PoliticsOpinion :Why Buhari May Not Succeed In His Anti-corruption War by fowowe411(op): 1:09pm On Jul 18, 2015
Nigeria as a country as dent image already both within and outside the Shores of Africa. The major criticism against the last administration was it's friendliness with corruption. The government of President Buhari has vowed to fight corruption in the country which I think it is a good thing but there still exist some obstacles in this fight that can hinder him from. Achieving his goal.

1. Tribalism/Nepotism : Nigeria as a country comprises of different cultures and tribes which thus makes it a complex society. In Nigeria I have come to realise that unnecessary patriotism to tribe is one of the major cause of the continue ravaging of this menace. For instance during the last administration when Stella Oduah was alleged to have bought a bulletproof car for some millions and Nigerians were almost demanding for her head the icon lead various protest against her prosecution tagging it as victimization of "ibos", I almost cried as I went for the country. Also if a Mallam is arrested or an "Alhaji" you will either hear "this is a conspiracy against the north" or "an attempt to downgrade Muslims"!

2.Corrupt party loyalists : Unless Buhari can really step on some big toes especially those who supported him to power, the corruption fight is a joke. Majority of this cabals will have been doing one or two things to get in the good book of the present government, unless Pmb can pull some stunts his corruption war will not be anything but a joke

3.Unnecessary Party Apologetics:Believe me these set of people are bent on making the anti - corruption war failed, majority of the supporters of the last administration will never see any reason for prosecution of anybody under the Last administration as they will tag it witch hunting even when they have indeed embezzled public funds.

4.Corrupt Judicial System : Our court system is corrupt to a fault and even the masses has lost hope in its. Majority of these politicians can easily buy their freedom which will make it a major obstacle to the war against corruption

5.Nigerians believe corruption is normal : Nigerians are the highest hypocritical set of people you will find on this planet earth. Majority of us mismanagement small funds in our offices, organizations, homes but we will still blab when we hear about corrupt politicians. I could remember a man who once served as Chairman of my local government and bought only one car throught out his tenure, you need to hear the way people were cursing him that he can never make it again in life!

Conclusively I can continue till tomorrow with various reasons making these anti corruption war damn hard. My advice to Nigerians is let come together regardless of our tribes, language, or religions. Fighting yourselves on here won't solve anything and these people (APC&PDP) don't give a damn about you, your family or generation, they are working for their pockets. Many nairalanders will be useful to themselves if they convert the number of hours they use in political arguments and abusive wars to meaningful things!

I know this won't still stop political war on my thread!

Flets:
When it was said that gas supply network under GEJ was work in progress, they said it was for campaigns

When the power plants were being commissioned by GEJ, They said he was playing to the gallery

Today, there is improvement in power supply and yet they say its a one month old government without power minister and without direction that is responsible.

Not forgetting the role of increased water levels in our dams.

But nothing to gloat over yet cos if Buhari does not set the direction for the power sector quickly, even the GEJ benefits in this same sector will be lost in no time.

Power sector investors are waiting for the government's plan.... but they can't wait forever.

Nigerians dont care about the process of getting results, they are only impatiently interested in the results and that is why they are most gullible
God bless you for acknowledging the fact that the foundation was laid by the last administration, but I hope you will say the same when you hear about bomb blasts that this menace too started under the last administration and you stop being hypocritical!

PoliticsRe: Thread On Suggestions For Stopping Insurgency In Nigeria. by fowowe411: 9:59am On Jul 17, 2015
Many Nigerians don't understand what we are fighting, we aren't just fighting some criminals or armed robbers but a set of brainwashed individuals who are ready to sacrifice their lives for their commonly known course. I laugh when people say if boko harm should come to lagos, onitsha they will be stopped, I don't think they know anything about suicide bombing!. For instance a boko harm member travelled to lagos and decide to blow up himself at Ojota Park, police will be detached to ojo immediately, another goes to Aba and blew himself - same routine, another goes to Benin - same routine..

