gare: I do not understand why some lawyers seem to set aside legal principles once politics becomes involved. As a lawyer, one would expect consistency in interpreting and applying the law, regardless of political affiliation.
In the case of the PDP issue, how can Festus Keyamo focus only on the faction he believes is not recognized by INEC without fully addressing the implications of the Supreme Court judgment? If the argument is based on the law, then the discussion should begin with what the Supreme Court actually decided and which leadership structure or faction the judgment recognized.
Political preferences are one thing, but legal interpretations should be grounded in the facts, the judgment, and the applicable law—not in partisan considerations. You just ended up writing a tonne of bs. I was expecting you to provide the legal pronouncements that recognised this Turaki led faction as the authentic PDP. Why also do you think Makinde dumped them and is running on the APM platform. |

Hangulsaram: For your mind now u made sense, who or where was south south during Biafraa war, where is bite of Biafra located? The minorities in the defunct Eastern Region had been agitating to leave your Eastern region for you to no avail since the creation of Eastern Nigeria in 1951. Western Cameroun cited severe marginalisation for reasons why they wanted to leave Nigeria . If the outgoing British Governor-General had asceeded to the demands of the coastal minorities to have their own COR region carved out from Eastern Nigeria, western Cameroun would still be part of Nigeria. But since the British listened to their house nigger, Zik , they denied the coastal minorities the chance to have their own region. Also, do you know that Benue and parts of Taraba were once part of British Southern Protectorate but on hearing of the colonial govt attempt to split southern Nigeria into two protectorates, the indigenes of the aforementioned provinces petitioned the British that they would rather be yoked to the north than be bound to Eastern Nigeria over their total dislike of sharing a region with Ibos. Nobody wanted to be part of you in the old Eastern Nigeria that was created by the British colonial govt and nobody still wants to be part of you in any useless Biafra rubbish. |

youngEmelex: The Igbos desperately wanted one Nigeria from the beginning. Nnamdi Azikiwe, Odimegwu Ojukwu, Aguyi Ironsi all fought hard to keep Nigeria one. When Isaac Adaka Boro wanted the Niger Delta to break away from Nigeria, the Igbos were at the forefront of crushing that revolution. In 1966, Adaka Boro established the Niger Delta Volunteer Force, an armed group primarily composed of members of the Ijaw ethnic group, and proclaimed the Niger Delta Republic on 23 February 1966. This declaration led to a conflict with federal forces, lasting twelve days before Boro and his associates were apprehended by Ojukwu led soldiers and later charged with treason. Just a year later, the table turned on Ojukwu and he suffered the same fate as Isaac Adaka Boro after he declared Biafra. Fast forward to this present day. Nnamdi Kanu created a security outfit when he saw that Fulani militia were causing mayhem in some parts of the Southeast, the Yorubas were at the forefront of crushing that security outfit and it was a Yoruba judge that sentenced Kanu to life in prison. Few years after that, the Yorubas are creating their own security outfit to contain the influx of Fulani militia. The same way Ojukwu later became victim of what he did to Adaka Boro is the same way the Yorubas will fall victim to what they did to the Igbos trying to protect themselves from Fulani militia massacre. Both tribes are currently sharing the same fate Ibo man and their lying narrative. |

CorrectionFLuid: Biafra didn't like Midwest and attacked it... Lolz
SMH. I think I've made my point by exposing you and your ilks, reason why you're beginning to sound like a drunk. And after this I may not respond to you any further.
Even awolowo was against the creation of the Midwest, and he fought against it.
I have mentioned prominent men who said "no we will no longer tolerate the atrocities meted on us by the west, and we want out"
Till today, you can't bring forth any prominent example of the so-called separatists of the old east.
Adaka boro was not a prominent person of the time, he wasn't even up to the level of Nnamdi kanu. He was more of a Simon ekpa. And he wanted out of Nigeria. Not separation for the eastern region, the way the Midwest did.
Stop accusing people of what you are guilty of. Awolowo never opposed the minorities seeking to leave western Nigeria. He is even quoted as saying that after fighting for independence from the British that Yorubas had no reason to continue the post colonial arrangement . Wasn't it Awo that stated first that "Nigeria was a mere geographical expression". Same Awo that wanted a seccesion clause included in the Richardson constitution. I have a thread here highlighting how the three major tribes saw post independence Nigeria differently.
The Hausa -Fulani saw post independence Nigeria as a cue to restart their halted jihad.
The Ibo saw post independence Nigeria as their heritage to continue colonization of the polity over their subservience to British colonialism and domination of Nigeria's civil service and military.
It was only the Yorubas who wanted to return to true nationalism and regain their lost Oyo empire and that is why the Yorubas never opposed not suppressed the agitation for Midwest region.
A simple Google search will tell you that a plebiscite for the creation of Midwestern region was granted by a Yoruba majority House in Ibadan.
Was this the case in both Enugu and Kaduna ? Liar! |

