Politics / A Special Advice To Mr Peter Obi by fortsierafino(m): 10:27am On Jul 26, 2022
A special advise to Mr Peter Obi the Incoming President of Federal Republic of Nigeria!

His Excellency! Nigerians at this point of frustration and hardship occasioned by Nigerian Government both past and present which saw that Over 100m Nigerians are living in poverty, over 50m youths are unemployed, Pensioners are being owed, ASUU on strike and so on, are routing for your presidency in other to bring Nigeria to productivity.

His Excellency, i need to remind you that the support you are having today cuts across all party lines and not limited to Labour Party of which you know Labour party is just a vehicle to convey you to your destination.

My point being that you should concentrate only in campaigning for yourself to become the president because any moment you find yourself campaigning for other candidates who may have used because of your soaring popularity to go and obtain Labour Party positions in other to score cheap political profit will send a strong negative signal to your support base which cuts across all party lines.

His Excellency, May i remind you that a whole lots of people in PDP, APGA , ZLP, APC,YPP etc are clamouring for you and you should as well know that there are other good candidates in all those political parties who are equally vying for National Assembly positions. All these candidates are equally campaigning for you through their support bases. Any Moment you limits yourself into campaigning for Labour Candidates is the moment your support across party lines will diminish. In the best of interest, kindly campaign for yourself and self alone and let other good candidates in other political parties equally talk to the electorates giving them reasons why they should be voted and if such persons warrants public trust, he or she will enjoy the massive support which you are having today due to your past records.

We Vote Personalities and Not Political Party. No one knows Labour party but you, likewise we will vote any good candidates that is in XYZ party. In personality we stand and not political party.

Politics / Hon Valentine Ayika Esq. Joins Zenith Labour Party by fortsierafino(m): 1:15pm On Jul 11, 2022
Hon Barr Valentine Ayika a former Member Anambra State House of Assembly. A former House of Rep Member (Lasted for 5 months before Nigeria happened to him) joins Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) to Contest for Dunukofia/Njikoka/Anaocha Federal Constituency. Below are his reasons for Joining ZLP.

*EZIGBOMMADU FOR HOUSE OF REPS 2023 UNDER ZENITH LABOUR PARTY, ZLP*

I AM IN THE 2023 RACE FOR HOUSE OF REPS
This is to officially inform you, my online friends, that I am contesting for Federal House of Representatives in the 2023 general elections under the Zenith Labour Party, ZLP. This decision was taken after a long personal soul searching and due consultation with members of my relevant political families.

*WHY I AM CONTESTING*
The driving force behind the decision to contest the 2023 election, inter alia, is to contribute my quota, legislatively and otherwise, to the redirection of the trajectory that Nigeria is in today. No nation can make meaningful socioeconomic progress without a vibrant and effective Legislature. And a vibrant and effective Legislature requires persons with strong character and courage like me. Most of our laws need complete overhaul and I am cut out, prepared and ready for the herculean task. The confusion that trailed the primary election of the political parties, preparatory for the forthcoming general election, premised on the perceived ambiguities in the 2022 Electoral Act is a pointer to the fact that legal luminaries with passion for hardworking, details and diligence are desperately needed in our National Legislature. Our laws particularly the Constitution and the Electoral Act are still replete with deficiencies, contradictions and ambiguities. For instance section 29 of the Electoral Act 2022 (as amended) is inelegantly couched and subsection 4 of it is in contravention of one of the cardinal principles of good legislative drafting to wit: a law must have a purpose/utilitarian value. The said subsection is more of an assertion and don't seem to be for any particular purpose. My involvement would have saved the NASS such a serious omission.

*THE LOPSIDED NATURE OF OUR CONSTITUTION*
The Nigerian National Legislature as it is Constitutionally structured demands that every Constituency in the country should send one of its best for effective and efficient representation. It is on record that I did my possible best when I had the opportunity. So as the saying goes, one good turn deserves another. Details of my past performance, vision and mission, this time around, for my Federal Constituency will be unveiled at the appropriate time.

