just finished listening to Agric Minister, seems the garri flour is not just a paper thing. if the Shoprite bread is true, then i might have been eating cassava bread all these while. i think big businesses are taking over our garri, hording it for some purposes-maybe export or flour- purposes we do not know and which is raisin considerably the cost of this commodity.

Just though i should write this. I was chatting last friday with an Aide of Ike Ekweremadu(deputy senate president), he made a point and asked me to note it. He said in the no distant time, corporations will dabble into the only two Nigerian staple yet to be fully be fully commercialized- garri and yam.
I probed him further, but he only ask me to trust my instincts. It wasn't funny. Ppl, i think the picture is getting clearer.

First, it is a very bad policy causing retrogression.
Secondly, this is one policy where i have seen the house divide along 'north' and 'south' not Ibo, Hausa or Yoruba. Notice that no race was implied.
Thirdly, true federalism, reverting to regional govt., or Self-rule is the answer.
Lastly, those that argue against the above can now see reason why we shld join hands and work together to realize these goals.

There is no appreciable growth in dangote flour, and now he has sold out- more losses- for me. Same for overall market. For instance, back in 08 other sectors like bankin, oil&gas and beverages recorded appreciable gains. It wasnt led by one company, not even one sector!
See, this market is not convincing me. Only thing i learnt from this news is that anything with the name of my good friend dangoti will sell- even sand or $#it.

Mention any sector in this Lagos state that the YORUBAS does not enjoy considerate amount of patronage and recognition.

UNFORTURNATELY, THERE IS NO SINGLE YORUBA STATE(CITY- ASIDE LAGOS) I COULD COMPARE WITH WHAT I SAW IN THE EAST. THE LIKES WILL TELL YOU THE TRUTH.

^^Too bad. I recall discussing with a youth corp member, who told me those traders are used to goin to villages in Enugu and Ebonyi to source garri which they sell in Portharcourt.

Unforturnately, Mr Ike failed in his duty for not informing and eduacting us duely before our submission of Memoranda though he is representing us. Is it because he is against or for the state creation? Is it not the duty of the legislators to educate their ppl on modalities for state creation? What is the purpose of 'constituency allocations' or 'get-to-meets'? However they want it, a state needs to be created to right the fundamental flaw- modalities/legislative huddles or not.
