Do you realize that costume being worn in Turtle Ninja is not far from that worn in Tales by moonlight. The only different in these two is the story line and film effect.

Are must be the one with Nimo and Mimi story? hoping we could work together sometime. I actually trying to develop 3D animations (part time). Its not so easy. You guys are doing a great job. with what you have, you can get subscription right from T.V stations across Africa. keep it u[

Am a systems administrator and web designer. I do animations for web sites and thus developed animation skills. I have come to realize that Animation story is not a one man thing, you need a team to have a complete story. 2D or 3D, its all good. you can mail me at fred@websenarii.com

AdamuW:

I agree with most of what you said. Sesame Street and Voltron were my major shows as a kid. With Tales By Moonlight and Battle of the Planets.

But I would stop short at saying that all modern ‘western’ programs are morally bad and that Nigerian/African ones are good by default. Or to be more general that western society is bad and African morals and values are better. I think that line of thought takes responsibility away from us and provides a scapegoat. We’re just as moral and as immoral as the ‘west’ it’s just a different flavour. If we were so moral and we were as religious as we all claim, our country would not be in the position it’s in today. That’s my opinion. I know it’s a socio political debate that’s complex and for another time but it relates to children’s programming in a way. And you said it yourself. Sesame Street inspired you.

NTA has a HUGE responsibility here. They were ones in the past who funded good programming but things are totally different now. PBS in the US I think gave us Sesame Street and the BBC in the UK gave so many children’s cartoons. The NTA should be taking the lead here because our children’s social, basic and cultural education is so important. NTA in theory has the mandate and power to do so. Even if the Nigerian/African stations want to import programming they can choose suitable ones of which there are plenty out there and not be lazy and go for the default ‘popular’ ones.

the staff themselves have a major role to play. They have made a good move by passing messages. I really feel for them, but the actual truth is that heaven help those who help themselves. nobody will come and fight for them if they dint start the fight.

they need to go on strike for a day at least. they will run to a big loss and that will attract the interest of everyone and even the company management who wont want that to happen again.

people attach themselves to heroes. the hero is in you. you need to start the fight and other will join you. remember how Nigerians fought against per N50 per minute call by avoiding calls for a day. even though not everyone complied, it still was effective.

GO ON STRIKE, KIDNAP THOSE GUYS. OPPRESSORS ARE COWARDS, START IT AND THEY WILL RUN AWAY.

i stopped giving my babe money for hairdo because she comes back and i cant see what has been done. she simply attach to her hair to make it longer. i told her i will pay whatever it cost the day she impresses me with hairdo.

i tried to make her realize i love her natural hair than attachments but she wont listen. God bless the poster for this, I've been longing for a way to purge my mind over this. Girls are loosing good men over this. i will pick my mum and grandmother's didi any day over this fixing and attachments. I appreciate girl with weaving any day. you may attach but weave it.

not only that. what about face painting, many of them have scrapped off their natural eye brow for pencil designed one. i like the natural eye brow any day. let them clean the pencil and the face appears swollen and very hairless.

I wonder why the poster didn't respond to Ileke idi's first comment throwing some explanation to the matter. A poster should be neutral not taking sides.

take it or live it, something need to be done, we cant continue like this for ever.

Some of these physically challenge do a good job in controlling traffic in V.I. i think Lagos state government should employ those type and leave them to the job as they are doing well. That is what i expect from the others, they should give back to the society.

I give good money to those ones i see sweeping the bridge as i am impressed they sweep better that LAWMA and i will just pass by those ones sitting giving nothing back to the society and expecting something.
TV/Movies / Re: Sesame Street Makes Its Debut On Nta by fred4alabi(m): 9:08am On May 12, 2011
All over the world, someone starts something and others emulate especially if its good. Sesame street is a house hold name, even if we start our own, it may never beat sesame street. if its going to be sesame street, let it be sesame street, if its going to have Nigerian content, let it be something else. why dilute the whole thing. it may in turn lack what we used to enjoy and be heavily criticized because its not the sesame street we used to know. never the less, its a good idea and its welcome.

A day was not complete for me as a kid without sesame street and Voltron. these two program lured me to science and animation which today am partly an animator and am working on several projects to give back to the society and young ones to enjoy what we enjoyed that is no more there today.

Our children spend lots of time on DSTV these days and watch programs that do not connect them to their society and not meant for their age because our local TV won't show what is good for them. So many silly music videos, children belt is corrupt with music videos. My daughter is so crazy about one Hanna Montana and so angry about that because i see nothing educating about the program, its just another mere western distraction from these westerners of no pedigree.

I was listening to a song by Angeliqu Kidjo sometime last week titled "babalawo", and i wondered who told me that story. I remembered I'd watched a kiddie drama on it for years while i was growing up e.g. on children's day and some other days for children. I wonder how my children can get that feeling, knowledge and cultural belonging. My parents never told me the story, i watched it on TV, where are those TV programs that will transcend our cultural values to our children? little wonder they have no love for their father land and all want to go abroad. I believe NTA being a government station owe is a duty to uphold these cultural heritages. Do schools these days tell such stories? Most schools are busy imbibing and copying western jargon either sensible or not and as such sky-rocketing schools fees.

sometimes i get scared of how to train my children in this society to develop their minds the way mine was. As a kid, i learned moral values from my parents and learned cultural values more from the society which includes TV. Our society has losing it all. God help us.

Politics / Re: If Buhari Wins That Is The End Of Nigeria by fred4alabi(m): 12:13pm On Apr 06, 2011
Honestly speaking, canvassing for vote is not by discrediting others but by massive and explosive heart to heart talk with people whom you need their vote. If possible, you negotiate for support. Attacking opponents wont get anyone anywhere.

