Firstly, you forget the party factor APC & PDP. Most of the states in the North are APC states and they have more to gain having APC in power than PDP because most of their cliques are in APC. That is the party argument that will favor Tinubu in APC.

Secondly, Asiwaju Jagaban is a candidate that is well acceptable in the North because they feel no animosity whatsoever towards him. He also has lot of loyal friends and disciples in the North such that anytime he visit the North, you will have past governors, current governors, past senators, current senators as his escorts. He is not only banking on party, he is banking on the network he developed through these past decades of him in politics.

Do you know why MKO Abiola won the North and even defeated Tofa in his home state in Kano? It was due to his network in the North, he invested in people and they owe him so much loyalty that they have no other choice morally than to vote MKO.

Who are the disciples of Atiku in the North and who are his core loyalists? How many states can he influence in the North on his own outside the structure of PDP? If you check well, Atiku has consistently failed to secure meaningful amount of vote until 2019 he used the PDP structure. That tells you that without party structure, Atiku is just like every other neophytes.

Just watch and see, God will give us all long life to witness 2023 election and beyond!
