It is not compulsory but some schools request for it, so we advice add you add it, never forget to write good motivational letter, another important documents is CV, the more experience your greater chance of getting admission, even Recommendation letter, it put you ahead of others in getting admission and also even Scholarship with good grade. As the admission is getting competitive, you will have to put in a good application if you want to get admission.
legalize your documents before applying, this is very important, because most applicant that applied last year without legalized certificates was denied admission.

Please note that IPB open first phase of admission application today
but you will have to apply with legalized document.

currently UPORTO is open in some departments
many schools will open its lst phase in February
ISCTE 2nd phase have open
NOVA IMS will be open 3rd February

some schools like ISCTE first admission list will be released first week of February

make sure you authenticate and legalize at the embassy before applying
sometimes mail the school and the course directors and also check their programs for more information before applying.

payment for visa fee is by cash at the embassy, so you will go with cash, you can check the exchange rate online.

check from ending of this month, but you can explore other options to get your documents submitted on time if your target is to apply early to schools in Portugal, because getting that online appointment is not certain and beside you might still not get closer date for submission and by the time you will secure the appointment, get your documents verified and legalized at the embassy the school you want to apply would have closed application.

My visa category differs from a student visa, although it also requires a Type D national visa. I am a beneficiary of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (see link: https://nawa.gov.pl/en/scientists/the-ulam-programme) for established researchers to conduct research in Poland. I submitted a detailed email to the embassy, and included my offer letter, monthly stipend details, and full credentials. My host at the University of Warsaw also contacted the embassy with my details too. I guess that was why I received the phone call and my appointment was scheduled. If your case is the same, you may consider doing that. Please avoid some un.fortunate sc.ammers in this thread that are asking for money to be added to a paid WhatsApp group or to book an appointment for you. Many of them are impersonating Freedomtours and sending unsolicited messages. Just ignore them.

The last I checked about a year ago, student visa appointment was about 500k with no assurance of visa

Getting Visa appointment for any category of visa is high now, yes people being denied, and many are also getting visa approval, that's if you put up a good visa application and addressing what the Visa officer needs and some times it goes beyond the requirement you see on their website.
with me my little experience, their requirements sometimes are generic, that's if you provide the right documents, you don't need to submit too much documents to get visa, mostly in the area of your sponsor financial capacity, if you have someone in Poland, sometimes they go as far as calling those your sponsor, relation in in Poland in other to verified and they do this to all the applicants, i can attest to this because i have experienced it with some of those that got visa and they confirmed to me that their sponsors and the rest was contacted. Another thing is you study the pass questions to score high during your interview question, this is very important, even wrong flight itinerary can cause your visa denied, they are little things but matters so much.

Yes it can be accepted if it is not hard lamination, besides they will remove it from MOE to put Educational stamp, same at the embassy.

Good morning everyone. Has anybody gotten a study visa appointment this round. The embassy said they will open the registration system yesterday 24/11/2025 @9.30am, but all through it kept saying all slot reserved try later....but for work there were slots available.

You can hardly get visa appointment from there, look for other alternative means of getting visa appointment.
