DixseenMktPlace:If you were not interested, who forced you to read or click the topic? Does everyone have to think like you? This is a research topic for those with such leaning. Typical ignorance of a shallow mind. The food and drink you are chasing will end in the toilet, but this information will exist for life. Why not pursue this?. Appetivisim dey worry you child., grow up. |

Greetings Nairalanders and Guests, I want to share construction pictures of a recently concluded project which we procured as a design and build vehicle. N:B:- The project has been overtaken by time, so questions on quantities and cost maybe outdated. |

@hammermcc, what is your obsession with multi-storey structures?. I remember your failed/ now deleted post/thread (which I commented on Wednesday, which you have deleted the post and pictures) of the culvert you were casting somewhere, With poor design and over ambitious brokage. @hammermcc where do you come in in the Real Estate sector? What is your speciality? If not stop mis information in these technical profession. That Ill design in that deleted post should never be constructed., I repeat. Work with and learn from professionals., AEC is not for newbies to come and make mistakes like Foreshore/Osibona I.e Ikoyi 21 storey fiasco,. Be humble and learn if you are not a professional, and stop being clannish about your village having high/tall buildings. Travel out of your village, and explore, you will be amazed at the volume of Highrise buildings above 10 stories in the Far North -Kano,Kaduna, |
MrSensor: , @ MrSensor, Op did not get the sarcasm. You go fear fear, the bedrooms are not standard in dimension too...., Thus the joke. |
BloomingDale:Good to know you are doing this research and I urge you to keep up the enthusiasm. Solar studies are necessary design and site analysis done by the Architect to create functional spaces, and minimize artificial ventilation, to provide sustainable projects and reducing cost and overall environmental carbon footprint. Making cross ventilation and thermal comfort a result, thus, eliminating the sick building syndrome. Unfortunately, the various stakeholders (developers, designers, town planning authority, general public) over look this initial analysis. This comes at a very high cost during post construction, as often the building depreciate rapidly, developing a high cost for HVAC and other services. A lot of factors determine how the facade/envelope of a structure is oriented. Also, material, client brief, and design. The Architect must(or should) visit the site to take all the necessary observation to enhance Building Biology implementing the following:- Compass (True North), Local climatic zone, terrain/landscape, existing landmark/building, trade winds direction, Existing building line, water line, Datum measurements, Setbacks and Air spaces etc, to properly design a functional Build to avoid a Sick building syndrome. Always engage your Architects/Consultant to prioritize this during design. ( Never underestimate a good Design, because design is everything!!!). Even our forefathers and foremothers knew the importance in our vernacular Architecture, utilizing local materials, ensuring steady maintenance and sustainability, whlie solving local thermal comfort, and not COPY and PASTE. The floor plate the Op attached takes no consideration for cross ventilation or stack effect etc . Illumination will also be a challenge with singular fenestration. #"Respect the Architect" |
Greetings, I will be posting on behalf of Reja Bam LTD, pictures of a completed development from sub structure till fitting. It will be very definitive. We designed and built the Estate the structure is situated. The layout, elevation and 3D models will be posted for reference.

How much for Honda CR-V 1998 model 4 cylinder automatic engine? Borale (i.e stripped) not the complete with alternator, condenser etc? Location - Lagos |
@ Gazzuzz, I've been managing my Honda crv 1998 v4 engine. It smokes and consumes oil. I've been told ringing it will most likely get back to its former state after some time (1 yr+). Do you suggest I change engine? Your feedback is urgent. |
Baroba A country without an efficient tax system should not complain if people don't pay tax.. Apart from civil servants that get taxes deducted from source, majority is private sector cannot honestly say the pay the right tax.. Valid points from Omo T by the way, I have a lotta respect for this beauty.. I have more respect for "BRAINS " |
Those Roundabouts are normal things, so think before you misquote. Have understanding, Human Capital Development is key. Both APC & PDP are guilty, so don't use your political bias to respond. Only mature reply would be entertained. |
How many of those market women would be able to afford 1 sqm of that mall space? I could see a Chinese restaurant in the model presentation of the mall. How many of those working class, indigent folks would all these misplaced projects benefit.? All conduits, if you know, you know.! Another 17000 seated stadium? How may 'professional' teams does Akwa ibom possess? Lagos is still under utilizing its National Stadium even as the former Capital of Nigeria, and most Populous State. No Mega Hospitals for the masses? Mega Schools, Affordable housing using out-of-the-box techniques? Ha!!! ![]() |
@GAZZUZZ, thanks for the advice. But which is the "LESSER EVIL"? A change of sensor or a look into the transmission? I'll explain and participate with my mech/rewire and report back here. GAZZUZZ: |
My CRV 99 v4 speedometer is no longer moving, initially (last week) it kept bouncing(erratic) like a moving compass till it finally stopped and has not moved ever since. We changed the Atf to oando II dextron. My mechanic called a rewire who said a Sensor within the bonnet is bad(even after washing it), still no response. I've not driven it since, as the gears(1-2) take time to engage, and when I engage the Reverse gear, their is a slight jerk. I was advised to change the sensor before driving it so not to damage the tranny. Pls house can someone clarify or help? |

