Nairaland General › Shoot Civilians, Go To Jail, IGP Tells Police Officers by fromnigeria(op): 2:30pm On Nov 20, 2015 |
Solomon Arase, the inspector-general of police (IGP) has warned police officers to exercise high sense of caution in handling guns while dealing with unarmed civilians.
Arase gave the warning in Abeokuta while addressing policemen at the state police headquarters in Eleweeran. He warned that any policeman who shot an unarmed member of the public would be jailed. “Shoot a civilian, go to jail,’’ he warned, while directing that any police officer who engaged in indiscriminate shooting should be arraigned within 24 hours of his arrest.
Arase also warned police commissioners not to send officers with psychological challenges on assignments. He warned his men particularly those in convoy to stop using horse whips on members of the public saying, “Nigerians are not animals.” He announced that the police authorities had concluded plans to construct 25,000 post retirement housing estate for its officers across the country.
He directed Abdulmajid Ali, the state commissioner of police, to look for suitable titled landed property where such estate could be built in Ogun. He said 36, 000 officers had benefited from promotional courses during his tenure, adding that those with additional qualifications were being considered. He reiterated his determination to improve the welfare of men and officers of the force.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Ali requested the police authorities set up six additional area commands in Ogun. Ali also requested for additional manpower to enable the command check the increasing security challenges. https://www.thecable.ng/.Vk4pdqKqV6I.twitter |

Decker: I'll tell you what, even if she says you should have sex with her just once, she would still demand more sex from you in the future and it will lead to the start of a romantic affair between the two of you, and such would in turn jeopardize your marriage. So you shouldn't even consider her request at all.
Since you don't want to cheat on your wife, the best thing would be to just keep quiet and keep rejecting her offer, and giving her the reasons why. But if it gets to the point that she is actually firing you just for that, then I'll advise you report her to her superiors, I mean, you have nothing to lose. In addition, try and record discussions where she threatened you, as evidence incase |

Mr. Dasuki had said in a statement Wednesday that all contracts and accruing payments were made based on the approval of Mr. Jonathan, adding that due process and military procurement regulations were followed in all the transactions.
“Nigerians should note that all the services generated the types of equipment needed, sourced suppliers most times and after consideration by the Office of the NSA, the President will approve application for payment,” said Mr. Dasuki.

The only way i can take him (Jimmy Carter) seriously is when he lives just one year as an average nigerian. Then and only then will i take him seriously. |

I always believe that if every nigerian becomes me. Nigeria will be a better place. Not boasting.
Change starts from within, the family, to the member, to community, to the whole town, state. Before we know it, the 37 states will have more well meaning persons and them in extension Nigeria as a country will be a what we are.
Its not difficult, just that some person decided to recreate themselves after their gods created them.

ReportersNG: Let me start by saying Nigeria is neither a country nor a nation but a name given to a bunch of states. If you disagree, check the dictionary meaning of 'nation' : . I want to urge everyone never to talk about Nigeria being a nation because this is the genesis of our problem. We act more than we think, and claim what we not. If i may ask, who are we to blame for our problems? Incase you don't know, the masses are to be blamed. A nation work as a team and follow the path of their leaders. Remember a leader without a team is no leader. Stalin remains the hero of Russia because he forced the citizens to walk and think in the same path. Leaders are not angels but common masses who took a decision and instead of supporting them we condemn and leave them to walk alone. Some people keep saying we need to trace our roots, but can someone tell me where the roots of a seed are? Lets stop deceiving ourselves, we need to plant the seed then we talk about its growing process. How can we plant this seed? First, Nigeria inhabitants have to think about who they are, what they stand for, their usefullness and find out why they got brains. This represents finding the type of seed to plant. Secondly, we need to study our environment, which 98% of Nigeria inhabitants don't bother to study. Its as bad as planting a seed on a piece of rock over-laying a rich humus. A little research and effort could bring a lifetime joy instead of lamenting. Why as why? When you can simple ask How? This two types of question separates knowledge and wisdom. Thirdly , while growing we need spend time gathering needed resources and creating space for a sound growth. But in Nigeria, people spend time condemning those serious about their growth, and this brought about the huge gap between the rich and poor - While others are looking for resources to aid their growth, others sit back and watch - . For once have we thought about the usefulness of social media? People use it to make legit millions daily, while others use it to flaunt themselves, condemn, praise the succesful and waste time. Should it not be a medium for the common man to voice out to the world? Instead the common man uses it to condemn and we keep complaining of stunted growth. Dangote didnt create limestone and as a kid he never knew what it was but after applying the first two steps of seed planting above he was able to discover and use it to claim the position of over 500,000,000 africans. 'why' praise him when you can ask 'how' he made himself to be praised?
To be continued if y'all interested for more ............ TonyeBarcanista, airforce1, hungerbad, fromnigeria, falconey, Cutehector, tosyne2much Well Done. I totally agree with you. Its why some Nigerians are part of the problem of Nigeria. |

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the compulsory retirement from office of Hon. Justice Lambo Akanbi of the Federal High Court, Port Harcourt.
The judge was sent on compulsory Retirement with immediate effect after the National Judicial council (NJC) suspended him and recommended his retirement to the President for misconduct.
In a press statement, the Acting Director of the NJC, Mr Soji Oye, said the NJC made the recommendation to the President after its 74th meeting held on the November 4 and 5.
Shell Petroleum Company of Nigeria had made several allegations against Justice Lambo which were contained in a petition sent to the NJC. The allegations include, the unilateral appointment of one Mr Emeka Nkwo as a referee and valuer in about three suits despite not been proposed by parties in the suit.
The judge also heard and concluded a case without dealing with a notice of preliminary objection on the jurisdiction of his court. Justice Akanbi also sat on a case in the Federal High Court Yenagoa without the fiat of the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court who had already transferred a new judge to the state. www.channelstv.com/2015/11/18/buhari-sends-judge-on-retirement-for-misconduct/?utm_source=&utm_medium=twittercc lalasticlacla |
