9jatriot:
What is this man saying? If you do not want to fix the road, just say it after all the roads in question are federal roads but if you want to fix it then just fix it.

Rivers State under Wike received refunds of the money spent on federal roads there, both those done by Amaechi and the ones done by him.

You seem not to be conversant with recent happenings. After Wike’s saga, FG barred states from fixing/repairing their roads. You should do your research
Politics / Re: Obaseki Charges Edo People, Commuters To Plead With Tinubu To Allow Him Fix Fede by Franklinadaz: 10:43pm On Aug 29, 2023
A State which has a well planned blue print for development, will expend its funds on their own programmes to see them through.
Even in utilising state funds, they will keep a sizeable amount on hold, as contingency amount for unforeseen circumstances.

Those judging Governor Godwin Obaseki seem to think he is not performing other state development projects, so the roads are the only things on his plate.

Why does the Federal goverment not think, we will spend the money on State roads, and wait for states to refund the expenses.

Or the states should play philanthropist to the empty Federal reserves.

This has been long overdue, the good people of Edo and other commuters of these road are suffering from FG’s negligence and stubbornness to leave the road in such deplorable state despite several pleas from the state Govt. The should please do the needful

Mr. Oshiomhole or OshioSCAM as you are usually called, I can recall that you told us that you were bringing ShopRite to our dear state. You even did billboards, congratulating Edolites that finally ShopRite has arrived in Benin? It was just another failure on your path, abi Edo people una don forget abi?

Edo people be wise, don't be deceived by this man, Edo people are not fools
Politics / Re: Your Victory Is A Call To Leadership - Omo-ikirodah Congratulates Oshiomhole by Franklinadaz: 5:10am On Mar 17, 2023
Oshomole do you expect people to waste their vote just for you to instigate your people to impeach the Governor? Does that make sense to the development of Edo state? This shows you and your apc members are not interested in the progress and development of Edo state.

Because you have a big mouth to lie as you use to do. Now you think you can deceive us about how you demolish innocent people's houses without compensation, you threaten to demolish Bob Izue's house by blackmailing him to decamp to your party which he did and you forgave him, you also demolish Oshodin's formal Unibem VC house, and make him homeless without compensation, the same you shared government properties within GRA to your self and loyalist.
Politics / Re: Your Victory Is A Call To Leadership - Omo-ikirodah Congratulates Oshiomhole by Franklinadaz: 5:09am On Mar 17, 2023
Oshomole can you explain why you rejected ministers that came to inspect Good governance when other states accepted them and show their development in their state? Or do you think we don't know that most of your projects were federal government and world bank supported projects? You have deceived us before and used our state money to marry a foreigner, and invest our resources in their country which you cannot get hold of now. So we will not allow you to deceive us this time... You are the most corrupt Gov ever in Edo state

Politics / Governor Obaseki’s Health Reforms by Franklinadaz: 2:47am On Mar 10, 2023
Governor Godwin Obaseki has made tremendous achievements in the health sector and introduced several health reforms in Edo State. Here are some of his achievements in the healthcare sector.

1. Decentralizing healthcare provision and revamping Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) across the state to provide quality healthcare services to the people, including the provision of equipment, drugs, and other necessary facilities.

2. Revitalization of the School of Nursing and Midwifery, which had been closed for over 10 years, with renovation and provision of modern facilities to improve the quality of training for nurses and midwives.

3. Ongoing upgrade and reconstruction of the School of Health technology.

4. Investment in Healthcare Infrastructure, including the upgrade and reconstruction of several hospitals, such as the Stella Obasanjo Hospital, to provide specialist services like renal care, cancer treatment, and dental care.

5. Immunization and Maternal and Child Health services have been prioritized, with the provision of vaccines for children and pregnant women, as well as equipment and trained health workers to improve the quality of maternal and child healthcare services.

6. Partnership with International Organizations to improve healthcare services, including training health workers and support for maternal and child health services. Partnerships include the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the World Health Organization (WHO), and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).

7. Championing of the largest-ever medical mission in Nigeria by the Association of Nigeria Physicians in the Americas (ANPA).

8. Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic, providing necessary equipment and facilities to manage the disease and establishing isolation and treatment centers.

9. Introduction of the Edo Healthcare Improvement Programme (EHIP) to provide affordable and accessible healthcare services, including the establishment of community health insurance schemes.

10. Establishment of the Edo Health Insurance Scheme (Edo-HIS) to cater to the health needs of workers in the state. Public servants on Edo-HIS only pay 10 percent of the total health cost in hospitals.

11. Provision of ambulances to improve emergency healthcare services and reduce mortality rates.
12. Establishment of the Edo State Hospital Management Board to manage and oversee the operations of all government-owned hospitals in the state.

13. Establishment of the Edo State Public Health Laboratory to improve the quality of laboratory services and enhance disease surveillance.

14. Provision of free maternal and child healthcare services to pregnant women and children under 5 years old.

15. Improvement of healthcare worker welfare, including the payment of hazard allowances during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the implementation of a unified salary structure for all healthcare workers in the state.

