Has APC ever zoned it's Presidential ticket? Did Ahmed Lawan, Yahaya Bello and 2 other northerners contest against Tinubu in 2023? Or will the rotation only start in 2027? Its such a pity how shameless some of you are. kufre2010: The dollar man and former chairman of privatisation council has begin consultation.
Dollar will rain at ADC primary.
Now that Atiku has ignoring the rotation of the presidency between North and Southern and Northerners are keeping quiet. I hope they will continue to keep quiet when Southerners will contest in 2031. |
Politics › Re: There Must Be A Primary Election In ADC - Rotimi Amaechi by franvincoop: 2:52pm On Apr 17 |
Now, when you listen to arguments from Atikulates, they are saying the calculations are not correct. That Jonathan used 2 years of Yar'Adua and that rotation does not matter. They are forgetting something. After 8 years of Buhari, it's not a popular opinion in Southern Nigeria that power should return to the North now. If ADC is not careful and they make a mistake, power will remain with Tinubu and they will make a critical mistake PDP made, part of which Atiku and Amaechi were part of in 2014-15. The bolded is the fundamental flaw in your own arguments. It is not atikulators that said Jonathan used 2 years of Yaradua, open your eyes and read the room well, after 8 years of Buhari, can you tell me why your almighty APC refused to zone its Presidential primaries to the South? Have you forgotten Buhari's Ahmed Lawan odour? Another Northerner after 8 years of Northern rule? What about the 2 PDP zoning committees? There is nothing like zoning in the constitution, neither is there any rotation there. 5 years ago could be believe that a Mumu ticket could exist and win elections in Nigeria? Even Buhari who was a Muslim fanatic never envisaged a Mumu ticket in all the times he has run as President, go and verify. But a Mumu ticket appeared and won. Was there also not a "supposed "zoning/rotation agreement that the ticket must be a Christian/Muslim? What happened to it? Bros, wake up and smell the coffee, there is no rotation or zoning, they are just fairytales meant to hold your mind down, when push gets to shove and the situation arises for the capture of power, all those non-existent agreements will be butchered on the altar of politics, just as you watched Tinubu rent fake bishops and won with a Mumu ticket. Now, let me tell you something. The day any political party NWC/NEC whether APC, PDP, LP or ADC ever zone their Presidential candidate to a particular zone of the country, that Party will have no candidate at the Presidential elections because that decision will be challenged in court and the constitution of Nigeria will prevail. APC,PDP,LP or ADC can even have zoning or rotation in it's internal rules and regulations but it's internal rules and regulations are contrary to the constitution of the Federal Republic. This is why no party has ever zoned it's Presidential candidate officially cuz it's morally correct but it's illegal. My opinion for the strongest ticket to oust Tinubu is an Atiku-Kwankwaso ticket with Peter Obi as campaign manager bringing all the South East and Obidient family votes to the coalition. Atiku NE votes Kwankwaso NW votes El Rufai / Tambuwal and co NW votes Atiku/Obi NC votes Atiku/Obi SW votes Obi SE votes Obi/Atiku SS votes With a Mumu Atiku-Kwankwaso ticket, Tinupoo will lose before election day as he will not get majority votes anywhere in Northern Nigeria except Kogi, Borno and Zamfara and in Southern Nigeria nowhere except Ekiti, Ogun and maybe Ondo. SixSeven:

Seems Atiku wants consensus with his northern backing
Obi wants open play
Amaechi wants open play
If we are to be honest with how we have practised democracy since 1999, it should rotate not to the SW, not to the SS but the SE. You can say all you want, that's just the truth. I would have loved stiff competition from the SE but it's obvious who has the people's currency at the moment.
Atiku is still living the trauma of never winning the Presidency. Old people have the baggage of what they could not do during their youth and we have seen this with Buhari, Obasanjo and now Tinubu. Tinubu went one step further to change our national anthem to the old. Buhari entered and first thing on his mind was Dasuki. Atiku will most likely delegate the work to others and will not be hands-on like Tinubu because of his age. But someone also has to tell Atiku that the world has moved on...
They are well spent in politics of the past while these young people are not interested in these old faces. That's one message Atiku is not getting. Those who voted for him in 2019 are now 7 years older. Since that time, children who were 11 years old are now 18. Since Atiku started contesting in 1993, a child of that age is now 33. Since he was a Vice President in 2007, a child then now is 19.
Approximately 39.65% (roughly 37 million) of registered voters are between the ages of 18 and 34. In the lead-up to the 2023 elections, 84% of the 10 million newly registered voters fell into this age category. Those aged 35–49 (Middle-Aged Voters) make up roughly 35.75% of the electorate.

