Most wars are not lost because of military strategy. Other factors count. Such as weapons, topography and weather. And as for you first point, it's not really clear. 1.5 million people were not killed with chemical weapons.
And yes, the public outrage from the death and carnage led to the end of that war.
Weapons, typography, and weather disadvantages can all be overcome with the proper strategy. I think there is a saying that that states a group of lions led by a goat would lose to a group of goats led by a lion. It may be bullsh!t, but it has a reasonable meaning. There are several examples of underdogs beating larger armies due to sheer brilliance.

Public opinion was a minor factor and you know it. America never listens to Americans when they start their military adventures and even today, they are not listening to Americans that do not want to see their billions being used to fund other countries' wars. Financial costs, casualties, and lack of meaningful progress is what made them give up. It's the same thing that happened to them in Afghanistan.

The US did not fail to win because of the population of the Vietcong.
The major reason why the US failed to win is because of opinion back home and poor military strategy. If the UK is coming for your oil, it would be the easiest war. They only need to control your oil instillations and it's over. Less than a month.
Public opinion did not stop them from using chemical weapons and killing over 1.5 million people over the course of 10+ years and if you blame it on military strategy, I will remind you that most wars are lost because of poor military strategy so it cannot be an excuse

It is true that Wars aren’t won based on military strength but Politics. Warfare is political game but Nigeria is highly divided. It’s not united. Nigerian soldiers can hardly face Boko Haram or the bandits not to talk of advanced militaries. This is also a hypothetical situation. No nation would ever use a nuclear weapon. That would be political suicide. But if they did the nation that was hit by the nuclear weapons would be in chaos. If Britain launched just 10 nuclear weapons against Nigeria. Nigeria’s situation would make Gaza look like a paradise. Nigeria is a country with population centres around the country. 10 nukes would eliminate much of the infrastructure and people in the country. Loss of life would be colossal. Millions will die. Hunger and Poverty increases dramatically.
I was talking about conventional warfare when I made that post. Nigeria cannot stand any nuclear power

There's no perfect democracy, but some democracies are more matured than the other. Every govt is furthering it's own interest.

I don't understand the areas I 🌟.

Share the link of the protests you was talking bout
There are hundreds of them all over Twitter. For understandable reasons, the Western media isn't giving them enough coverage.

/video/1

/video/1

/video/1

This one went there trying to provoke a reaction. Who in his right mind would do that in a violent, antisemitic protest as they call it?

/mediaViewer?currentTweet=1782756343738232837&currentTweetUser=OnlinePalEng

They are more peaceful than most protests I have seen but Western leaders are all dismissing them as antisemitic gathering, with Netanyahu suggesting that more should be done. Texas has already unleashed the police on them and many are being unjustly arrested and beaten.

You shouldn't be making any estimate based on videos you've seen.
I don't like discussing the Israel/Palestine matter cos of it's complicated nature.
Would you expect Palestine to accept being anti semic or the Israel to accept the genocide claim?

There's no place I said Protest is wrong and I feel like if I continue to express my opinion you'd intensionally misquote me.

Govt determines the extremes of protests, once it gets to a certain threshold as determined by the Govt they would use force.

People can protest and they can also change the govt, atleast democracy allows for that. what other system of govt allows for dissenting views? There's no perfect democracy in the World.

I think the US condemns when the protests leads to deaths as a result of govt high-handedness.

Share a link, so I can read what exactly happened in the protest you're taking about.
@bolded that's my point. but USA and the EU expect others to maintain the standards that they themselves cannot uphold. They expect their enemies to stand down and do nothing even as protests turn into riots, as sponsored "rebels" take up arms against governments. The funny thing is that there's no riot or violence going on, yet they are arresting and threatening students everywhere as if it's Uganda grin

Tiopii:
1-5% is it accurate or your personal opinion?.

Negative utterances from this same minority has lead to violent protests or reactions. You shouldn't be supporting this esp if they are calling to arm.

National interests are determined by the Govt in power, that's the power you give up when you elect or recognize them as your representatives.

On the idea of sponsor, we usually don't have he level of information as the Govt does. certain protest started peaceful but turned violent.

For any protest to be successful, it needs the support of the majority.

All govts including Western are hypocrites.

What protest are you talking bout?
It's my estimate based on all of the videos I have seen, and based on the fact that many Jewish pro-Palestinian protesters have denied allegations of antisemitism.

The feminist movement, the anti Ghaddafi movement, the anti-Assad movement, The Civil Rights movement, the Endsars protest, the anti-military rule student protests in Nigeria, the anti-Apartheid movements, the anti-Netanyahu protests, and a gazillion others all had some bad eggs. Essentially, you are saying that protests are wrong in general.

If you say national interests are determined by the government in power then I agree with you, but I need to know what makes it right for them to use force against peaceful protesters to defend the said interest under a democratic setting. Any dictator can use this logic you are using.

