please is it compulsory you use your personal proof of funds or someone close to you?
It is highly advisable to use your personal account, especially if you are going for masters, and you don't have above 30m in your account, if you are working, you can use your pay slip, it will help u alot, but if you dont have the aforementioned you can use your close relation, his or her personal account because embassy will call them to comfirm.

You should also note that in this 2026 visa application, interview at the Portuguese embassy in Abuja is now compulsory.
Very soon l will be posting some of the interview questions you be expecting.

Please I'm sincerely curious, do I need English proficiency cert to apply for masters in portugal ?
It is not compulsory but some schools request for it, so we advice add you add it, never forget to write good motivational letter, another important documents is CV, the more experience your greater chance of getting admission, even Recommendation letter, it put you ahead of others in getting admission and also even Scholarship with good grade. As the admission is getting competitive, you will have to put in a good application if you want to get admission.
legalize your documents before applying, this is very important, because most applicant that applied last year without legalized certificates was denied admission.