*THE NEED FOR SYNERGY*
As Nigerians anxiously hope and pray for HE, Mr. Peter Obi and Datti Baba Ahmed to take over the helm of affairs in the country in 2023, there is inevitable and overwhelming need for a National Assembly that is constituted of men and women that are not only patriotic, fit and proper but who are ably equipped with the necessary experience and capacity to synergize with them for our dream of a new Nigeria to come true. I am overly equipped, patriotic to the core, a team person, have garnered the needed experience overtime and most importantly a legal luminary with appetite for excellence.

*TESTED, TRUSTED, A PRODUCT OF PETER OBI'S POLITICAL SCHOOL*
Having been tested and proven to be trusted in the Legislative arm of government, both at the State National levels, I hold the strong view that I belong to this group of persons that are highly needed in the National Legislature at this juncture of our history. I worked excellently well with HE. Mr. PO as a State Legislator then and have always maintained a leader- follower relationship with him. In fact I am a product of his political school and still belong to his political family. So if by the grace of God we both find ourselves on the two different arms of the government again it will be a reactivation and a continuation of an amazing latent working relationship established some years back. PO needs a street general like me as his Legislative bulwark in the National Legislature, just in case ..

*MULTIPLICITY OF OPTIONS FOR THE ELECTORATES*
My involvement in the 2023 elections will widen the horizon of options for the electorates in line with the saying, the more the merrier. The number will make the contest keen enough for each of the concerned candidates to deploy his or her best techniques and political intrigues. We will keep one another on his or her toes all through the race. We will push ourselves to the limit such that the eventual winner will not take the people’s mandate for granted.

*PETER OBI’S PEDIGREE*
As a member of PO's political family I can say without any fear of contradiction that, Mr. Peter Obi is one of the best prudential managers of human and material resources. I also believe that there is no gainsaying the fact that Mr. Obi represents the true fiscal discipline and economic know-how that Nigeria badly needs now. But the big question is, what role will I play not only to get him elected but also to help push his agenda at National Assembly. The simple answer is for me to be on the ballot and ultimately in the green chamber. With my power of persuasion, oratory and pragmatism I will build a solid bridge between the Legislature and the Executive. Before taking the decision to contest the forthcoming election I weighed my options and considered a number of issues.

*FACTORS CONSIDERED*
Paramount in the factors considered are the near and far implications of the decision to contest on a different platform from that of HE, Mr Peter Obi’s platform. Rhetorically, being on the ballot in a different political party, will negatively affect PO in any way, is it tantamount to working at cross purposes with PO, my answer, without hesitation, is no. Rather my being on the ballot will amount to a synergy of some sort in the PO’s quest for Presidency. Consequent upon my detailed analysis of all the pros and cons, I became convinced beyond argument and without any fear of contradiction that being on the ballot in the forthcoming general election is the best way I can, to the fullest, contribute my financial and political quota to Peter Obi and Datti Baba Ahmed’s anxiously awaited victory at the polls. Understandably, it is a different kettle of fish activating and mobilising my political structure in the election for our dear PO from the periphery compared to doing so from the point of a candidate in the election. While the former will be a far cry from the best I can do for him the latter will entail my optimal contribution. The energy, the zeal and the commitment will be in the extreme. All the political meetings I have had so far were mainly because I wanted to contest the election, yet 60 % of the time were spent campaigning for PO. Without this personal interest first of all, I may have convened the meetings but definitely not as frequently as now that I am on the ballot. It is only players that score goals, spectators do not.

*POSSIBLITY OF CONFUSION AMONG VOTERS*
There is fear, particularly among us the *OBIDIENTS*, that the voters especially the elderly and the illiterates will find it difficult to separate the Presidential, Senatorial and Reps ballot papers when they vote. The solution, to some, is for a bandwagon voting for Labour Party on the day of Presidential and NASS election. If the only problem is the anticipated fear of confusion then there is no problem. There will be sufficient sensitization and extensive voter education. With the tsunamic nature of Obidient movement there is already a will to succeed so definitely there will be a way. I will lead a crusade for the needful to be done before and on the day of election.