People are protesting against their taxes being used fund an ongoing genocide thousands of miles away from their home while homeless people are dying of starvation and college debts are enslaving them. They are protesting against illegal settlements in Palestinian lands and the mass starvation and dehumanization strategy against Palestinians. Even if the protests are being sponsored, the government shout find a way to cut the head of the snake rather than doing what they have been condemning every other country for doing.

Like I have said before, this is what I have been hoping for. I know that no amount of protests would make USA change its relations with Israel so it's best that the World's biggest vendor of democracy is seen beating and harassing protesters. Interesting days are coming

Democracy allows for more peaceful means to channel your requests.

At the end of the day, when the Govt was sworn in, they were given certain power and privileges, if the Govt determines that the protest is against national interests or have shady sponsors they have the power to response with force.

And democracy allows for anyone to contest elections, if you don't like the present govt dealings you can change them via elections.

The protest itself has sent the message it was intended to send.
1-5% of protesters chanting negative utterances doesn't make a protest violent unless you want to tell me that all protests are violent.

And I've never heard of any school of thought on democracy stating that peaceful protests that go against national interest can be thwarted, given that national interest is a subjective concept. There's also no proof that anybody is sponsoring the protests. Protests also go beyond just sending a message. They can persist until action or compromise is taken by the government.

And assuming you are right, what do you have to say about Western governments condemning crackdown on protesters in other countries? Do you agree that they are hypocrites?

Every right has limitations. And the Govt still has the power to shape and determine public opinion. The minority would have their say but the majority would have their way.
Limitations about what you can and cannot protest about? I get where you are coming from but this is not what the concept implies. This is the minority being denied their right to have a say.

Have you ever heard Iran condemning another country for cracking down on protesters? Of course you have not.

Americans are the ones that are always condemning others and bragging about how their people are allowed to protest, but see how they are expelling, threatening, and sending National Guard to people that are 200 times more peaceful than Black Lives Matter protesters.

Russia is one of the most often losing country ever... 1856 Crimean war - lost, 1905 russo-japanese war - lost and revolution, 1917 WW1 - lost and revolution, 1920 war with Poland - lost, 1940 russo-finnish war - if you call it win... whole world is laughing till today, 1989 - afghan war lost, 1991 - cold war lost and revolution and total collapse of USSR. The only war they won in last 200 years was WW2 and only because they have changed sides because they were ally of nazi Germany till 1941 and together started WW2 with attack on Poland. They won in WW2 only because they were used by Allies as a meat grinder and got incredible amount of support from lend-lease (British lost 360000 man, USA 400000 man and USSR with its primitive tactics over 23 millions). They are one of the most pathetic countries ever. And now they have lost half of their army without even touching NATO territory, and most probably in next two years they will lost another half...

This method of guilt tripping people has long expired, atleast come up with a better logic and stop displaying your high level of illiteracy here.

So a state should allow students openly chanting "death to America" , openly supporting and carrying flags of organization recognized as extreme terrorist group?

Demented fool.
The problem with "people" like you is that you don't read history, and you are seriously lacking in the intellectual department. Psycho ops have been used for centuries to sabotage demonstrations and to establish a narrative. Anybody with a shred of intelligence could predict that such things would happen in demonstrations that are highly unpopular with the American elite, and I will give you an example to digest, if your low-spec brain has enough ram and processing capacity for it.

I know dishonesty is part of your DNA, but can you honestly tell me that she wasn't trying to get a negative reaction? If even one person out of the hundreds of people there had challenged her, the news would have been all over the world but thankfully, she got a very Special Ignore Operation that would make WriterNG look like a learner.

Now if Jews were truly unsafe, do you think she would have gone there? Can you imagine White Supremacist going to dare BLM protesters, or a non-muslim going to mock muslims as they protest against blasphemy towards their prophet? Of course, you know what the result would be. Even if 99% of a the people are reasonable, there's a good chance that 1% of them are not, and that doesn't make the 99% bad people.

What I like about the protests is that there's always Jews among them, making the smear campaign difficult and even if there weren't, a few sponsored bad eggs is not enough to justify raiding and banning the protests unless you think all the protests in history, including the protests that ended Apartheid in South Africa and SARS in Nigeria were all bad.

And the example I gave you is only one. There have been several recorded attempts to provoke a violent reaction, all of which have failed.

Nuclear powered subs are noisy. They are big and there is a limit to where the can operate. They typically operate in deeper waters and cannot be close to shores.

Their alternative are diesel-electric submarines. They are smaller, quieter, and can operate close to shores.

Diesel-electric subs use electric underwater but need to come to the surface to use the diesel engine to recharge their batteries. They'll also need fresh air.

This makes them easy targets for enemy aircraft. In fact, this was how the Allies destroyed most German submarines during WWII. They wait for them to surface and take them out.

So, in all, nuclear and diesel electric subs complement themselves.
Thank you for the enlightenment