The only thing we can do now is to pray to God to help and support the government in this fight against this dreaded beast!

PoliticsRe: Nigerians Be Wise! Support Buhari's Government To Return Our Stolen Money by fowowe411: 9:48am On Jul 17, 2015
I have said it over and over, tribalism will kill us in this country and it is one of the major obstacles in the fight against corruption. Politicians know that Nigerians are so gullible and unnecessarily emotional about things, hence they keep playing mind game with us. I could remember during Stella Oduah saga, even when it was proven that she did bought the alleged car people were still ranting. In fact it will be easier for a donkey to pass through a needle than for you to convince an Ibo man that Stella Oduah, Allison Maduekwe embezzled money, rather they will tell you it is because they are Ibos and people don't want them to grow. Also try and arrest an "Alhaji" he will either tell you it is a conspiracy against the north or Muslims LOL.

The country tire me sef..... Until Nigerians begin to look beyond ethnic bigotry ehn.... corrupt politicians will continue to linger and we will continue supporting them.

Can believe a grown ass man is asking such question. This simply implies;

* He's definitely not ready for marriage, and I pity the girl who'd commit to him.

* What was the source of the 600K? Is it sustainable? How long did it take him to make that amount?

* The third is just like the first, as a grown ass man, people with vision have married with a lot less.

I think the problem most times, is we have too many immature men jumping into marriage. Cos if you ask me, I didn't pick a wife for you, so I don't know why you'd ask if 600K is okay. Pls ask Cosmas Maduka undecided

But really, this guy will have a lot to celebrate within first 100days n might be d NXT Akpabio in terms of devptal strides. Another reason for me to think this Wike dude was truly d brain behind Amaechi first term success as CoS cos Amaechi really did well during his first4years.
Tell me just one thing thus your new hero as achieved that has warranted the accolades, that he dissolves local govt councils? Or that he sacked some lecturers and earners? Et al. Ain't saying you should not praise him cos I can see you are eager to do that but at least wait till he warrants it.

Was that a surprise?
Are you really ignorant of the obvious or you are just politicking? Amnesty agreement in which payments were being made to ex-militants were scheduled to end this year December not fixed by Buhari but by existing agreement between the FEDERAL ggovernment and them.

On Buhari 'so appointment of this young lad(if it is true), I see nothing wrong in it because a personal assistant is not a political or constitutional office as such I believe you should appoint someone close. I am totally against any form of tribal agenda but it doesn't make sense the way you guys just read unnecessary meanings to the few appointments this guy has made, the worst of it is some were made by government parastals and you guys just keep ranting unnecessarily!!!!!

PoliticsWhy The Fuss About National Assembly Leadership? by fowowe411(op): 12:40pm On May 24, 2015
Am I the only one who's not interested in who
becomes what in the National Assembly.
Truth is, my opinion, members of the National
Assembly have never served the interest of the
masses of this country.
They go there to serve their own interests, the
interests of their cronies and the bloody capitalists
in our midst who can lobby them to do one or two
things that will further fertilise their capitalistic
cravings all disguised as serving the interests of
the majority.
Only very few exceptions!
When Dimeji Bankole was speaker, what benefits
did he bring to Ogun State and the southwest at
large? What about Patricia Etteh?
Even President Obasanjo, what unique things did
he do in the SW? The terrible Ota road, what has
happened to it over the years?
I am not interested in where a leader comes from.
What matters to me is his capacity to deliver.
Pardon my digression. How has David Mark
presidency in the senate brought development to
Benue State except for his cronies he tried to 'fix'
up?
Nigerian legislators have not lived up to
expectations, I doubt if they will do in the in-
coming administration.
The state houses of assembly are worse. Those
ones are just errand boys for the sitting governors
regardless of which political party is in charge.
Pardon my blanket condemnation.
Legislative arm of government? I am still to find
what actually they are doing for the masses.
Tell me if you know.