*THE WAY FORWARD*
The first point of note is that the Nigerian electoral laws- particularly the 1999 Constitution and the Electoral Act 2022 (as amended) didn’t prohibit a voter from seeking for clarification on any issue at the polling booth. The said laws and international political best practices encourages such clarifications. There is nothing illegal, in fact, it is already a notorious practice in Nigeria in the exercise of one’s franchise to ask for assistance from any person of one’s choice. With the level of interest, passion and youth awareness surrounding the 2023 general election that fear of confusion should be discarded. Don’t be surprised or should I say expect a paradigm shift in the 2023 elections. The colour codes or whatever distinguishing features between the three ballot papers will be clearly, publicly and periodically announced at the polling booths to avoid any had I known. The agents of the different political parties or candidates will be alive to their responsibilities there and then. It is possible that somebody may even approach the court to order INEC to organise the 25th February 2023 election in a way that will be devoid of bandwagon voting pattern. I will lead a crusade against bandwagon voting pattern, it is anti-democracy and a violation of our Constitutionally guaranteed exercise of free will.

*REASONS FOR MY CHOICE OF POLITICAL PARTY*
It is important to state that PO's political activities in the recent time to a great extent prompted my latest political move. Sometimes we test the waters of our popularity and acceptability. It is becoming clearer by the day that Nigerians are ready to vote for persons against political parties. All sound reasoning Nigerians are aware that our country is at a very dangerous crossroads and are determined more than ever before to elect persons that will bring to reality our hope, dream and desire for a new Nigeria. I am convinced that I have a very important role to play in our vision for a new working Nigeria. I decided to contest under ZLP because, among others, the motto of the party appeals to me, the logo of the party being the last on the ballot will be easy to locate by all the voters and most importantly I will have all the liberty that I need to campaign for our own dear PO.

Lastly, I appeal for your support and assure you all that your support will not be taken for granted and you will never regret supporting and voting for me.

HON. BARR. VALENTINE AYIKA

PeaceJoyLove:

Thank you for your comment sir.

Honestly speaking, I do not wish or want to be brutal with my comments. In fact, I have received letters that my comments were annoying at first, but when they continued reading more and more they realized my points.

Let me tell you a truth. A man driven by his peni.s and wallowing in poverty listens to only one method: knock his head around. Yes. Treat him like a sh.it to reformat his head. If not, he will keep relying on you for survival. Give 100 people like that such treatment, and I assure you that at least 20 will straighten up and even give you a nice challenge. Humans arent made to rely on one another in term of proving basic needs of life. Shelter is a basic need which we shouldn't depend on government.

There is nothing bad in giving out incentives to people to live in rural areas. Sir, let me tell you the truth. Farming is one of the major occupations in most rural settlements even in those places you mentioned. Do you know the amount govt has released to young people and even retirees to move to rural areas and farm? Is that not incentive? What did they do with the money? They spent it in the city, or even traveled abroad with it. If just 10% of those who had such opportunity had used just 2% to develop the rural settings, things would have been better..see eh... Poor people cannot be helped in the way you want. They will waste everything and still blame you that you are helping them. What they need is a strong iron hand to reformat their brains. That's it.

Kick them out of the shanties. By the time they sleep on bare floor and beaten by people, they will return to their villages and start meaningful ventures there. Imagine Wike gave them housing, hahahhaha....the whole of Nigeria would migrate there. Those ones helped are the ones who would phone others to come. Could Wike sustain such? Or do you want to say it wouldn't happen?

See, if I was Wike, I would move police there with canes. They would whip them out of the place mercilessly. I would leave the place and allowed them start building again, moved in boys with canes again to beat them mercilessly. They would catch them and applied frog jump treatment on them for hours till they couldn't stand again. Guy leave the spot, give it 5 days, some goats would return...and I too would keep tormenting them. Lol. I may even deliberately not build anytning there just to catch scape goats. And I would do it continuously. That would ring bell into their ears. See eh...they will all run away from my state. Let them return to their states..

That of Lagos...those who are even insulting the government are the majority there. Yet, they cannot reevaluate their lives.

