Sports / Re: What Football Match Gave You The Highest Tension? by formular2002(m): 5:26pm On Feb 11
AFCON 1994
SEMI FINAL
NIGERIA VS IVORY COAST
REALLY TENSED. I even cried on the day as Ivory Coast scored first, we equalized, they led again, we equalized and the game went to penalties.
I still remember the Ivorians.
Joel Tiehi
Michael Bassole
Abdulaye Traore
Alain Guomene and host of others.
Thank God, we won in the end and went on to beat Zambia in the final.

Do you not think that this registration should have been a continuous exercise Why put a closing date? Secondly why just one computer in a center. Just asking.

It's a continuous exercise. It started fully since 2012. It's the different agencies depending on the NIMC database that is placing their own deadlines. I know NIMC is not going anywhere. Registration will continue. It's like birth and death registration

The question is taking the bribe is it legal, i can decide to do it anytime i feel like. The cursed money will eventually take der life
Giving and taking bribe is illegal anywhere in the world and I will never support it.
I am only saying we should do what we need to do on time before it becomes a mad rush.
As it stands, you may not have other options than to bribe them but mind you, the giver and receiver are both culpable.

In this same Nigeria, in Lagos and Abuja, I have seen NIMC staff dancing round in vehicles to appeal to Nigerians to come out and enrol.
Infact I know of a time they were giving staff targets and they were practically begging family members to come out.
My question is, where were all of us at the time?

Same here with Akure center in Ondo State.
I wonder why government officials keep extorting Nigerians, even school leavers, old aged persons.
Why are Nigerians just like this.
Workers of Akure NIMC CENTER ARE VERY WICKED.

WE GO DRAG ONA....
INFACT THE DRAGING DON START.

Pls gather evidence o. That will come in handy.

I really feel sorry for your experience.
But I do have a question to ask. NIMC had been in operation since 2012. Many of us did not visit them to enrol. Infact, there were times they had to start going from shops to shops and markets to canvass.
I also believe for the 4/5 years you stayed on campus, you could have got it done. We don't need to wait till we need vital documents before running to do them. We all caused this mayhem.
Now, if you have the funds, go and do International passport and don't wait till you are having travelling opportunities and you will be rushing. Same as regularizing birth certificates, applying for driving license even before you buy a car and many other stuffs.
Those guys you mentioned are just taking advantage of our passiveness to their own advantage.
I got my NIN in 2012 and the centers were practically empty at the time

psalmsjob:

You guys focus on the money earned but not on what the money earned can purchase....the purchasing power of the money. See another analysis for you to stop Lmao grin

If our bobo londoner works for the standard 8 hours per day and earning £10 per hour and he works for 5 days a week; he would have earned = £10 x 8 hours = £80/ day x 5 days/week = £400/week x 4 weeks = £1,600 per month. With this earning bobo londoner is taking nothing home at month end and cannot afford to buy that kind of £10 food every day if he does he might be in debt see why:

Now for bobo pays average of £1,480 for house rent monthly and pays average of £140 for transportation to work. That's £1,480 + £140 = £1,600 per month ONLYgrin. If bobo londoner tries to buy his £10 food everyday as man must wak that's £10 x 30 days = £300 per month.

Therefore, bobo londoner must werk grin on Saturdays to survive that's £80 x 6 days × 4 weeks = £1,920 - £1,480 - £140 - £300 = £0.00 per month grin

So Bobo Londoner must werk grin on Sundays to have £80 at every month end grin

Workers in Nigeria do not work on Saturdays and Sundays before you start your comparison again grin

This is Google answer.
Not reality.
Most person don't pay up to 1k for rent. Not everyone is living in London.
Someone earning 1600 will obviously live in houses of about 700 or less.

