Lol.

They are now manufacturing lambas that Giringori was protective of northerners when he was governor when this is the very opposite.

No amount of lies and propaganda can change the average northerner on how they view Giringori as a bigot and an Ipob sympathiser.

But VAT is all about consumption not production and how has una life been better with the assumed high production?
Beggars everywhere in Lagos, I was shocked seeing beggars in front of EKO HOTEL AND LANDMARK AREA
VAT in Nigeria is collected at point of production because of the inadequacy in collecting from the informal retail sector.

That aside, VAT revenue generation per states exposes that the SE is by far the least productive .

Even if VAT is collected at POS , it will not end collection at point of production, that means all other states and regions will still generate more from VAT earnings.

The issue isn't just that VAT exposes how unproductive and dead the SE economy is but the sharing formula adopted still relies on population figures and a paternalistic support from the FG to prop up dead states which is why the SE collects over a thousand percent more than it contributed .

My friend VAT generation exposes that the SE has the least production output.

tanigororo:
Production companies are even exempted from paying VAT, VAT only applies at consumers level. Luckily for them the less it's being collected from your state, the lesser you get.
Wrong.

Companies pay vat on the electricity cost consumed during production and on every other sundry inputs of production

There are also custom officers on site to compute both excise duties and VAT for every commodity produced.

The reason for this was because Nigeria has a huge informal grey sector that makes applying and collecting vat at point of sale near impossible.

VAT then is collected at the point of production there by making SE the least productive region.

oz4real83:
not only production, how about imports and services? It seems agencies deliberately either don't collect or under collect VATs in some places.
Every goods imported has to pay VAT as part of levies at the point of entry.

The Tinubu tax reform bill hoped to address this by empowering SFIRS to collect VAT at point of sale or rather at every point of transaction on finished goods.

That means there would have been a multiplier effect on revenue generation for each state.

Say you buy goods online from a Lagos vendor, you will pay vat on it and also VAT on the transport cost and when you resell it in your 2x4 shop in Owerri , you will pay VAT on Point of Sale . States would have had the power to set the rate on end point consumption but you all said it was a tax regime .
PoliticsRe: VAT Generated By Nigeria’s States And The FCT In H1 2026 - The Cable by FSBoperator: 6:59am On Jul 19
greatiyk4u:
VAT and production related directly?
Typical of Tinubu supporter
The location of VAT collected at the point of production instead of consumption can not be accurately determined, hence, the data you are seeing here

"Hunger is the most honest measure of economic performance because it cannot be manipulated not VAT paper statistics. Until fewer Nigerians go to bed hungry, until poverty begins to fall instead of rise, and until every Nigerian family especially in the alleged highly VAT collected states can once again afford three decent meals a day and stop the embarrassing public begging and constituting nuisance, every claim of economic success through high VAT collection will remain unrecognisable to the people whose lives those statistics are supposed to improve,”
In Nigeria, VAT is collected at source of production and not at point of sale.

This is what the Tinubu tax reform bill was to address but you all rejected it.

Now admire your own ignorance by looking in the mirror.

VAT is not an achievement.

If i tax Dangote 5 naira for a cup of garri, = VAT N5
If i tax Dangote 1 naira for a cup of garri, = VAT N1

It does not mean that Dangote or the environment has become richer or poorer.

The figures could be very real, because Southeast states tax low. Obi is famous for reducing all taxes in Anambra and still having surplus.
What nonsense is this one spewing.

If north can develop a support agri industry that will add value to their raw agricultural output, then every single northern state will dwarf the entire SE combined.

Attach the chat that supports your position. This is how some of you spread falsehood for something that can easily be verified. Nothing in that chat shows or even implies that she went to him for sex. What she has been seeking was financial assistance. No agreement for sex can be seen. In fact, the allegation that her virginity was FORCEFULLY taken is in the chat.
The guy who reported the whole thing to the Police and exposed it on social media said he is withholding other more damaging chats which he says will only be exposed in court.

Let them continue to defend the rapist because he is their kinsman.

