Nigeria will not disintegrate.
i dont want to believe you are wicked, nigeria not disintegrating is a curse, how many people have to die because of this crazy one nigeria, what the hell are you gaining in this shiithole? It is better we go our separate ways and prosper than being together with so much bile and hatred. In mathematics when you have a big problem you break it down into smaller fragment, you then collect like terms then the problem will be easy to solve. I as a yoruba man, my loyalty is not for the federal republic of nigeria but for oodua land from south west nigeria to benin republic and to accross the atlantic ocean, my best friend in the university is igbo i dont see him as a nigerian his loyalty is to the zionist republic of biafra. The idea of one nigeria is the greatest fraud against black people

My dear, trust me when i say i dislike tribalism and tribalists, i am an advocate for nationalism and not state of origin, but i just get so peeved when i see people trying to stoic their ego by bringing down another tribe, i even chastise Igbos who do it. so maybe i will sheath the sword @ frenchkiss564,, apologises for getting carried away while setting you straight.

My dear after eating your dinner let's converse...sadly or rather unfortunately it's true, tribalism is even practised in schools .. my first direct experience of tribalism was in my second year in unilag, I met a girl we where dating then one day I met her folks and when they learnt I was igbo they told their daughter to be done with the relationship. Second one was when my elder brother was graduating from the faculty of engineering in unilag...the HOD called my mum and explained to her that my elder brother couldn't be given a first class because he isn't from the West, a Yoruba...so he graduated with a 2:1. These are real facts that can be proven... This also happens to a friend of mine who graduated as a doctor from LUTH, he wasn't given as distinction because he wasn't yoruba. So when the schools are teaching tribalism what do you expect? Igbos born in the west are indirectly taught to hate their language and tribe, hence a lot of them try to be Yoruba. I feel so sad about this tribalism problem facing this country for its too far gone to be helped.
you are painting everything as if its a yoruba thing, my brother was also denied admision to study law in unizik, his admision was canceled on the screening date, it was the faculty secretary that told him that as an ofemannnnu he doesnt worth the admision, an average igbo man wants evil to befall yoruba land heck your people celebrated the supposed boko haraam attack on lagos

I have many Nigerian friends in Belfast. In fact it is fair to say my best friend here is an Igbo guy. I am also involved with the Nigerian community though friends and a community group. While there are cultural differences they are generally well thought of. It is very funny though when I meet a Nigerian here for the first time and greet them in Yoruba or Igbo and they are amazed that an oyinbo can do this. The Nigerian community in Dublin is even larger than that in Belfast!

I'm glad you don't see them as economic refugees, I was having a chat wit a Scottish lady asking her what the cost of getting a master degree in Scotland would be like, her response was that she couldn't help with money apparently she thought I was going to ask her for money, although she later apologized but the truth is that she thinks my plan is to come to Europe to seek greener pastures. maybe that's the lens from which Europeans view Africans in their midst, I'm glad you're different sha, humanity needs to learn from you

Igbo people are true Nigerians like any other nation(or Tribes) in our great country. It's time to quite all xenophobia and Negative stereotypes perpetrated against Them. I acknowledge they contribute alot to this country culturally ,economically and in all other aspect so we should all appreciate that. & yep, As a Yoruba man, i won't mind seeing an Igbo person(male/female) in Aso rock in the nearest future. Its time for Nigerians to grow up and understand we're all in this together.

stay there mr one nigeria, these people recently questioned why they are not in governance in lagos, they just questioned the use of yoruba in lagos, they just questioned the celebration of eyo festival, this is an utter disrespect and subtle confrontation

Politics / Re: Why Igbo Must Reject Goodluck Jonathan Now. by Frenchkiss564: 10:23am On Jan 04, 2015
GhaliNaaba:
APC presidency in 2015 means reality of Igbo presidency in APC, since south west and south south had their shot in 1999-2007 and 2009 -2015 respectively. So the presidency will automatically goes to south east in 1923. But that aspiration and hope might not become reality if jonathan win in 2015. Igbo must not forget history and they must refuse to be used and dump by ijaw man from otuake. Tell Ijaw race to support you on Biafra struggle and am sure they will reject that with violence. The same Ijaw race made igbo loose Biafra struggle when they rejected Ojukwu outrightly and decided to pitch their tent with northerner and this caused death of millions of Igbos. Ijaw still celebrate that victory of defeating igbos soldiers uptill today and Obafemi awolowo remain their hero in Ijawland. So igbo stop playing second fiddle to ijawman. You are superior in nigeria so you must vote for change.
mr op no group is superior or inferior to the other

The calls from Yorubas all over the world for Igbos exit from south west is gaining momentum online and of course offline and the sole responsibility of keeping this momentum lies on our shoulders as Yoruba youth. I ll get in touch with few people within my reach in the next couple of weeks and see what happen from there...........