If you tell them to have only one child per family, you don cause wahala..is it the ibos who by all means must have a male child that will accept? They are the ones moving out more from their states and constituting nuisance in other places. Though, few of them are outstanding and are developing other places. But why abandon your own place and go elsewhere to build shanties? Yes, other tribes are there too...but is it a curse ibo cannot live in their region? If they all relocate to their region....hmmmm...I want to see how they will cope. Their population is too much. Yet they have lited land na. And they want to leave Nigeria oooo.....hmmm. I want to see how they can survive if everyone chase them back to their land after they have Biafra nation with their huge population. Honestly, they arent thinking well. Go and see how they keep giving births too. I know the north are so uncontrollable with child births, but they have enough land there. The ibos idea is beyond me.

Let us say the truth here. Not until people are chased away from Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt that they will build other places. The north is a place we know how it is. Let us just leave the place with its wahala. But in the south, ibos are the nuisance in this area.. yes. They are vagabonds and they should hear the truth. They need to use their brains and return to their states to build them. Ha ba! If just 10% of ibo in Lagos leaves, hmmmmm, there will be peace. You can imagine the peace which will come upon Lagos if there is Biafra nation and all ibos are asked to leave. Hmmmm....total peace. The whole of Alaba will see peace. Even the roads will experience peace. We must say the truth here.

Let ibos with brain talk to their people. Those without good housing should leave. They should stop moving their brothers and sisters to one room in Lagos and Port Harcourt. For waht na. They rent one room and 15 people live in it. Why?

People should return to their villages and farm. Period!

Dear Honourable Chief Dozie Nwankwo!

I was expecting that after my last expose on the negligence of your office to the plight of the people you are representing, i was expecting that proactive measures would have been put in place to ensure betterments of the lives of the constituents you are representing during this Pandemic Covid-19 Virus affecting the world but yet could not hear any thing either from you or your aids.

Right now as we have passed the stage of Sanitizers and face masks due to cases registered in our neighbouring state Enugu state which no sooner than later we may experience a case in Anambra, but God forbids it should be so. The Anambra State Government have announced closures of markets by Monday and as at today the prizes of foods have skyrocketed by 500%. What the people needs now is Food.

Hon Dozie Nwankwo! This is the time people needs those rice you always share during election.

This is the time people needs those money you use to buy wrapper, vehicles and grinder to buy foods to stay safe.

This is the time for people to get foods and cash instead of those medical guys you pay for eye surgery during campaigns.

This is the time those monies shared at pooling units to be used to get foods for the less privileged.

This is a time the people wishes to stay alive in this faces of tribulations and its good you act now because a stitch in time saves nine.

Act Now..

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, on Friday accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, of resorting to panicky measures in their bid to win the governorship election on July 14.

Oshiomhole, who spoke during his maiden news briefing at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja, also claimed Fayose has ordered civil servants, teachers and other categories of workers in the state to surrender their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs).

He also alleged that the Governor has directed lecturers in institutions of higher learning in the state, to award free 20 marks to students who vote for his candidate.

He also alleged that the Governor has directed lecturers in institutions of higher learning in the state, to award free 20 marks to students who vote for his candidate.

Oshiomhole said: “I believe that the people of Ekiti State are very much aware of what the issues are. There is no better evidence of how prepared we are than the fact that the PDP is panicking.

“You must have read reports that in clear violation of the electoral act, the Governor Fayose has instructed the civil servants, principals of schools and headmasters to retrieve PVCs from civil servants because he is afraid that the civil servants and the people of Ekiti State will not vote for him and in demonstration of that, they are helping to educate the people on why they should not vote for his candidate.

“He has not paid salaries for one year despite the fact that the federal government gave him bailout which he chose to divert to other uses. So, they are panicking and while we are encouraging people to collect PVC, he is retrieving PVCs.

“We heard that they have started issuing query to workers, including teachers for refusing to surrender their PVCs. I don’t think you need any other evidence that the governor is panicking and we can’t wait to have him swept away in a free and fair election on the basis of one man, one vote, one woman, one vote.