What GEJ did was right, a gradual subsidy removal but you whose eyes were opened opposed it then but supported a total subsidy removal in 2023 when your kinsman came into power. So your eyes were not opened in 2011 but in 2023. Infact your eyes were never opened, na say na your Lukumi brother dey power so even if I'm like make im mess up, u gat his back no matter what. Please own up to your APC, there is no shame in it. Secondly, google still works and that's why you chose to give me Angola statistics of 2023 when Angola was still a member of OPEC. Give me the statistics from 2024 when Angola left OPEC and increased it oil production to meet the subsidy needs of Angolans. I am waiting. nairalanda1: Google still works...
Angola's fuel subsidies, costing ~3.7% of GDP in 2023, heavily strained public finances, forcing the government to cut spending on health, education, and social protection to cover rising oil-related fiscal pressures. Phasing out these subsidies is intended to free up budgetary space, though it drives significant public unrest
SAUCE
Also, your comment means that in 2011, you thought that tinubu was right to oppose subsidy removal, so therefore you are an APC supporter.
As for me, my eyes were opened in 2011, and they will never close. |
Travel › Re: Domestic Airlines Threaten Shutdown April 20 Over Surge In Aviation Fuel Price by franvincoop: 2:05pm On Apr 16 |
Yes, you are an APC supporter and even if you are not, the impression or body odour you give says so. Have you ever been to Angola? Stop saying what you don't know. WTF is Nigeria doing in OPEC? Angola left OPEC, so it will not be held down by the quota system which is holding Nigeria down. Saudi Arabia and Nigeria do not have the same developmental needs. Why do you think USA and Canada are not in OPEC? Or are they not oil exporting countries? Why should Nigeria not leave OPEC and decide to pump even 10 million barrels per day and sell at any price it wants to meet the development needs of Nigerians? Would 10 million barrels per day not be enough for Nigeria to pay subsidy on fuel for Nigerians? Under APC, the FG pays no subsidy on anything, not electricity nor healthcare nor education nor aviation fuel nor even fertilisers.Absolutely zero subsidy. But the same FG will turn around and dispense trillions to unknown low income households as subsistence payments for consumption? Can this subsistence payments not be used to remove even 100 naira from the pump price of fuel as subsidy? Can you name any country in this world that pays zero subsidy on everything to it's citizens? You go too far to use Angola as an example. I will use a not so far fetched example of Cameroon. They are not a member of OPEC, their only refinery burnt down in 2019, which means they export crude and import petrol but there is still a subsidy on fuel which is gradually removed by 5-10% every 7 years. Emphasis on the word gradually. They have SCDP reserves of refined products for 12 months, subsidy on healthcare is via free child vaccination, free malaria, HIV and TB treatment, subsidy on education is free primary school and university education at state universities since 2010 is pegged at 50,000 cfa per annum for nationals no matter the field of study. Remember 50,000 cfa is now around 120,000 naira but in 2015, 50,000 cfa was around 16,000 naira. Can you explain how this happened? Guy man, subsidy was a big hole in our pocket, yes I agree but it was supposed to be removed gradually and was not supposed to be coupled with a currency devaluation because that devaluation caused inflation which caused even electricity kWh prices to go up and cocktail of poverty in this country that is why everyone in Nigeria is now a billionaire cuz billions na water. Subsidy was a scam because the importing marketers could not be controlled, yes but now we have Dangote, we are even shareholders of Dangote. Why not use that budget in the Humanitarian ministry to subsidise fuel with Dangote so the pump price can be reduced by even 100 naira? This at least would be visible and accessible to all Nigerians rather than the shady payments going on in that ministry in the name of subsistence payments? It's very possible you are not an APC supporter, apologies if I rubbed u off the wrong way. Good day. nairalanda1: I know that people think I support APC, or that I am defending government, but for now, even without corruption, Nigeria cannot pay for subsides on aircraft fuel , talkless of any fuel.
See, there is no money provided for such things. Meaning that to pay for the subsides, any subsidies, government is going to have to take money from other parts of the budget to pay for the subsidy on jet fuel. Guess how they will replace it...loans.
Angola pays fuel subsides, and as a result , their government has been forced to take money from government projects like schools and hospitals to pay for the subsidy...meaning hospitals and school projects among others are not completed or abandoned.
When you try to put politics aside and understand why government does some things, you go see that it is not always corruption. My doing that in 2011 is why I don't want a subsidy back. |

The atomic bomb does not even have to be used, you just have to have it. The ownership of the atomic bomb guarantees sovereignty through: 1st strike capability 2nd strike capability MAD - Mutual Assured Destruction For example, no one would have dared declare a no fly zone in Libya had Gaddafi not dismantled their nuclear program years before, same with Syria. As for North Korea, there is a possibility that North Korean can sell nuclear warheads to Iran leading to a global proliferation of nuclear weapons. While the IAEA will be inspecting weapons programs and nuclear facilities, North Korea can even sell a nuclear warhead to a non State actor like IS or Boko Haram. The same proliferation by AQ Khan which was the foundation of nuclear programs and facilities in Pakistan, Libya, Syria, South Africa and North Korea. North Korean with their JUCHE ideology do not have the same concept of life and death as you know it. If they feel threatened, they don't care to nuke Washington DC and let the world end. The question is, do those in Washington DC believe in any other paradise apart from what they are living now? I guess not, so they'll leave Kim be. donleo92: What is the need of having the atomic bomb when you wouldn't even use it

