fkelly:You're lucky to see 5k. In my area, the ATM can't despense 1k talkless 5k. We now prefer to withdraw and deposit with the POS dealers. You will go and queue to withdraw 5k and getting to your turn, no money again . Whereas, POS na sharp sharp. I even learned that if you deposit from 500k as individual from 1st may, bank will charge 20% from the money. Wahala deyooo. |
Politics / Re: Nigerian Workers Release Breakdown Of Proposed ₦615,000 Minimum Wage by fortunejum: 10:01am |
Labour came up with Thier figure and they went ahead to give us the breakdown for the family of six. Why govt couldn't come up with Thier own figure uptill now for us to see if truly it looks like a living wage. I learned that the government were looking at 70k. Ok, let them give us the breakdown on how a family of six can live comfortably with 70k. Looking at the figure presented by labour, even if they say 100k, govt and people will still say is high, so for me ,the starting figure from labour for negotiation is not bad. Definitely it will come down to an agreed figure. |

They keep on sharing the subsidy money among the states and if you look at all the states in Nigeria, you cannot see a tangible thing or development done with the money for eight good months now. To pay workers 35k na problem. |

Abeg, they should do something about roofing sheets also. The prices per square metre is too much. People can't roof their houses anymore. |

She is a lazy type. You cannot satisfy their wants. I came across one of them in my school days, I dated her when we were in school and she keeps telling me that she cannot marry a man who does not have a car and wealthy. But uptil now she is not married as pretty as she was then. I met her two years back and almost wept. You mean over 20 years now since we graduated, you haven't married? 2 Likes |

FarahAideed:More money can not be inject into the country when some people are still hoarding half of the old note with them. The amount of old notes CBN is expected to come back is less than what came in. So the deadline is necessary to allow people hoarding the old notes brings it out before circulating the new ones. |
Politics / Re: “Supreme Court Order” Versus “Presidential Address”: Which One Supersedes? by fortunejum: 12:19pm On Feb 17, 2023 |
*The Supreme Court And Their Interim Order Against The CBN - The Facts and Falsehoods.* I’ve seen lots of misleading information being peddled by some print media. They’re claiming that the earlier Interim Order by Supreme Court still subsists and operates as injunction against the CBN. By their own logic, the old Naira note is still valid and legal tender, due the interim order of the Supreme Court. Well, I don’t know how best to explain the life span of Interim Orders to non-lawyers But let me try. An Interim Order is usually given to last for 7days. And renewable after expiration of 7days, upon application for renewal. Interim orders are quite different from the Interlocutory Injunctions. Interlocutory Orders are made to last throughout the duration of the case, no matter how long the case may last in court. The nature of the Supreme Court order against the federal government or CBN is; Interim Injunction. Duration is 7days. As at today, that order has expired. It expired by effluxion of time. The Supreme Court sat today The review all the facts before it, but REFUSED to renew their already expired Interim Order. The Plaintiffs, knew the interim order has expired They tried to get the Supreme Court to approve renewal for them But, the Supreme Court vehemently rejected their application for renewal, but rather adjourned the case for 22nd of February for further proceedings. The legal and natural implications of this scenario is that; there’s absolutely no further Order restraining the CBN from going ahead with its plans, decisions, and full implementation of its new rules and policies in accordance with its constitutional duties. Concomitantly, the deadline for the old Naira notes remains irreversible. What it means is that; there’s no legal impediments, no obstacles or restrictions against the CBN from enforcing its rules about the use of the new Naira. Barr. Azubuike Ihemeje |
