Good day all. My Honda Accord 07 drivers door does not activate the inner light, and doesn't make beeping sound when you insert the key in ignition.
On the dashboard all the other doors show indicator light when open except the drivers door. How can I fix this?

I'm about to join the "car owner" association for the first time and I'm seriously considering a Honda Accord 2007 DC (4-cylinder).

The funny part is that I don't even know how to drive yet, so this car will literally teach me how to drive and hopefully not teach me financial lessons too. 😂

I'm a businessman in Abuja, and apart from personal use, I might put it on Uber or Bolt for a while to bring in some extra income instead of letting it sit idle.

My priorities are simple:

- Reliability.
- Fuel economy.

- Availability of spare parts.
- Peace of mind.

For those who have owned or driven one, would you recommend it as a first car?

Is it a sensible choice, or should a first-time owner look elsewhere?

What are the common issues to watch out for before buying one?

Abeg, advise a future car owner before I use my hard-earned money to buy premium stress. 😄

That's the car I'm currently using. I bought mine a few months ago.
My advise go with a mechanic to inspect the car. If you can scan it, better.
Check the engine and gearbox. Make sure the gear selects well.
Generally the car is a sweet ride. Honda built that car way ahead of its time.
The handling is superb
The speed is great
The AC Na freezer
The sound system? Oh my goodness!
Mine has heated seats and heated side mirrors
Volume control on the steering.
The parts are cheaper than its counterpart Toyota. Imagine I bought shock absorber for 8k direct Belgium.
In terms of fuel consumption make sure the oxygen sensor is working.
If the thermostat is there it's an added advantage for fuel economy.
The gear is a 5speed automatic, so on long distance journey it is more economical.
You have to be careful about the ball joint maintenance. Buy original ball joint 12k and you won't experience leg pull. Also make sure they put locking pin after tightening the nut.

I changed the oxygen sensor today, got toks for ₦20k, the car is working well now, on closed loop. Thanks.

Both are related to Oxygen sensor. Which will also affect vehicle operations

I traced the negative wire of the sensor and discovered a cut along the line, fixed it connected the sensor and the code p2185 went away. Now I'm stuck with

And it's still on open loop

Let me say you are work in the area that affect the car, but your approach affect you.

Concerning the Odyssey sensor used, find out if the odyssey use K24 engine or J35 engine. If it K24, am expecting it to work.
The sensor is two wire as follows:
1) Yellow/ Red wire-- sensor input ie 5V
2) Green/Black wire---sensor ground ie return voltage to ECU

Now measure resistance of sensor with multimeter at various temperatures to determine if sensor state is good. See expected reading of that type of sensor as follows
Approximate Resistance Values:
Honda ECT thermistor resistance range;
20kΩ @ -20°C (-4°F)
0.1kΩ @ 120°C (248°F)

Now to check your voltage measurement when sensor is install and connection is correct, it will varies between 0.5v to 4.5v based on temperature of sensor.
Measurement is between chasis ground and green / black wire.

The ECM expects a voltage that corresponds to these resistance values; an open circuit or high voltage (e.g., 5V) indicates a faulty sensor or wiring.

Good day guys. I have a Honda Accord 07 with stubborn code P2185. I noticed the previous owner changed the radiator to a type that doesn't have coolant sensor. I opened one of the lock nuts at the bottom and installed a sensor. But if I erase the code, it comes back immediately. I checked the voltage coming to the sensor, the positive is 5v but the negative doesn't read in continuity with the cars negative.
Note: The sensor I bought I think belongs to a Honda Odyssey, must it be Accord sensor b4 it will work? Any ideas?

I use the same oil. So far no complaint. It's good. I recently changed my engine . That's what I've been using. Tiny light Camry. Use it for Bolt and I change every 3000 miles

There’s this jerk when my car shifts gear, sometimes multiple jerks when driving. Rpm meter also fluctuates when such occurs. Thought it was fuel line issue so I changed fuel filter & spark plugs. Issue still persists. Ran a scan yesterday and the mechanic says fault is from the gear box though he wasn’t specific and says he doesn’t work gear boxes. I’ve already ordered for the dw1 oil for an oil change but I’m afraid if issue persists afterwards I may begin to consider a gear box replacement. Scary! Anyone experienced this before?

Check your vehicle speed sensor make sure it's working well. Also check the one at the wheel, sometimes kazeems cut the wire mistakingly and tell you it doesn't matter. Both can cause the symptoms you mentioned.

I recently observed that when driving with the AC on, the temperature guage rises above the half benchmark, but once I put off the AC, the guage comes down almost immediately.

Also this doesn't happen when I am driving at a free road, everything is fine if there is no traffic and AC is on.
But once I am in a stop and move traffic and AC is on, temps starts shooting until I switch off the AC before it goes down.
Please what could I be looking out for?

Do a small test, when stationary with AC on, and the temperature rises, bring the rpm to 2000 and watch the temperature gauge. If it comes down, the culprit is the water pump.
Another thing I will suggest is to bypass the AC heater hose. Sometimes if it is blocked it creates a vacuum in the cooling system.

I don't have need for it, so I decided to sell it. It's working perfectly well. The remote is available.

I noticed that when i use my car with AC for a very long time and it get very hot, the car begins to jack, vibrates inshort it would look the car is having a nervous breakdown.

During this time, if its on idle, the car sounds very fine. However, i engage it the gear on drive, it begins to vibrate and struggles to move.

What could be the wrong please?

You forgot to mention the car and model. But if it's the type that use high tension wire, I'll suggest you change them.

i experience overheating in very traffic on very hot days..
after a while.. my mechanic said The fan isn't spinning as it should so he flushed radiator and changed fan... however the overheating continued on very hot days and traffic but temperature goes to normal once i put off AC...

now i observed later that i started losing coolant.. so he pressured check and we saw radiator has started leaking now... so he suggested we replaced the radiator and change gasket that the gasket may be the reason why the overheating persisted after we fixed the fan back then ...

now my question is hope changing this gasket won't affect engine performance because right now the car drives really fine and responds well...
and I'm shocked he's saying we change gasket... especially when i don't have white smoke in exhaust or oil mixed with water or anything... even performance is fine...

just the overheating in intense traffic or when parked in the sun for long with AC ..

please help me please

If you decide to go his route, don't let them grind the top, just change the gasket and couple engine back. If you do..... Car would be sounding like grinding machine later.
