Hey guys
With the rain that has been falling in Lagos since Friday , would love to know wat the situation is in your area wiv regards to roads.

Here in Amuwo Odofin, the inner streets are horrible. The flooding is better unimagined!! But aside that, the main FEStac roads are ok wiv the exception of minor floods!

TRADELYN: With less than N7m, simply be a sole distributor of a fast moving product in Nigeria or any African country of your choice in the cosmetic industry.

This product is tried and tested abroad grin and can be more profitable than "Oil & Gas" business.

PropertiesRe: Lagos Landlords And Their Quest For Office Workers by freetowns(op): 8:21pm On Jul 25, 2014
acidtalk: I feel you.
Been through that road before. They always assume those corporate tenants have a steady income unlike the business man.
whereas when we are paying the full rent, the so called corporate bankers are splitting their rent into 3 installments.

Its all about the landlord. A business experienced landlord/lady will not do such.
Spot on bro.
PropertiesLagos Landlords And Their Quest For Office Workers by freetowns(op): 7:50pm On Jul 24, 2014
Ok. Been looking for an apt around mainland Lagos for the past one week. I have the money to pay for a good house but its hard as almost all landlords are asking for a coporate client. I run my own business and employ people in my office but cant seem to get an apt cos m a business man.

I dnt really get the idea in this. I remember in d past 4months, i got a call from a landlord asking if one of my employees work in my office. I said yes. But now I who own the office cant get an apartment cos they want coporate Igbo, Yoruba Banker ,Hausa oil worker or Efik Lawyer.

Its getting really hard for any business man or woman to rent a house in Lagos!! Goodluck if you happen to be an Igbo Trader-real goodluck to you

laudate: Why do we like re-inventing the wheel in Nigeria? And why do we like follow-follow mentality or copycat syndrome?

There are so many eCommerce sites in Nigeria already. Just talk to the owners and upload your 200-plus household items on one of them, or divide it between all of them. That way, you benefit from the huge traffic already existing on those sites and you free up your time to do something more meaningful.

Collaboration is the key ingredient that is lacking in the business space today.

Instead of having a few major players that can have the financial & technical muscle to drive the industry, you then end up having multiple, fragmented players that operate below par, and are not adding any new innovation to the business.

Chai! shocked
Wat d hell u talking about. If u are not a web designer, shut d eff up!!

pickabeau1: Very good points

Don't worry its only a matter of time when children here will leave their old folks to be on their own

Now parents die with their kids living abroad

Who cares about in laws

The prevailing ethos is me n my spouse
Untill then.
TravelRe: How Best Do I Get Out Of Nigeria With My Family by freetowns: 2:12pm On Dec 19, 2013
dabossman: And you think the majority of our kids here are well-behaved with good character and orientation? That we bow or prostrate to greet our elders, call them sir/ma and so on does not mean we are cultured when the average Nigerian youth (16-40) doesn't know that he should slow down for pedestrians at a zebra crossing. They will respectfully insult your for correcting them when they do wrong. Many are chasing riches without any plans to work hard for it. Majority are so lawless.

Those values we cherished are long gone. Was in a BRT bus sometime last year and kids in school uniform wouldn't even stand for an old woman. I had to give up my seat for her. They just went on chatting.
I know some of our kids in Nigeria here lack respect and training but u cant compare with raising kids in d west, Absolutely NO WAY!! That the kids do not respect elders or zebra crossing is just the tip of bad orientation. Being someone who lived in the West with family before returning home, kids raised abroad is anoda ball game. They truly respect those in authority like Teachers, police, wardens but have no amount of respect for their own parents!! Just tell my last son u wuld inform his teacher abt his bad bhavior at homeand see how he begs.

I rather my children grow up where they can have a solid identity than somplace whr sum1 will never cease to remind them that they are not true citizens but borrowed regardless of their birthplace and having tax paying parents.

I believe I have everytin to make my kids life here better and also instil family values in them. I want kids who will always remembr me in my old age not like what i witnessed with the old caucasians in Europe. Life of loneliness in a care home!!
TravelRe: How Best Do I Get Out Of Nigeria With My Family by freetowns: 10:29am On Dec 19, 2013
Hmmmmmmm. This step u are about to take is surely a mind boggling one. I just relocated bck to Nigeria and so far am not regretting it one bit. Remember is not easy to raise kids abroad. Yes they can hv d best of education and all. But character and orientation can defo go sour with kids raised abroad.

All I can say is this: it is ur decision but make the right one for d good of ur sanity.

What is this one saying huhhuhhuh?
50calibre: Gosh!!! When will guys like you pull heads out of your as*ses and reason properly? This comment got you 28 likes, I'm guessing mostly from women who reason like you.

@ the bolded, what exactly do you mean by unjustifiable violence against women? So the violence would be justified if it isn't a woman?

We all know what befalls a thief caught in Nigeria, or are you saying they should have allowed them to walk away because they were women? Why don't you go amend the law so women won't be punishable for any crime, that way we can know you are truly a woman's man.

Don't misunderstand me, I'm appalled by their treatment, not because they are women but because they are humans. Neither man nor woman deserves this.

Unfortunately, this story has attracted so much outrage & sympathy, very typical of Nigerians, the white man brings them women's rights, they take it overboard, classic stu*pidity. How many men get lynched in Nigeria everyday, yet these 2 women who in my opinion, had it easy, get much more sympathy.