It's good to think and process your words in your head before you talk. I have been to courthouse and read multiple case files from my dad's library. it is obvious you don't know how the court works or how reality works. This case is something I follow cause I know people handling it. There multiple rape cases that have been settled with families and nothing has happened to the person that committed the act. Before a case is taken to court it has to be submitted. If the family and the arresting officer as well as everyone involved in the primary stage of the case is settled it will never see the day of court. There are multiple evidence that suggested she went there for sex. The girl in question is a twin and has been buried by the family which I am sure you don't know. You are not even from our town where the girl is from. A courthouse is just a stone throw from my house. The girl in question was supposed to go to Abuja to meet someone else, but this guy told her to come to asaba to meet him in an hotel that he will teach her content creation. She mentioned she was a virgin and the guy said no problem. After the whole rubbish that happened the girl messaged him that it would have been better she went to Abuja because the guy there would have given her more money, but now she lost her virginity she was keeping for 10k, if the chat provided is true. In the chat she also wrote to the guy that he forced himself on her and he has to compensate her properly. The lawyer representing favor family currently is trying to use the case to extort money. it is a lady. You can do your research and see. Just because the public has been made aware of the case doesn't mean it has gone to court. If all parties involve come out and say it was a misunderstanding, the only way that case goes to court is if the government sue the guy to court. Right how it's not the state vs. it wasn't the state that lead the arrest of the guy. It was Israel Joe who told the family that he knows who to call in the police force that he trusts that will get the useless Ifeanyi.
You don't know the curse you are bringing on your head in your bid to turn the victim to a villain in her own tragedy .

I say continue .

That girl spirit strong.

She saw that she could not get justice for herself when alive and now she don cross over to fight for herself.

If you think what your Odogwu rapist is going through can be settled after all the evidence implicating him and with him even confessing to raping her and seen apologising to her parents , then you don't know what he is up against and you that is defending the rapist because he is from your tribe , don't know the curse you are partaking in.
CrimeRe: Leaked Whatsapp Chats Between Odogwu Asaba And Favour by FSBoperator: 12:08am On Jul 19
You can all see tribalism in full effect on this thread with how Odogwu Asaba tribesmen are doing everything to paint the victim as a villain.

And these same people will accuse any one on the drop of being tribalist but see them here doing everything to justify the rape by claiming that favour was a prostitute who deserved to be raped .

Well, you can all continue with all your lies here on the late Favour who took her life following the trauma she suffered following the rape and every rubbish you post about her on the internet will not in any way see to this your fellow tribesmen getting off the hook.

The judge will see evidence that he did indeed take advantage of the girl .

The judge will see the police video and written confession that he made admitting to raping the girl.

The judge will also review video of him begging and apologising to the victim's parents and twin sibling.

This is no longer rape alone that he is facing.

The judge will weigh in and see how the rape was so traumatic on the victim that she ended up taking her own life.

This Odogwu will spend the rest of his life behind bars .

I think one of the primary reasons Nigeria has failed economically under the APC is that both Buhari and Tinubu have ruled the country as if they were still state governors.

What do I mean by that? Their entire playbook consists of waiting for the monthly allocation, borrowing massive amounts of money, and spending it all on roads, bridges, rail lines, and other "feel-good" infrastructure projects.
There is a reason why, in a place like the United States, presidents are far more frequently former senators rather than governors. A president is supposed to be the nation's chief policy formulator and Chief Economic Officer. Your primary metrics for success should be GDP growth, Human Development Index (HDI) improvements, and national revenue expansion. You are responsible for using fiscal and monetary policy to ensure macroeconomic stability.

Consequently, any budget deficit you run should be strictly geared toward increasing revenue.
The idea of borrowing massive sums just to fund roads and unviable infrastructure is deeply flawed. It is the equivalent of a struggling father borrowing money to take his family on an expensive vacation. Does that make any sense? Or imagine a businessman whose company is on the verge of collapse borrowing money in the business's name just to build a massive family mansion in his home village.

Taking a vacation or building a house in the village aren't inherently bad things—just like roads, bridges, and rails aren't bad. But using high-interest debt to finance them when you are already broke will only make you poorer.

The APC as a party completely lacks an understanding of how to grow a modern economy, and the numbers speak for themselves. In just over a decade, Nigeria's economy has violently shrunk from a peak of over $500 billion to under $250 billion.

We need to borrow to invest in our people and our industries, not just concrete. Look at Aliko Dangote: he borrowed billions to build a refinery, paid it back, created thousands of jobs, and is now contributing massively to the tax base. Why can’t the government replicate that model on a macro scale?

Why aren't we actively funding homegrown fintech giants like Moniepoint and OPay (or Palmpay) to completely dominate the African financial landscape? Why can't we back telecom leaders like Glo with strategic loans to expand globally? Why aren't Nigerian pharmaceutical companies receiving low-interest government loans to scale up production and reduce our reliance on imports?
Does the APC simply not know how to think long-term?
Tell your Otti to invest the windfall he is getting from the FG into Arira market.

Must it be the FG that will come and tie your shoelaces for you in your state?

Spewing regular trash as always.

Governors in Nigeria have it good.

They are not saddled with financing policing , detention centres, immigration, etc.

They are not in anyway concerned about having an effective civil service and will do all they can to not pay civil servants descent wages and will owe pensioners till they die.

Apart from Lagos, Rivers , Delta and Akwa Ibom, tell me which state is even trying ?