It's high time Yorubas Leaders are confronted with our demand which is "IGBOS SHOULD BE KEPT AT BAY IN OUR POLITICAL SPHERE".

I am equally suggesting that a Yoruba Youth Defence Movement should be inaugurated right here on Nairaland and .....................

i am wholly in support , all this disrespect must stop, no part of sw will be used to experiment this stupid one nigeria. Thanks for the reply

You are right my Brother. The drum of war is being beaten by the Igbos in south west by demanding for what they would never give to others in their region. It's quite sad that our relationship with Igbos ll be caught short, any moment from now.

They deserves to be treated the way they are being treated in the north(except the violence) and that is exact treatment we should be subjecting them to but not violence though. What I meant was that our political leaders should ensure that Igbos are kept at bay as far as south west political sphere is concerned
what is the OPC doing about this utter disrespect, calling our land no man's land, even questioning the use of yoruba language in Lagos, threatning our govt to fund their yam nonsense, one day this people will question the authority of our obas. Are we truly soft that they disrespect us on our land and we pretend nothing is wrong, where are yoruba youths, like you i dont support violence against this people but something must be done about this open confrontation and disrespect. This is a duty we owe the unborn generation unless our unborn generation becomes tenants on their own land. I am dissappointed no yoruba group has ever raised this issue. Enough of this disrespect

Politics / Re: Alleged Marginalization In Lagos: APC Tells Igbos To Seek Dialogue by Frenchkiss564: 9:57pm On Dec 29, 2014
Ikengawo:
For the record

Lagos's original indigines were water dwelling peoples know are the Awori
It was first administered and ruled by the Bini Empire, the word Eko is from their language for war camp. In Yoruba it mean 'Learn' which makes no sense.
It was taken from them by the Oyo Empire
then it was taken from them by the Portugese
then taken from them by the british
then populated with returning slaves from Brazil and Sierra Leone
then after the Kirijiri Wars came a flood of Yorubas
then Igbos and Hausas
then it was merged into the Nigeria as the Lagos Protectorate which was a combination of the Western Colony, Eastern Colony, Northern Colony
then it became Nigeria's independent capital
then it's commercial capital

Lagos is as Yoruba as it is Bini, Awori, Portugese, and British.

This is why it's said to be a no man's land. The center of SW nigeria or western colony was Ibadan not Lagos. Yorubas were even bared at a time from entering Lagos because the British didn't want them to bring their conflicts from the Kirijiri Wars. While at one point of it's history lagos was a part of the Oyo empire, so where parts to Togo.

the romans gave britain its name does that make britain people romans, the name nigeria was given by a briton does that make nigerians britons, the lagos monarch is from benin so is the benin monarch from ife, even the name benin according to the oba of benin was given by an ife prince, oranmiyan does that make edos yorubas? The relationship between the edos and the yoruba is something you cant fathom. Peace

This is not a thread to bash SA ladies please... Its for discussion. I am just curious and I would really like matured light hearted responses.

Before I carry on I know NL is a nigerian site and Im trespassing so bear with me and dont attack me please... I come in peace grin

I would like to believe that its not the case for everyone but (Some) Nigerian men have many bad things to say about SA ladies... I mean ud expect it from the woman but nope its the men

Now my question is why? What have SA women done to deserve to be put in such a bad light.... Esp here on the forum.

Is it the media? Is it from personal experience? Is it ignorance? What is it?

Can all SA women be:

1. Whores or cheap
2. Infected with HIV/AIDS
3. Uneducated
4. Have many children out of wedlock
5. Party animals
6. Gold diggers
7. That they all want t be with a nigerian man... Or steal him from his family back home

The list goes on.... Im not perfect but I certainly am none of those things and I dont think I know any woman who can be all that at once

Let the bashing begin cheesy
