The phrase " fell on His face' denoted that Jesus prayed fervently in that particular instant. There Iis nothing before that verse or spectacle and after it to suggest/indicate that Jesus required that His disciples should pray by literarily having their faces hit the ground.

Jesus sweated blood while praying in the garden of Gethsemane (Luke 22:41-44). Does it mean that Christians should pray until they start sweating blood?

There are several instances where the disciples prayed after Jesus had ascended to heaven to be with the Father (See Acts Chaps 2 and 12)...Where is the reference to praying with the face hitting the ground?