I was formally supporting GEJ, i lost confidence in him after his interview on CNN and failure to turn up for the most watched and independent NN24 presidential debate.

My support for Buhari fell in the bin after reading lots of offensive postings on Nairaland by some pro BB.

Supporters of Buhari and GEJ need to realize that some people are yet to make up their mind as regards choice of candidate because they have no sentiments in these candidates. So, i strongly advise that they canvass for vote than destroying opponents.

Maybe, I'll just go for Shakarau, just maybe. if Pat Utomi could step down for him and his supporters are not destroying anyone for selfish reasons, perhaps, I'll vote for him.

Politics / Re: 7 Reasons Buhari/bakare Will Lose The Elections Despite Growing Popularity! by fred4alabi(m): 9:22am On Mar 03, 2011
In as much as i rather prefer to just read and hate to involve in matters on Nairaland due to very impolite and insulting way nairalanders we regard as elite address and abuse themselves over matters because of their different opinion, I will like to add to this one.

I firstly applaud the poster for a job well done, but i will like to attract the attention of the poster and people with similar opinions to some facts.

1. Result of the voters registration.
Someone said a bulk of the voters are in the rural area without access to dailies and internet. Voters registration has Lagos with over 5million voters followed by Kano and some other big states. This states are not GEJ favoured state. if you can capture Lagos, Kano, Oyo and a few more states with large volume of voters, you may be on you way to victory. so the bulk of the voters this time around are in the urban areas.

2. Jos crisis.
The jos crisis has just simply shown GEJ's incapacity. An ex-military or a security conscious leader will know that Plateau state demands a state of emergency. GEJ is probably not conscious of what to do or lacks understanding.

3. Charisma. GEJ and his first lady lack it all. GEJ's interview on CNN with Aisha Sasey and some other media made him lose my vote after several months of my support for him. His wife's open and public poor English use is also not helping matters.

4. Buhari may not win outrightly but will pull down PDP down than they expect. If GEJ would win this election, it will be very slim and Buhari's effort will make win the next election. GEJ would be the last PDP presidents if he wins.

Are your parents aware of your askings of him?

if no, then you deserve it, otherwise, your parents should be the ones asking him on your behalf if the need is very important (e.g seeking admission into university etc), then let him ask your parents of returns if he can.
Sports / Re: Adeboye Predicts Brighter Days For Nigerian Sports ! by fred4alabi(m): 1:47pm On Nov 09, 2010
Really, we should watch the way we speak in public as many might perceive us the way we are not. Am not a religious fanatic and am just hearing for the first time that Pastor Adeboye dined with the likes of OBJ, IBB etc.

I don't see why anyone cannot dine with them, really i cant say what i will do or say if i come across these people (OBJ, IBB) one on one. I can pick one or two things OBJ and IBB did good, though there are several they had done bad and many they didn't do at all. so, its not for us to judge. The position is a delicate one.

Religiously speaking. I read somewhere in the bible that Harlots went to Jesus Christ and He didn't turn them back, so why should Adeboye turn IBB, OBJ back? then he would liking himself to GOD which he is far from. Perhaps, they went for confession or advise.

Men of God don't turn anybody back. It is their job to convert the wicked and save them and also remind you the saint to keep up your good work. can you claim to be a SAINT?

This is a very marvelous job because am also working on a project like that which basically is on teaching aids to teach abstract subjects like chemistry, biology and likes. so, i know what it takes to come out with something like this. i tell you, this will take nothing less that 3 months of hardwork.

for those who feels some things about the character and concept. let me briefly tell you that in cartooning, the basic concept is to catch the audience and pass the message. the kids that the cartoon is meant for wont see most of the things you see.

I say a BIG BRAVO to you guys. you just gave me some more inspiration too.

@ all nairalanders. i enjoy reading on niraland always. i just wonder why some people just pick at the another like they knew each other before. I always find it interesting. My greatest regrets still lies in the quote of chief obafemi Awolowo in 1974 that "its better to be an illiterate than being half educated".

Majority of comments and feed back i read on nairaland is much sponsored by half-baked graduates and people who perhaps never was privileged to attend a private school of any sort. i just wonder how Nigerian have negative thoughts about everything, no bit of positivity in some of them and yet they want this county to be great. Great country emerges out of citizens with great minds.

Nigerians have people with great minds too but are greatly surrounded by people whom are products and frustrations and ready to frustrate everybody and everything.

The first thing your customer service officer would ask you to do at GT Bank is to change your ATM pin as soon as you receive your card. That rules out an Insider abuse.
Every GT Bank branch has a CCTV camera covering the front yard.
One other point you didn't state was when the event occurred, because GT Bank has asked their customers to return their old ATM cards as it will expire on August 31, 2010. They are to be replaced with a mastercard ATM that is more secure.
If you have the new one, then I'm afraid your card was compromised. No case there.
ENJOY!!!

I believe you work at GTB and had not been defrauded by this means before. I am quite aware of the rudimenst you are trying to explain, and coplain is that despite all that, people still get defrauded. The anoying part is that the bank dont do anything about it. My case happened May 12th 2010 before the campeighn for change of ATM card started. they told me, they would investigate and at least get the picture of the perpatrator, and till now 26th August 2010, they havent gotten me the picture nor even made a call to tell me how far. Am trying to get over it, so dont get me upset the more by trying to defend GTB. let them just get me the picture as promised and leave the rest to me.