Iran cannot charge tolls but Egypt can charge tolls in Suez and Panama can charge tolls with the Panama canal abi? Please make it make sense or should we go to court? Gotocourt: The legal status of tolling in the Strait of Hormuz is complex and involves several international legal frameworks: Under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), coastal states cannot demand payment for passage through straits, including the Strait of Hormuz, simply for permission to transit.
Iran has proposed legislation to impose tolls on vessels passing through the strait, which would require ships to obtain permits and licenses, effectively creating a controlled transit system.
The proposed tolls could be as high as $2 million per ship, with revenue intended for rebuilding Iran following recent military actions.
However, the legality of such tolls is still under scrutiny, as UNCLOS explicitly prohibits charging fees for passage unless specific services are provided.
This situation raises significant questions about the legality and implications of tolling in a vital global shipping route.

Why did INEC put up David Mark's name in the first place on their website as ADC chairman? Which criteria did they use knowing all they knew since July 2025? TimeManager: Mahmood Yakubu should take part of the blame, he did not recognize David Mark until a week or less than two weeks he was about to retire as INEC Chair. Why did he rush to recognize David Mark just a few days to his retirement?. Just to tie the hands of the new INEC Chairman.

Politics › Re: INEC 2025 Memo Reveals David Mark-Led ADC Caretaker Committee Is Invalid by franvincoop: 1:33pm On Apr 06 |
Good points though but afterall said and done, could you explain to me on what basis did INEC put up David Mark's name as ADC chairman in the 1st place? Putindbutt: In Summary:
1. There was an initial meeting where the seller( Ralph Nwosu) and the buyer( Atiku) exchanged commodities and David Mark was appointed the caretaker Chairman of ADC.
2. There was a follow up meeting of the NEC where the appointments of David Mark, Rauf Aregbesola, Bolaji Abdullahi and others were ratified (adopted).
3. For there to be a change of leadership or appointment of new leadership of any party, INEC must be given atleast a mandatory 21days notice according to the electoral law. Failure to do so automatically renders such an exercise invalid.
4. ADC therefore failed to notify INEC before appointing David Mark as Chairman at the kangaroo meeting where they all stepped down and resigned and David Mark took over (only Nafiu Bala did not resign).
5. ADC only notified INEC of the NEC meeting where David Mark was ratified.
6. ADC also failed to submit specimen signatures of David Mark and Aregbesola.
So, the pictures and videos we saw in the media where they all gathered in Abuja was only to ratify the appointment of David Mark Committee. INEC was also there. But the important one where he was earlier appointed as Caretaker Chairman, INEC was not there because they were not notified.
I'm waiting for Nairaland SANs to come and tell INEC that they don't know law. |

What does 2nd amendment have to do with arrest or outright execution? Seems you recently subscribed to Netflix and have been depriving yourself from sleep by watching too many movies produced in Washington DC. You are trying to be clever but ended up sounding dumb as fork. For your mind and now, the 2nd amendment gives the right to outright execution abi? Gotocourt: Why arrest instead of outright execution 📌💯🤷🏿.
We need the second amendment law just like in the United States of America 📌💯.
Ratified in 1791 as part of the Bill of Rights, the Second Amendment states:
"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed".
It protects an individual's right to own firearms, a right confirmed by the Supreme Court to extend to self-defense within the home and, generally, in public. |

Even if you give him "only 10 minutes without electricity in the airport" he will still not be able to explain his principals doings. That nonentity you quoted can clearly see the messenger but is color blind to the message. PlasmaTV: What has he done? Explain in 3 sentences. |

This is self Jihad as you are contradicting yourself That North-South rotation issue is wishful thinking and is not backed by the constitution. I know you will disagree so I will expatiate further. If there was such an agreement then GEJ you mentioned above should have never been President ever and should have stepped down for a Northerner to complete UMY term. But here you are wishing he returns for a 4 year term clearly contradicting yourself. Secondly, when talk of this North-South rotation wishful thinking, that's what I call it cuz there is not an agreement written anywhere in law or constitution, can you tell me if there was also such a wishful thinking or agreement on a Muslim-Christian presidency? What happened to it? How did we find ourselves in a Mumu presidency? In a quest to get to Aso rock, everything is permissible as long as it is by the constitution and not wishful thinking. nairalanda1: Well, he could still be.
Atiku being the main opposition candidate is basically handing over a second term to Tinubu, as even people from the middle belt won't vote for him because it would be seen as going back to the north for another 4 years.
GEJ coming back for another 4 years may be the ideal as it would assuage worries about the North coming back and may even be smoother for a South North transition
Obi also is good. The problem is, in order to get northern support, he would have to promise to do one term.
Of course the north is not a monolith by the way, and Obasanjo did prove that the North could be beat |