“We all know that Fayose was rigged into office and this is no secret because the military officers involved has since confessed to the role they played as well as those involved in the dollars that were withdrawn from the NNPC. These are no secrets anymore.

“I think that Fayose thinks that the very instrument he used to come to power will be used against him. This is a party of change and so, we are not about to copy the darkest side of the PDP.”

The man was shot as a result of drug related activities. He refused to stop when policemen stopped him, they gave him a hot chase. Getting to Tarzan Junction from Bridge Head, there was traffic congestion and he couldn't drive anymore, he opened his car to run away that was when he was shot by the police constable thinking he was an armed robber or probably a kidnapper. On searching the boot of his car, they found backs of Indian hemp starched there...

When this thin happened, the APC flag off was still on at the field.

Disregard any false news circulating to tarnish the image of the APC gubernatorial candidate.

Some can climb trees while some don't but the most significant thing about this animal is that whenever you sees it at night, you will only be seeing the two eyes which is like a wild fire. bigfrancis21:

Igbo bashing has become quite a common thing in Nigeria such that it has become normal to bash Igbo on every single thing, even on things that are meaningless.

You created this thread to ask why Igbo prefer to marry from their tribe. Are you really serious? This is a question you opened this thread for looking for 'answers'? Would you have opened this very thread in the first place had a Yoruba or Hausa guy been the one who preferred to marry from their tribe? Yes or No? Why would a Yoruba parent reject a non-yoruba suitor, and that will not be an issue. In fact, such action is justified. A Hausa parent will do the same and no dust will be raised about it. But when an Igbo parent does the same, then its a big deal. It is a serious issue that calls for serious attention and criticism, then you begin to get tags like ''Igbos are 'tribalistic'', 'they are 'selfish'', it is an 'Igbo problem' e.t.c. Minor issues that aren't issues when done by other tribes become a serious issue when Igbo is involved.

I look around me, majority Ibibios marry within the Ibibio tribe, majority Hausas marry within Hausa, Yoruba within Yoruba, why should the Igbo marrying within themselves even be a question in the first place? Despite the level of inter marriage between whites and blacks here in the US, majority whites marry within whites, chinese within chinese, blacks within blacks, and you're going to sit there and tell me that it is a problem when Igbos prefer to marry Igbos?? Like seriously??

I get your point about love being the most important factor between 2 people from different tribes and there are marriages between Igbo men and non-Igbo women however majority Igbos don't need to look outside for love when they can find it within themselves. The same love you mentioned as important, Igbo men get it from within the tribe. Why look outside? What about culture preservation and values? Why should Igbo preferring to marry from within even be an issue in the first place when other tribes are doing the same? Is the creation of this thread even justified in the first place?

Tomorrow you're going to open another thread asking 'Why do Igbo people speak Igbo?' Like seriously??
Brother! You've said it all. Go and marry your own tribe and leave Igbo's with theirs. Nonsense cathedrals

And to cap it all, Obasanjo is the navigator of the APC, a man who spent 8 of the disastrous 16 years as the maximum ruler of Nigeria. It is now clearer that APC is a waste basket of the PDP, where the people who created and perpetuated the 16 disastrous years are now dumped. So where is the change coming from? Rotimi Amaechi – 8 years speaker; 7 year, Governor under PDP. 2. Atiku Abubakar – 8 years Vice president under PDP. 3. George Akume – 8 years Governor under PDP. 4. Bukola Saraki – 8 years Governor; 2 years, Senator under PDP. 5. Timipre Sylver – 4 years Governor under PDP. 6. Audu Ogbe – 2 years Chairmanship of the PDP. 7. Aminu Masari – 4 years as the Speaker, House of Representativesunder PDP. 8. Chris Ngige – 3 years Governor under PDP. 9. Rabiu Kwankwaso – 7 years Governor; 3 years Defense minister under PDP. 10. El Rufai – 4 years FCT Minister; 2 years BPE chairman under PDP. 11. Are they now saints because they joined APC? Pls be WISE & VOTE not for those seeking power by FORCE ASSOCIATION OF PAST CRIMINALS (APC )
