I may be having a different opinion here. I attended a govt secondary school in d late 90s and that kind of caning is a welcome development from our parents. They will even threaten to report me to that same teacher if i misbehave. Thank God am better for it now. I think the problem is the LOST VALUE FOR DISCIPLINE. Parents now see it as a taboo for teachers to touch their children.
I bet u many of us here have one or two "wicked' teachers in our school days that we are silently grateful to. I know what am saying. The logic here is

For those that are from the North (or closer to the North). U will affirm that Buhari is like a demigod. People upNorth just love the man. If u think APC rigged the North, just check his perfirmances since 2003 and u will understand why Atiku can never defeat Buhari

many people have come here to drop their own understanding of this election but lets discuss the truth, buhari is untouchable in the north, atiku isnt liked in the north, that was why he was resting on red cap movement to come thru for him

south east, there might have been voters suppression but igbos didnt come out to vote, you have to vote to win elections, 2011 when pdp rigged the entire country, they couldnt get kano and kastina, why? because if people come out to vote, your rigging abilities is limited

south south, atiku is not jonathan, so many voters didnt show up and pdp have been creating numbers from that region for years, that has been exposed in this election


south west, pastors caused those votes for PDP, winners pastors were calling members telling them not to vote for apc, they are here, they know that i'm not lying, all in all, atiku was the wrong person, pdp have rigged this country blind, there are no records of 2007 election, go and find it, you wouldnt see anything, only the final table, PDP have been inflating numbers for years, they have been exposed this year, PDP should stop wailing, they are the real enemies of nigeria and this election has exposed it

OBJ desecrated Atiku for many years. Atiku was his VP, he knows him in and out. He had already demarketed Atiku, then the USA corruption allegations on his neck. It was President George Bush that ban Atiku from coming to the USA in 2007. President Obama for 8 years didn't lift the travel ban, meaning Atiku was finished.

Who are Atiku's supporters from the beginning? After OBJ denied him the ticket in 2007 by handing it over to Late Umaru Musa Yar'adua, Atiku decamped to AC(Action Congress) under Tinubu, where he contested the election and lost. Few years after, he decamped back to PDP claiming AC was not a good party. He then contested primary against Jonathan in PDP, 2010. OBJ was instrumental again, Atku lost to Jonathan. Few years after, he left PDP again to return to ACN which had merged with other parties to become APC. In 2014 he lost the ticket to Buhari. Few years later, same Atiku decamped back to the PDP for the third time. Either by hook or crook, he got the ticket and now he's about to lose and people are crying foul. Foul from where?

Can you tell me if there's any unstable and desperate politician in the history of Nigeria that can be compared with Atiku? Hell No. By moving from one party to another, he has no single supporter. Forget Saraki, Ben Bruce, Kwankwaso, etc they're only supporting Atiku because they're not happy with Buhari. If not so, why didn't they support him in 2011 or 2014 to pick the ticket in PDP and APC respectively? Cos he has no political stamina. He's never loyal to anyone apart from himself. He's so greedy and selfish, a looter and an exploiter. Nigeria doesn't deserve someone like that and God will never allow him get there.

Buhari was never an option, in fact Buhari is a bigot, nepotistic and a fundamentalist, coupled with old age syndrome affecting him. However, it would be a disaster to handover Nigeria to Atiku. It's better you live Nigeria with a Buhari than with an Atiku Abdul the likes of Saraki. He also committed political suicide by Picking Peter Obi. That's lack of ideology and vision.

PDP lost in the North and SW in 2015 and won in SS and SE, meaning the SS and SE are for PDP. He should have picked a running mate from the region PDP isn't doing well. He went and sentimentality made him pick Obi, who was not him liked by Igbo governors. Now Buhari did well in SS and SE more than ever before. Blame Atiku's lack of vision and lack of a strategist like Tinubu. It's Tinubu that hand picked Osinbajo in 2014 and it paid cos he wanted the Christian block votes, which Buhari got in the SW. When you need a block vote, appeal more to the region. See how Buhari aligned with Akpabio, Okocha, Oshiomhole, Orji Uzo Kanu, Sylva, Emmanuel oduaghan etc all to get votes, which has paid him. See weak Atiku picking Obi from a region PDP would always win any day any time.

It's over for Atiku cos first OBJ finished him, he finished himself and the heavens Approved it.

With these, a right thinking political analyst should understand that the idea and plan to bring in Atiku +Obi was DOA (dead on arrival). Thanks for this highly instructive piece.
