He knows too little than his sense of reasoning can permit Ni. Respect for elders and compassion for children is part of my own religion.

Little does he know that, he may not live up to the age of that man except by grace of God. Especially with these reckless utterances..
Did you give the same respect to GEJ or the Igbo children you killed in 1966?

what about educating the herdsmen of the economic effects of their activities

Interestingly and on the contrary, what you have said actually helps FFK's rant. If you take out the word fulani in your comment and replace it with Herdsmen, you'll see the similarity in historical pattern as FFK was saying. Herdsmen are Hausa's and Fulani's combined (possibly have some foreigners too), but the hausa's and fulani control the entire security apparatus in the country right now even on regional levels and they combined make up over 80% of the entire population of northern nigeria (Yes, northern nigeria is at play here). Another point to note is that, a genocide is when over 100k people or more are slaughtered in a civil crisis. While I agree and believe that majority of Hausa and Fulani people are people who just want to go about their lives and live it peacefully, the herdsman on the other hand is an armed militia/business men, with the legal license to carry automatic assault rifles. Keywords "herdsmen" "northern nigeria" "genocide"

Now, I that have re-imagined the similarity for you, here is the what FFK was saying, he's worried that the with way the herdsmen are sort of being protected by this administration, they could be emboldened to carry out a genocide. Do you agree? For me, I think it's a very realistic threat. Here my own picture

First of all I agree that the AM radio station targeting only fulani herdsmen could be an effective tool to reduce illiteracy within the group and possible soften them, it could also be a fantastic tool to easily mobilize this group that is already armed to spring an attack. So the success of the radio depends on the actually genuine intentions of those creating it. Buhari might be doing it with genuine intentions but those he sends to run/manage it might not.

With a poorly managed radio station, the currently somewhat psychological support the herdsmen are getting from the current government and little spark of a small community clash, the herdsmen could easily strike a location very much closer to them in the thousands and then boom genocide.

Let me say this in another way, imagine that a community clash causes a TIV community in Benue state to kill maybe 3 herdsmen, and now thanks to the radio station a commentator on the radio cries about how the herdsmen are being killed like chicken that they should rise and defend theirselves, thanks to now dedicated radio station now reaching a much bigger audience , 5 thousand ill advised herdsmen could easily be mobilised to Benue state and before a large contingent of the Nigerian Army gets there, that 5,000 armed with assault rifles could easily kill over 200,000 people. The herdsmen are already very good at springing surprise attacks. That's how easy it is.

And trust me in that scenerio nothing go happen. some scape goats will be arrested and put on trial for decades but the status quo would still remain thesame, politicians would come out and sing kumbaya together, the state will be declared a state of emergency, military would fully occupy the state, and surviving TIV would accept their fate that "this is nigeria". Take the TIV tribe and replace it with any other minority tribe within easy access reach of a large amount of herdsmen and it's the same and nothing will happen. This could also happen in either igbo or yoruba land, but saying nothing will happen is unlikely as an event like that would increase thirst of blood from the retaliating big tribe that can lead us back to a civil war. The polity is very heated, FFK's words are as realistic as it gets.

I worry that a genocide by the herdsmen is something of when not if...because all those parameters needed for it to happen has already been placed and as I stated expect the status quo to remain the same if the tribe attacked is a small tribe, the country would continue to exist unabated.
For once I have seen an educated person on this forum. Keep it up

Seems you forgot Governors are often referred to as "Chief Security Officers" of a State.

If he doesn't have control, what are the votes for ? Read again...slowly this time!
you write in ignorance. Security vote is not for security alone. It is fund for the executive to tackle urgent or sensitive issues without the rigour of parliamentary appropriation.

Ode, you can tackle Insecuirity by creating economic oppurtunity that would lead to meaningfull employment to the jobless youths instead of dancing shaku shaku with over $1million secuirity votes monthly.

with such secuirity votes he can convineintly start building agroprocessing factories at each local goverment
factories that would be destroyed by the fulanis before take off?

We already have many militias in this country, from street gangs, to vigilantes, to cultists, to organized crime mafias, to militants, to terrorists. State police would be just another Governor's militia that will eventually be politicized and used to suppress opposition and oppress non-conforming citizens. State police will just be another 'Gestapo' rising. Most of our Governors already have power-drunk dictatorship tendencies, and they are just looking for foot soldiers to solidify their rule. State police is a very big NO. Nigeria is not civilized enough for it. State police is not a MUST before states can have good security. What are the governors doing with their inflated security votes money? These wayo governors sef grin
is the police and army not being used for vandeta now by the fulanis?

Two sides of the same coin.

Ipobs are herdsmen without the weapons yet. Right now they terrorize their own people, forcing them to observe compulsory sit at home orders.

One would have thought that with the way Igbos enjoy the open and inclusive societies in foreign lands, they would be a doyen of liberalism, multiculturalism and inclusiveness.

Instead, the Igbos are still stuck with the "evil forest" mindset, where the isolated clan sees everyone else as an enemy that must not be fraternized with.

I however refuse to give up on the Igbo, and hope that one day the Ebonyi man will feel welcomed in Anambra, and the Imo man will have a say in Abia.

When such harmony eventually happens intra-tribal, then I would become hopeful that mindsets that resist intertribal and interreligious tolerance like that quoted above, are about to decay and wither away.
The same you that don't want Igbo in Lagos

A typical Igbo man reasoning, Umahi and Obiano hosted same people but we didn't hear such from you but Okorocha hosted same it became an issue.

Thank God you didn't Okorocha has wasted Imolite money in hosting Hausa-Fulani people.

No difference between an average Igbo man and a black South Africans they share things in common, they lack building of bridges across ethnic and religious line, and alway play the victim card.

They always feel so important and full of themselves and with a nonsense claim of other ethnic and religious group feed from them.

The way we play politics here in the south east is laughable. You didn't vote for apc in the last general election, yet you turn around to endorse an apc house member for speakership position, a position we may have gotten if we had given the apc at least two states in the south east.
Anyone who votes against APC must be killed and yet you complain about hatred for APC.

This is one of the problems I am having with those of you who play politics with bitterness. Does one need to be Apc member to say the reality on ground. I really don't know why some of you love to be in self denial. From Umunya / Nysc orientation camp/ I. e Enugu / Onitsha roads down to Akwuzu , it's only those born of hatred that will deny the effort of the federal government going on in these roads. Same at 9th mile .

I don’t have the picture but if you are conversant with the road I will give you the Clear picture...... The road starts from that Ogbunike bypass enroute Umunya (that’s the NYSC camp) and at the moment work is at Igbariam junction..... this is a road that the Pdp people gave contract for about five times without work and nobody was prosecuted..... now it’s being worked on.... remember how muddy that Umunya area usually looks that most motorists bypass it and go through Nteje.... Buhari is the best thing that has happened to SE people I know they hate to accept the fact......,

From 1m it was embellished to 3m, and now it is 3.5m but with 6m already being considered.

By the generation of my grandchildren, the notoriously ludicrous Biafran propagandists would have begun to claim that 10m Biafrans were killed in Ojukwu's war because Nigeria did not show mercy to a rebel state that waged a war.

Kanu remains nature's punishment to bring agony to his own people. If he likes let him personally come and stone the Igbos who refuse his authority to death.
