Sometimes people don't really bother about system update on their phones, as far as the phone does all the necessary things they want, some even ignore the update notification on the phone.

Also not only Phone users/owners act dis way, even some PC owners or other software gadget users are guilt of it.

The Lite version plays ok although u may experience Lag from time to time but not always.

I Don't know of the Full Version (PUBG Mobile).

Your phone may be low on storage.

Free up space, delete unnecessary files, unused apps and also enable phone master to help clear cache. Get a memory card if u don't have one.
