Crime › EFCC Arraigns Man For 44,000 Euros Fraud by fromnigeria(op): 10:26pm On Dec 03, 2015 |
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on Thursday, December 2015 arraigned one Boniface Pius Egbuziem before Justice S.C Amadi of the State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on one count charge bordering on cheating to the tune of Forty Four Thousand Euros. Boniface Pius Egbuziem The suspect, Boniface Pius Egbuziem who is resident in Germany allegedly tricked his tenant in Nigeria into a phony boat purchase scheme. He was said to have convinced the tenant that he could help him purchase a boat in Antwerp, Belgium and ship it to Nigeria. Based on this agreement, the complainant sent Eighty-seven thousand Euros for the purchase of the boat named Kormoran against its original price of 43 thousand Euros. The charge reads: "that you Boniface Pius Egbuziem between January and February 2009 at Port Harcourt within the Port Harcourt Judicial Division of this Honourable Court did fraudulently trick one Kingsley Konugah to pay the sum of 87,000 Euros for a used boat named “KORMORAN” instead of 43,000 Euros, a sum greater than the sum he (Kingsley Konugah) would have paid but for the trick and thereby committed an offence contrary to section 421 of the Criminal Code Act CAP 77 Vol. 5 Laws of Federation of Nigeria 1990 (Revised Edition)." The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge. In view, of his plea, the prosecuting counsel, R.E Alao requested a date for the commencement of trial. However, the defense counsel, Vitalis Ajoku urged the court to grant the accused person bail. Justice Amadi adjourned the matter to December 7, 2015, for the hearing of bail application, and December 18, 2015, for the commencement of trial. He ordered the accused person to be remanded in prison custody.

IamMissMarvel: Igbo's are slowly becoming like the North.
This Biafra protests these past weeks has made me realize that violence is not sectional.
The same Igbo's that are speaking against violence in the north have shown their violent side these past weeks.
If the north and east are agitating for Independence, what can I say if they are exhibiting the same traits? The so called IPOB protests has led to the loss of lives already.
How can you resort to vandalism just cause you're aggrieved?
My suggestion, anyone caught should be made to pay damages. Check your life pls if this how you go about generalizing and digressing unnecessarily. Mtcheeeew |

[s] xharder: HE WALKS ALONE.
Liverpool, one of the greatest Clubsides in the world understand the greatness and benefits of unity and so they scream "YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE"
Well I guess they must be talking to everyone else except Buhari. Kenyatta of Kenya again shows he is out to bring business to Kenya. Remember he personally attended the UN Conference on Boko Haram and terrorism which Nigeria missed. Remeber he attended all the business meetings wherein he sold Kenya wonderfully despite Kenya having self-same problems like Nigeria including Islamism, terrorism, trbalism, corruption, election-rigging etc. Buhari was the only president in the world that went there to call his own people and country corrupt. And you wonder why all the trips have brought zero guns and zero investments It takes a certain ability.
Ability hmmmm. I remember reading Ngozi Okonjo-Iwealla, perhaps the greatest Nigerian ever for using her influence in cancelling a lot of our debt (tell me who has done anything close for us including Awo, Zik and Ahmadu Bello, argument for another day)..I remember her saying how after one of these meetings, she ran after every IMF, Paris Club etc members that Nigeria owed money and how she wooed them and got them to listen and then negotiated debt cancellation. Indeed, these meetings in "Maltina" and elsewhere are nothing in themselves. It is like men coming to play golf. The golf is nothing in itself. It is the meetings and tete a tete and conversations in joke and jest and arguments and cards exchanged and even sometimes the bar later that the important deals are struck.
Struck...take a look at Buhari and tell me this man can negotiate with anyone. In what language? With what accent? With what intellect? With what tact? With what earthly wisdom? Are they from Daura? Are they old and retired? Are those not the only type of people he trusts? You think these men are interested about fighting corruption? These leaders are in many ways corrupt themselves or corrupt money put them in power. THEY ARE ONLY INTERESTED IN MONEY, INVESTMENT AND MONEY. Like Young Dolph ft 2Chainz "If you aint talking money, they do not wanna talk"
And so, for lack of social skills and finesse and savoire-faire, for lack of intellect, for generation and educational gap between he and the rest of the attendees BUHARI, NAY NIGERIA, WALKS ALONE [/s] Author, Definitely a wailer. Just from mere looking at someone, you pass judgement on the person? Smh. |