Flat Roofs are expensive to build, and comparatively, its cost of maintainance should also be taken into account. It has its pros, but when it has to be adopted, it should be for functional reasons. If your Architectural Drawings get to any District Office, or town planning Auth., then you will be properly guided/advised. Not all DO's would approve its construction. NB:- Be guided by professional advice. |
Do you also do the M&E Drawings yourselves? |
WiLdFLame:@WiLdFLame, i greet you there, may your EYES continue to sight, Opolo eyes, E no be open eyes! This picture is as stale as yesterday's pounded yam, that can not be warmed. This set of photos was when PMB last visited the National Mosque, which instigated his reluctance to continue to visit or go to such "open"/" public " areas again. For the truly curious, juxtapose this set of photos with open plate number/seal of government, vs those we saw in TV yesterday, that had PMB riding in this same Mercedes S600 AMG Sedan but with covered plate number/seal of government. SHINE YOUR EYES....PMB WAS received lovingly and heroically, but not in the way this bloggers are spinning it. I saw this same fable on other popular blog sites, but as Nairaland is the only one I am domiciled, maybe I might just do a rebuttal, ... well before some else takes the initiative. |
mikolo80:@mikolo80 you see, your defeatist mentality is shocking! What do you mean that we are not ready? That we did not plant Palm oil? What do you know about Capitalism, Globalization and Structural Adjustment Program (SAP)? What do you know about zero sum trade, Free Trade Zone? What do you know about Mercantilism and Free Market? When leaders like Awolowo was supporting the Agbekoyas during the popular uprising against international benchmark for pricing Cocoa beans using dollar increase and the over supply of cocoa leading to a crash of price, thus reducing our estimated earnings. The sad thing is not that we ain't ready, but the saboteurs, and enemies within. Everything we import today, we were able to manufacture pre and post independence, till the early eighties, when the Reaganomics and the Brentton woods institutions began to "Seduce" our un-ideological leaders like Babangida, Mobutu, etc. Did we not manufacture Tire (Dunlop), Vehicles (VW,PAN), Ajaokuta, Textiles, Refineries, first TV station in Africa and Eastern Europe(WNTV) So what do you @ mikolo80 mean by "WE ARE NOT READY" African/Nigerian Youths - Emancipate yourselves from Mental Slavery. When was Christmas first celebrated in Nigeria, and under what circumstances? The Stock Exchange that Unilever intends to raise the funds from also negates and form of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). This is a face down, Ya@#$h up thing... Let's believe in our selves.... Africa is the NEXT FRONTIER, and we must not allow history repeat itself. Unilever, Royal Niger Company (UAC), Nestle, Mikano, John Holt, Leventis, Lister etc These Corporations run a global CORPORATOCRACY- THEY ARE THE MASTERS- THEY ARE AFRICAS GREATEST PROBLEM. THEY ARE THE REASON WE CANT GENERATE POWER, SO THEY CAN CONTINUE TO GIVE AN EXCUSE FOR IMPORTS, AND NON-VIABILITY OF SETTING UP SHOP HERE. THEY ARE THE REASON INDIGENOUS COMPANIES CANT COMPETE WITH THEM BECAUSE OF THIS CUT-THROAT, CANNIBAL CAPITALISM. cc @Originalsly |
Formerly called Lever Bro. - This Conglomerate and it's ilk were and have been the bane of the progress of the Nigerian Society and the African Continent. They are the greatest exponents of Africa's underdevelopment. By exploiting our resources and markets with their so called "Margarine" "Soap" "Cooking Oil" etc. Palm Oil a major industrial input, which Nigeria (former Eastern Nigeria) was dominant, was exploited and under developed, by exporting the raw materials to their metropoles, then bring back the finished product for sale to the African Continent. Do you not observe that the same structure is still being adopted today - viz Crude oil exploitation and its eventual importation back to us as a finished product viz PMS/Petrol. Did chesse(wara), Sher Butter(which is edible) not exist? Didn't Africans Have Black Soap(made from camwood and palm oil)? After many years of its operations in the most populous Black Country, and all its profits, this Centurian organization, has now deem it fit to build a 2nd grade factory with a paltry 4 bn factory, after realizing that its continuous importation will erode established profits as a result of the Forex situation, and ban on some consumable by the Buhari Administration. Africans must WAKE UP! |
