Politics › Re: Shame On Nigerian Police - All Because Of 50 Naira Bribe They Want To Die by frankogbu(m): 1:09pm On Feb 10, 2009
Even if our premonitions are right, lets not jump into conclusion that it was a bribe case (as nothing in the pictures suggest so). Much have been said and I think the SALIENT arguement are:

They are poorly paid so they could be right
Comment: For Heavens sake, what sort of welfarism would warrant one indulging in immoralty of taking bribes. They saw and were told before they joined so quit if you cant cope.

For not stopping, the woman was wrong
Comment: Absolutely Correct. Why wont she stop. For God's sake, these are law enforcement agents (in the true sense) information they get from you could help in the crime fighting effort ( at least they claim).
MORALE: Do your bit and leave the rest to nature to correct. One tried it along Warri-Port Harcourt Road and went to the extent of slapping me all cos I explained that to another so-called officer that the Drivers Licence of the person driving me was still valid. His vague point was that the photocopy was not clear n demanded we go back to Lagos and bring the original if am not ready to "co-operate" despite driving the latest Toyota Camry at my age.

Result? by the time I finished with my own "madness", even when as far as pouring the about N100,000 mint of 100 note on the express just to tell the I can pay them their gratuity rite on the spot but I dont part with my hard-gotten quids foolishly.

When they say they've bitten more than they could chew, the foolish officer went into hidding leaving the most senior among them begging n removing his cap to show me his grey hairs. I learnt for the pity I had on the old man.

Nice analyses of the glorious days of Nigerian football. Though was young then, Amodu's BCC Lions of Gboko readily comes to mind. The duo of Moses Kpako (Now an Assistant @ Lobi) and his brother, Terfa Kpako comes to mind.

Over the years, the packaging has been so bad that every talent ships himself abroad to join the rat race. However, I still every to lay my patroitism to bare by watching the Nigerian Premier League. Men, the it stinks. Imagine putting on ur DSTV n the flicker that welcomes you is blur. The commentary:

1st commentator: Eh eh eh ( followed by loud cough) that is Yaro of Kano Pillars. eh eh em em imagine his height

2nd Commentatator: yes yes yes he reminds me of Peter Crouch of Chelsea when d lanky tin was in liverpool

I was there(FirstBank Training School, Kano) in July, 2006 and must confess that its the most "enjoyable" exprience. No financial institution ( at least in Nigeria) can match it even in d nearest future. But u have to sit up cos its a blend of social, academic, career and moral activities.

Left them in Feb'07 for obvious reasons sha.

AHHH NA WA

The topic gives a reminiscence of those days. Oga Seun would need to create more space for me cos d list is endless.

Was privy to Master Sheet of a promotion exam in Our teachers house. Meen used d 'opportunity' to temper wit it to my favour. Holla d punishment was instant. It never reflectd on d result sheet. Took 2nd positn even @ dat.

Alonside two of my colleague prefects flogged a JSS 1 student 67 strokes. Regeted wen i found out d purportd offence of d boy waz all make up to rope me in. Want to know d offence? d poor boy was dating my colleague prefect's girlfriend.

Couldnt stand d beating I wil receive if L go home without my JS 1 Maths textbook so decided convert my classmate's. Later found mine n had two. Returnd it sha but was @ d end of d term wen it was irrelevant, REM. NOW REPENTED COS GOD FORGAVE ME.

LIKE SUPER STORY, WILL CONTINUE NEXT THURSDAY

Commenting without conceding to -tve views, l will capture my own view with this statement .HAD ALAMS NOT NURTURED D AMBITION TO BECOME ATIKU'S VP UNDER THER OWN ARRANGEMENT AND SUPPORTD OBJ'S THIRD TERM AGENDA D STORY WOULD HAVE BEEN DIFFERENT TODAY. Pause n think about it before posting ur view fellow nairalanders.

if u are still not convince that it was a case of selective justice, cast ur mind on d on d following million dollar questions left unanswerd.
WHERE ARE HIS COLLEAGUES THAT WERE CAUGHT IN D SAME ACT?

WHAT IS D ROOT CAUSE OF THE TRAVAILS OF COMMUTERS ON LAGOS-BENIN EXPRESSWAY?

WHY WAS AN ASSEMBLY MOVED FRM ITS BASED TO A PLACE AS FAR AS 976KMS TO SIT?

WHY WERE DIA A COMBINED MILITARY FORCE ON D WAITING D DAY HE WAS IMPEACHED? IS IT THAT THEY HAD D PREMONITION DAT HE'LL BE IMPEACHED?

AND LOTS MORE.

NB: There is one string that binds we on nairaland together: we are agents of te much awaited paradigm shift. Lets avoid calling a whole race fools for what they did for their son. l can bet that if it were to be in ur place in d present way of things, it would have been a mamoth crowd. THINK
