Look at people being butthurt over someone's decision concerning HER life. So what if a girl doesn't want to get married? It's her life and her choice. Worry about your life and stop killing yourself over another's. Many of the pro-marriage haranguers on this thread are either in terrible marriages or singletons who are desperate for marriage, and just can't grasp why some else wouldn't. |
nonxo007:No. Do they have to be for me to KNOW that an adult should mind his/her business at all times? |
Judgemental Timi, bad grammar and all, thinks he can dictate how grown people can amd should live their lives. Really. No one gets married with the intent to divorce later on, but life is filled uncertainties. It's definitely not by force to GET or STAY married. Timi et al, take note. |
Sexist pig. What has Akporo's wife got to do with the issue on ground? |
The A7 2017 is definitely a sleek beauty with more up-to-date technological features, while the C9 pro is seemingly more rugged. Which ever choice you make would be great, really. |
introvertme:This is blasphemy! |
funmisticqueen:I left her out because I didn't get her inclusion in your post. Meyer is not a feminist and it's okay. As for your mythical "holes ", do they differ from the absurd one about 45 year olds being single? Your post ruffles nothing, ma. If for anything, it is amusing. "The of a Chauvnist who Swears She Is not One" Ain't it funny? Yeah. Sure, it is your opinion; and I've given mine in the past two posts or so. Oh, and congratulations on your epiphany. Nice advice. If you were as curious and as questioning as you admonish me to be, you wouldn't believe in the existence of God. |
Chommieblaq:Key word being you. That you earn equally doesn't mean every woman. It doesn't make the 83 cents to a dollar for female/male income disparity a facade. It doesn't make the unresearched, but still obvious gap in Nigeria a lie. For you to "think" that something is nonexistent does not truncate it's existence. As for your female boss, do you think she'll be where she us if a few women (and men) had not devoted their lives to fighting for the opportunity for her? For us? Wouldn't we all be rotting off in a hut somewhere constantly stroking the larger-than-life egos of our husbands if not for the efforts of these few courageous humans? You assume don't like politics because?? Women, like men, like power. They don't venture because they aren't allowed. Because they are stiffled. Because we wouldn't vote them. Because we'd rather vote a "strong" man. Because the few ones that have stepped out have been let down; most painfully by we, the women. Key in Hillary Clinton and Sarah Jibril. As for women who are materialistic, i wouldn't shame them. As a matter of fact, the society is to blame for their mentality. They've been told that they're second fiddle to men, and as a result have learned to depend on them. If you, as a person, disapprove of them, then be a feminist. Let us all be feminists and watch the world improve. |
Interesting read. However, I wonder how showing love would bridge the gender pay gap, reduce the unequal representation of women in polity, abolish child marriages amongst other pressing issues. Your post shows you were never really a feminist; you were, at best, a subtle misogynist. Because I wonder how someone who claims to have belonged to a progressive movement like feminism, ever if for a nanosecond, would hold a view as ridiculous singleness at 45 being crappy. So, women that don't find suitable men for marriage should kill themselves? Or better yet, those who decide not to marry are subhumans? And the whole Beyoncé crap is just as ludicrous. How do you people even think of these things? Lawd knows I can live with a misogynist who proclaims herself as one, than a misogynist that lies to herself that she isn't one. Sis, you're either a feminist, or you're not. Your whole gender neutrality and "love cure" is as chauvinistic as chauvinism gets. |
The O.P's ignorance is not as nauseating as that of the mod who moved this piece of sh*t to the home page. |
So many problems facing in this country, but someone else's sexuality is our utmost concern. Brilliant priorities, guys. Brilliant. Lynch gays, while your leaders lynch away your commonwealth. |
Erngie:I guess the Ghanaian cleaner, who battered his wife is a bad boy, and the dead lady stayed because of fame and money, too. Sometimes, i wonder how you sanctimonious folk think; it's despicable to say the very least. |
The existence of sensible men like Strahovski1 renews my hope in humanity. For the "marriage is not a bed of roses" folks, hope you'd hold the same view if it were a woman caught in the act of sex chatting? |
Very well written and timely piece. Rape and other forms of assault will continue to thrive if we do not squash the victim-blaming syndrome, which ironically is carried out by more women than men. How will we grow when humans like Jodha think a rape case is being blown out of proportion and someone deserves to be assaulted for being a "she-devil"? |
haywire07:You lack common sense, tact and empathy. |
Kaycee7:Really? Do you know how traumatizing rape itself is? Talk more of carrying the child of the monster that violated one. Anyways, i don't expect you to understand. As for the first point, many women who abort do so as a result of abandonment by their baby daddies. So, if you don't want women aborting, better make sure the men responsible are forced to accept and take care of mother and child (ren). |
Let's stop being sanctimonious. Despite being illegal, many people still engage in it, so why not legalize it, then? I'm in support of safe abortions for those who want to. You just can't force people to birth and/or raise children. Like the poster above said, it's not worth it bringing a child one cannot take care of into the world. |
jimfarayola:My headache is that you're so eager to engage an innocent lady in a topic you know nothing about. If you don't like her feminist views, be smart enough to oppose her in your own words. |
How can someone give himself a headache over someone else's opinion? S.m.h |
Her hair line is popping. Shame on Dino for denying paternity at first. |
People need to stop depending on celebrities to stand up for social causes. They are entertainers and not activists, and do not owe you sh*t. 99.9% of those celebrities protesting are only doing for the media attention/ accolades it'll fetch them, anyways. |
She's gorgeous. |
torqque7:Is the girl married to the wife? Did she swear to be faithful to her? Therefore, the blame belongs to the randy man, who blatantly disregarded his vows, as well as his child. |
The dude is a scumbag. |
She spoke the truth. Marriage is simply overrated. If you get married, fine; if you don't, fine. People need to know that the Mrs. tag and/or wedding band is no measure od success. |
. |
Some women and their extremely low self esteem. I hope your husband cannot leave you because of infidelity, too. |
The idiotic man vowed to be faithful and loyal to his wife; the girls did not make any vow to their friend. So, the sexist folks on this thread should desist from shaming the girls After all, if they hadn't slept with him, the randy, old fool would have found other girls to screw. Plus, the daughter most likely knew she wasn't friends with saints. Hence, she should accept this as one of the hazards of such friendships ![]() |
idupaul:The fact remains that you cannot punctuate properly. @ Topic: The Dj is a pathetic being. I mean, who judges a large group of people based on a few experiences he's had? He's lucky his ancestors made it out of the slave boat; else, he'd probably be just another Nigerian. |
This is sad. What's the point of stating her ethnicity, though? |
Makeup is art; and in art, the artist is free to do as he/she wishes. Also, i believe she has a mirror. So, she sees herself each time she's made up, and above all, likes herself. Who, then, am i to complain? |
I'm pretty sure the "keep-your-marriage-at-any-cost" mentality most Africans have made her stay in the abusive marriage. R.I.P, dear. Oh, and death to the bastard of a husband. |
?

I can never forget the time a bike hit my car in Lagos and I came out to talk with the bike man and he just kept staring at me without saying a word till I got pissed thinking he was being unremorseful and cocky till someone that could speak his language showed up and he started talking ,it was then I realised dude wasn't being cocky ,he just didn't understand what I was saying