If you can afford a flight ticket, you shouldn't have anything to do with that rubbish bag
Wrong, it's because it can help to carry more luggage.
Imagine those travelling boxes already weighing 8kg to 10kg when your allowance is 23kg x 2.
But Ghana must go is as light as 1kg. Even less sometimes.
This is a business opportunity for box makers to reinvent their products strategy and develop light weight products

You guys are so wonderful. I love the matured manner you handled the matter. A 20min nap will refresh the driver and you are all good to go. Kudos

I understand that feeling and it's normal. You get energized when going through the process but immediately you get visa, the feeling of doubt and loss starts creeping in.
Yes, it happens to people.
All you need to overcome it is to convince yourself of the reasons you started the process and look at the bright side. Starting all over may be challenging but you already have a soft landing since your wife is there.
So get ready to travel, buy foodstuffs, buy your ticket and have a safe flight.
Sure you will miss Nigeria but you can always visit.
As for jobs, you will be alright. Start training for special skills and God will go with you
All the best bro
Education / Re: How Private School Owners In Nigeria Deprive Their Teachers Of Rest by formular2002(m): 5:57pm On Aug 29, 2023
I left 15k primary school teaching job in 2011 and joined a factory to earn about 50k plus shifts and other little benefits.
Now, I love teaching but it was not rewarding.
My goal now is to own a school where teachers would be valued with great retirement plan.
I also want to retire in the classroom as a teacher because it's my calling. I know for sure. I just need to pay the bills for now and save to achieve the goal.
Teaching is fulfilling and rewarding but unfortunately, the system in Nigeria makes it hard.

Now, you don't need plenty generosity. A gift of £10 to someone in need is over 10k in Nigeria and will be much appreciated.
Except if there is a history of extortion

I am not stingy and will never be.
As right as this write up looks, it's just to support a wicked act of stinginess.
Now generosity is not stupidity but stinginess is a sin.
If you have, help. No matter how little. At all at all na im bad.
If you are stingy in Nigeria, you will be stingy anywhere in the world.
If you are generous (not stupid) in Nigeria , you will be generous anywhere in the world.
Generosity and stinginess is a personality trait.
No excuse for it

Religion / Re: What Do You Think Of Christians That Go To Work On Sunday? by formular2002(m): 1:55pm On Aug 13, 2023
It's an African mentality. Out there in developed world, you work hard any day any time and when it's time to take holiday, you enjoy it to the fullest.
So for me, Sunday is a day for the Lord if your job permits it.
If your job requires you to be present, please do well to go.
Worshipping God should be every day

Nice one. We're moving... BTW, I didn't give the falcons much of a chance against Canada, the reigning Olympic champion, early this morning. I was proud of their draw. Even more happy for Chiamaka Nnadozie's penalty save.

Up next is the Maltidas of Australia. A tough one though, but we'll try. If the falcons can come out of that group, it's already a successful world cup cool

I agree with you. Even the commentators kept calling it a group of death. Funny enough, if we were more clinical, we could have just won the game this morning. But kudos to the girls

Car Talk / Re: Do You Still Drive Your Car With AC? by formular2002(m): 4:33am On Jul 21, 2023
Please and please, to save fuel and prolong your engine life, wind up your glasses and use the AC. It has nothing to do with fuel consumption. Infact, not using it is the one that waste your fuel because the aerodynamic pressure will cause a drag and you will need to apply more throttle for your car to move which means more fuel pumped into the combustion chamber.
It's a misconception, cars are actually meant to be driven with the AC on (for hot weather) and heater on (for cold weather)
Family / Re: How Do I Handle My Hyper-active Daughter, She's Barely 3years by formular2002(m): 4:37pm On Jul 02, 2023
Nice problem op.
All you need to do is engage her in more productive play. Also find time to play with her. No matter how childish, just play with her. Get her toys, building blocks, kids tools, not ipad o. Buy her playdough and other things that may help develop her internal talents. Buy her piano, drum set for kids and so on.
I have a kid of almost same age 2+ and dats what am doing. Play too much o, sometimes, we don't sleep till 11pm or later sef, but I can see development.

Good luck brother

Guys, learn to drive manual cars o. E get why. If you hope to travel out some day, manual cars are more in developed European countries and they are cheaper. Automatic is also good but expensive. It may take time but when you master it, you will be glad you did.
It does not stop you from learning to drive Automatic.