16. Implementation of the Contributory Pension Scheme for healthcare workers in the state to enhance their retirement benefits.

17. Launching of the Edo Health Data Management System to improve health data collection, management, and analysis in the state.

To ensure the continuity of these giant strides in health reforms, a legislative arm that would support and work in synchrony with the executive and judicial arms is most required.

I, therefore, call on the good people of Edo to come out en masse on Saturday 18th, 2023, to cast their votes for all PDP House of Assembly candidates in Edo State to continue and sustain the developmental strides of this administration.

VOTE PDP

Politics / Obaseki’s Public Service Reforms by Franklinadaz: 12:15am On Mar 09, 2023
It would take a mission of breathtaking ambition to find a governor that is as worker-friendly as Governor Godwin Obaseki in the whole of the federation. As an enlightened collective who make up a significant population of the state, we are aware of diverse interventions by the Obaseki administration which touch on very sensitive areas of our existence; interventions that will linger and still be evident 30 to 50 years from now. Such is the Governor Godwin Obaseki kind of projects, executed without fanfare, pomp or pageantry.

You may compare the Governor to those warlike people whose designs are not known except by the ravaged country through which they have passed. Only that in Governor Obaseki's case, whatever country he passes and whatever innovation his Midas fingers touch, always turn to gold.

Oftentimes we make the mistake of thinking that the grass is greener on the other side, until irreversible reality dawns on us as a result of our wrong choices. The public service in Edo State has become a comfortable work place, a respectable institution, with rights and privileges being enjoyed by civil and public servants, just as it should be.

While we may consider these as our rights and privileges of service to the state (and we would be right to say so), we should however keep in mind that majority of our colleagues in many states of the federation, do not enjoy such privileges, due to maladministration, executive recklessness, profligacy and lack of value and innovation for the public service.

Today, Edo State Government, under the leadership of Governor Godwin Obaseki, pays salaries on or before the 26th of every month to civil and public servants in the state. This has been so for more than 6 years of the Obaseki administration.

In May 2022, Governor Obaseki increased workers' salaries in the state by 33.3 percent, without any prompting. Minimum wage was increase to N40,000. Edo State is the only state to have done so, while many states of the federation are battling with the N30,000 minimum wage.

Governor Obaseki established the Edo Health Insurance Scheme (Edo-HIS) in order to cater for the health needs of workers in the state. Civil and public servants on Edo-HIS only pay 10 percent of total health cost in hospitals.

Promotion of civil and public servants in Edo State is regular. While many states are battling with arrears of promotion, Edo workers have been promoted up to 2021. The 2022 promotion for workers has just been approved by Governor Godwin Obaseki, less than three months into 2023. No other state in the federation has done so.

In terms of workers training and retraining, the John Odigie Oyegun Public Service Academy (JOOPSA), was established by Governor Obaseki to build capacity in public servants in order to ensure effective and improved service delivery in the state's public service. Such trainings are also equipping workers in the state in achieving their personal and professional goals.

In 2022, over 4,000 young graduates and professionals were recruited by the Obaseki administration into the state’s civil and public service, and over 30 first-class graduate were recruited automatically into the Edo State public service.

The Governor has also granted automatic employment to best graduating students of Edo origin in universities across Nigeria. This is First of its kind in Edo and it is the only state in Nigeria doing this at the moment. All these are geared towards improving service delivery for both the public service and the people in general.

Edo State under Governor Obaseki runs on e-governance in order to enhance the operations of government and cut down on the cost of governance. It is the best e-governance state in Nigeria today. All MDAs are onboarded on the electronic governance platform and it is the only state in the federation to have achieved a hundred percent adoption of e-governance. This has immensely exposed public servants in the state to a digital world and improved their capacities technology-wise.

The Civil Service Secretariat Complex which was once an eyesore has been refurbished, rehabilitated and reconstructed with state-of–the-art facilities that can compete with any in the developed world. Civil servants now work in the best of offices as one can find in developed countries. The dignity of the state’s public service and its pride of place has been restored.

In order to ensure the continuity of these giants strides in public service reforms and workers' welfare, a legislative arm that would support and work in synchrony with the executive and the judicial arms is most required, not one that would turn the state into a battle field and become a source of distraction to the state government's ongoing reforms in the civil and public service.

We therefore call on all civil and public servants in Edo State; the teachers, lawyers, doctors, engineers, from the auxiliary class to the professional class, the executive and administrative classes, to all come out en masse with their family members, both immediate and extended, on Saturday March 11th 2023, to cast their votes for all PDP House of Assembly candidates in Edo State, as solidarity votes for the good work the Governor has done in the life and professional career of civil and public servants in Edo State. And by so doing, we would be inadvertently asking the Governor to do more in other areas of the public service that we may seek improvement.

This is why we ask all public servants to vote for PDP's young and vibrant candidates in the forth coming House of Assembly elections in the state. This is in our best interest as well as the interest of the generality of the people.
