Intellectual Property Law and Evidence.

Please... Is it really compulsory to do Evidence if I wish to practice in Nigeria....because I seriously dont want to miss IP Law for anything. I was thinking since I did Criminal Law.. Thar should make-up for Evidence.

I need an urgent advice please.

If your plan is to practise in Nigeria then I advise you go for law of evidence. Intellectual property is a substantive law that you can easily read and understand your. The larger chunk of it is abstract at least in the Nigerian legal system, there has not been much navigation in the area. However Evidence law is a procedural law that you cannot afford to miss for anything except you aren't planning to go into full law practise. It is in evidence that you will learn procedures of tendering exhibits, proofs in court, admissibility and relevance of evidence, when to get a confessional statement and so all. Since you will still attend the Nigerian Law school, you can't afford not to offer evidence if you want to come out with something serious here.

I don't know why students can't make a point reasonably, the guy that died is someone I know very well, his gf use to stay beside us and they move together. School gates has been destroyed by students!

Around 11am students came out to protest against the school management concerning two of them that died.

Commercial vehicle crushed a student on the road some days ago.The students accused the people of Akungba-Akoko that they didn't help the victim till he died.

Yesterday a motor knocked down another student who later died in health center.
The student accused the doctors for not paying due attention to the victim.

The protest is a violent one,many things were destroyed in the school. The police used about 2 hours before they could stop them.
According to the report reaching us,some student are still there now 7:05pm.

Please let's be mindful of the information we release online, only one student died in this whole saga which is quite unfortunate.

This event made me realise Nigerians are training beasts in human form. One very lesson I learnt today is the wickedness we have being trained to have in this country. Imagine a protest about a boy that died and some criminals went on attacking eataries, filling stations carting away money and goods. Is that part of the solidarity protest?

Many people saw it as fun and majority of the overzealous protesters are from 100l who were so happy to witness it. May the deceased continue to rest in peace in the bossom of the Lord!
