ABOUT FLIGHT BOOKING FOR VISA APPLICATION:

Important notes on flight reservations for visa applications:

1. Flight reservations/itineraries often get cancelled within 72 hours.
2. Despite this, they are still acceptable for visa applications.
3. You don't have to use the same flight when your visa is approved - you can book a new one.

IF YOU ARE USING:
Sponsorship

1. When being sponsored by a relative, sharing the same surname can simplify things.
2. This helps establish ties more easily.
3. However, if you don't share the same surname, you can provide evidence to support your application.
4. Remember not all types of visas require sponsorship

FACTS ABOUT GETTING VISA APPROVED
To increase your chances of getting a visa, demonstrate strong ties to your home country. This can include:

1. Family ties
2. A well-paying job
3. A business or other professional commitments

The more connections you have to your home country, the stronger your application will be.

No one was able to booked. Embassy do not give VFS go ahead to release date. Those telling you to bring money for slot want to dupe you. They will just collect your money and apply for other categories of visa for you. Just keep your school updated.
Portugal Visa appointment date for study was not open, work and that of other categories was opened. Top secret I will share with you guys are
1 No that Portugal embassy is getting overwhelmed by the high number of applications they are receiving, so very soon they want to start cutting down number of visa approval, I have been privy to observe some certain changes at the embassy presently, documents submitted to them for verification take weeks now before they send to NUC.
I was not suprise they did not open portal for student Visa appointment booking this October, it is obvious they might start tightening their immigration laws just as countries like Poland did in the area of Visa approval and Appointment.
These are my takes, if you are waiting for visa appointment the best approach nowbis to reach out to your sch to help you schedule study visa appointment by reaching out to the embassy, many schs have helped their prospective student in that regards.
As the process is getting tighten any one looking for admission shd try and get his or her documents authenticated and legalize before ending of November and then apply for admission because that's the best period to apply for admission, yes there are no submissions appointment, but you can get Expres appointment to submit and legalize your documents on time and stand a better chance of getting admission with first attempt because that's when sch in Portugal give the highest number of admission and this will help to save extra application fee for you and applying on time help you to sort out appointment issues on time, those that apply early last year can attest to those fact.
Lastly during your admission application proccess focuse on schs that aids their students in securing visa appointment date at the embassy thats the dynamics now, this is very important.

Travel AdsRe: Important Of Home Ties To Getting Visa Approval by freedomtours(op): 6:42am On Sep 22, 2025
When being sponsored by a relative, it's better they share the same surname

It's easier to establish ties that way

Notwithstanding that, if you do not share the same surname, attach an affidavit from a High Court

You must show that your whole life awaits you back home.

For example;

1. Your children
2. Your spouse
3. Well-paying job
📌

Endeavor to attach any of these to your visa application depending on your status

1. Father's consent letter
2. Mother's consent letter
3. Husband's consent letter
4. Wife's consent letter

The visa officer wants to know that you did the entire application yourself at the same time your immediate family is aware of the application

4. Business etc

The more connection you have with your home country, the higher your chances of getting a visa

[quote author=Odingo1 post=136732837]Pls what is the amount of proof of funds required for Portugal student visa and must someone legalise a document in Portugal embassy, their admission process is very difficult 😞

Amount Proof of fund depends on your course and and if you are going with your family, you can do the calculation
Portugal has one of the easiest visa process.
Get your documents ready befor October and apply for admission in November if you don't wish to apply to 2 or more schs before getting admission. That's the best time when schools have high admission rate.

From 18m and above, especially if u are not moving with your family.
There legalisation process is not difficult and you will need to legalize before applying for admission, because most of their school there request for it
Even though some wil ask you to apply without legalizing but after collecting your application fee they will still denial you admission and will also state you was denial on the same reason.
TravelRe: Anyone Studying In Portugal!!!! by freedomtours(m): 12:58pm On Sep 08, 2025
Studying in Portugal 🇵🇹 is considered cheaper than most European countries because

•you can pay tuition in 8 - 10 installments and tuition ranges from 1000-7000 per year , depending on course and school.

• Students can also move with their family if they can prove enough finance.

• Citizenship in 5years (study year included)

• Work Dey ( but the wages might not be as high as bigger countries like Germany and France but it’s enough)

• your spouse can work, free education for your kids and free healthcare for all

• Automatic Citizenship to your child if you give birth in Portugal.

someone requested that why l decide to post it here.
Note: This is a top secret the best time to apply for admission is in the 1st phase of Admission Cycle, which start by November, because that when most of the schools in Portugal admission quotas is highest, that is to say, one chance of getting admission is high during this period
compare to other phases in their cycle of admission. you need to factor this because of the fact that you are going to pay application fees and some school application fees are as high as 50-70 Euros, I know some people that applied 2-5 times before getting Admission, so in order not to find yourself in this situation, you better apply early when your chances is high.
