Tinubu may have a good motives but the people working under him might be the problem for his plans not working. Nigerians are terrible set of people especially our leaders. |

FarahAideed: Another low IQ clown with nothing to offer than miserable low level sentiments .if you don't have the range to understand what I have said then say so..
Buhari wakes up lies to low intelligent characters like you that some politicians have stashed money in houses to buy vote and this is his solution:
1.To shabily pull out 3 trillion naira if old notes out of the economy . 2. Fails to replace them with 3 trillion of the new notes but instead under prints only 300 billion naira of the new notes .
3 : triggers a needless cash scarcity which inturn triggers a cash stampede by helpless NIGERIANs looking for cash in an economy where 40 percent still remain unbanked .
4.. Lies to the stampeding Nigerian that he has released enough money to banks when he has not which in turn pitches the masses against innocent bankers and the masses start getting aggressive against banks and at same time start a bank run which starts to hurt the banking industry.
5.. does not give bank enough time to scale the capacity of the the National electronic transaction switches being run by NIBBs so suddenly overnight demand for E- transaction grow by over 100 folds and the NIBBs capacity can't handle it smoothly leaving the entire system overwhelmed
6. And he is doing all this just weeks to a major National election.
7 . On Monday Bank workers are starting to withdraw their services which will deal more blows to the already weakened economy failed church rats like you are already struggling to survive in but since your brain is small you believe it's okay to suffer as long as Tinubu suffers 😅.. but in reality both has really affected Tinubu More money can not be inject into the country when some people are still hoarding half of the old note with them. The amount of old notes CBN is expected to come back is less than what came in. So the deadline is necessary to allow people hoarding the old notes brings it out before circulating the new ones. |

*The Supreme Court And Their Interim Order Against The CBN - The Facts and Falsehoods.*
I’ve seen lots of misleading information being peddled by some print media.
They’re claiming that the earlier Interim Order by Supreme Court still subsists and operates as injunction against the CBN.
By their own logic, the old Naira note is still valid and legal tender, due the interim order of the Supreme Court.
Well, I don’t know how best to explain the life span of Interim Orders to non-lawyers
But let me try.
An Interim Order is usually given to last for 7days.
And renewable after expiration of 7days, upon application for renewal.
Interim orders are quite different from the Interlocutory Injunctions.
Interlocutory Orders are made to last throughout the duration of the case, no matter how long the case may last in court.
The nature of the Supreme Court order against the federal government or CBN is;
Interim Injunction.
Duration is 7days.
As at today, that order has expired.
It expired by effluxion of time.
The Supreme Court sat today
The review all the facts before it, but REFUSED to renew their already expired Interim Order.
The Plaintiffs, knew the interim order has expired
They tried to get the Supreme Court to approve renewal for them
But, the Supreme Court vehemently rejected their application for renewal, but rather adjourned the case for 22nd of February for further proceedings.
The legal and natural implications of this scenario is that;
there’s absolutely no further Order restraining the CBN from going ahead with its plans, decisions, and full implementation of its new rules and policies in accordance with its constitutional duties.
Concomitantly, the deadline for the old Naira notes remains irreversible.
What it means is that; there’s no legal impediments, no obstacles or restrictions against the CBN from enforcing its rules about the use of the new Naira.

MadeInTokyo: That 22 billion Tinubu money Which are in 1000 naira and 500 Naira denomination and stored in Kano state government facility meant for vote buying in the North West has become waste , useless and and now tissue papers, it will be hard converting them into 200 Naira notes with less than 9 day to election and CBN will not circulate up to 1 billion naira worth of 200 Naira notes back to the economy before election. People are looking for that old notes since there are both illegal and legal tender now |
Politics › Re: Buhari Says Old ₦200 Note Will Remain Legal Tender Till April 10 by fortunejum: 8:31am On Feb 16, 2023 |
I am so much in support of the policy but my fears is that the politicians will continue to used the old note in buying votes. The touts will be willing to collect the old note inorder to carry out their corruption practices during the elections in as much as the old notes being legal and illegal tender. |

Dogalmighty17: Yes. I watched it(somebody had to do it). In effect, old 500 naira and 1000 naira remain illegal tenders. Old 200 naira notes will be pushed back into circulation until April 10th.
I used to doubt that politics was behind this currency redesign. The president this morning, cleared that doubt. He actually is doing this to prevent politicians from buying votes. No politician has bundles of 200 naira notes stored up. They certainly didn't see this coming.
Sadly though, it appears he is not willing to respect any judgement of the supreme court concerning this matter. ....that is it. |
