you went for Lagos. [/quote] |
Hello all, This could sound weird but please dont see it like that. I have been advised to go to abuja embassy for my interview cos i heard that success rate is high in abuja than lagos. I could not get a date for abuja but was lucky to get 31st of July in lagos today. What do you suggest I do? Can I request for emergency and tell them to schedule me for abuja? Please reply, thanks. |