Politics › Re: Igbos Do Not Need Nigeria by FSBoperator: 2:38pm On May 31 |
CorrectionFLuid: There's only one region where the minorities campaigned extensively to leave and form its own region. And that region is the west. God almighty you guys can lie. The western region remains the only region to have entertained and granted a plebiscite at their regional house in Ibadan for the seccesion of the minority provinces that will later become known as Midwestern Nigeria that is today Edo and Delta state. It's also public knowledge that the motion was raised in Ibadan by a Yoruba man and the majority Yoruba house adopted it without debate. After the conclusion of the referendum, it was still a Yoruba man at the Federal Parliament in Lagos that moved a motion for the Parliament to ratify the plebiscite and recognise the creation of Midwestern region. The agitation to leave western Nigeria was started by the then Oba of Benin who for not wanting to be treated lower in the House of Chiefs began the agitation. Note that western Nigeria was the only region to operate a bimecurial system with the House of Commons being reserved for elected members and the House of Chiefs (similar to the British House of Lords) that was reserved for first class traditional rulers. This house of chiefs served as the Senate . Now let's go to both the north and eastern Nigeria. The mantra "one north" was coined by the Sardunna to declare that the north will not be balkanized. This was due to the agitation of the now present middle belt aka Pagan Provinces to leave Northern Nigeria. In your Eastern region, agitation to leave by the minorities was squashed by the Ibo majorirties almost immediately the region was created in 1951. Western Cameroun opted to leave Eastern Nigeria citing severe marginalisation by the Ibo majority in Enugu regional house. Their wish was granted by the British in 1960 before independence. The minorities in Eastern Nigeria then began their clamour for their own separate region ; Calabar -Ogoja-Rivers region comprising today of present day Rivers, Bayelsa , Akwa Ibom and Cross Rivers. Zik even warned his Ibo majority that any balkanization of the then eastern region by granting the wishes of the coastal minorities will see what is left of the Eastern region, the poorest in the federation and to that effect, the Ibo majority did everything to prevent minority MPs from even mentioning any talk of secession from the Eastern region. The minorities then took their plight to the Federal Parliament in Lagos and secured the support of the north, western and newly created Midwestern Federal MPs to grant a plebiscite for the minorities . This was in late1965 and the matter was rescheduled to the next year and placed as top priority in the docket of parliament to be addressed after the Christmas break A few days before the federal house was to convene, you Ibos struck and dismantled regional govt, imposed yourselves as supreme leaders in a centrist system. This is why the date Jan 15 is very important because the house was just days from reconvening. One Adaka Boro knew what motivated the coup and he declared secession from Nigeria under Niger Delta Republic. Zik ordered Ironsi to stomp out the rebellion which was outsourced to Ojukwu who went on an earth scorching mission pillaging minority communities . This forced Adara Boro to surrender to Ojukwu. Boro was driven to Lagos in the boot of a salon car naked and only given a pair of jeans and no shirt when he was arraigned for high treason . His trial was accelerated and he was sentenced to death by hanging. Meanwhile the bastards that carried out the coup were living comfortably in prison with their salaries still being paid and promotions even approved by Ironsi. The rest is the real history you refuse to acknowledge. |

lawani: The allocations is skewed in their favor but if they take their oil, they will still have even more than what they have now. However Nigeria run by taxes as it is now will by next year revolt against the 1999 constitution naturally as it will be clear that Igbos benefit far more than others
On food they produce, they import and they export just like other parts of Nigeria. The land can produce more value from agriculture than it consumes as it has cassava, palm oil and many other things in excess for export. What they take from the rest of Nigeria is mainly beans, onions, pepper etc and they pay for it with what they export including food
Igbos are not the most dispersed in Nigeria. If people are killed in Jos tomorrow there will be Yoruba among them as it has been like that for years now. Even when no Igbo among the casualties there will still be Yoruba. I am willing to bet that there is no Northern city where Igbo outnumber the Yoruba. Igbo dispersed in Nigeria will be less than 4 million people and Yoruba and Hausa dispersed in Nigeria will individually surpass that number
This year over 150 billion dollars will flow into Nigeria and maybe 30 billion dollars is oil, so nobody is depending on forex earned by oil money. Not even the FG any longer Which oil? Go and locate the last oil production figures per state and see that Ondo state produces more oil than the entire SE combined. You have no leverage in this Nigeria. |

lawani: Most Igbos that I know, that I have met are not traders. They are distributed among the occupations like any other people and in any state in Nigeria, 90 percent of the traders are local people. Igbos only specialize in a few tiny sectors and they are not the only ones in those sectors. Hausa and Yoruba too have sectors they specialize in. Then in the North outside Abuja, Igbo population will not surpass 700k. Population of southerners in the North can't exceed two percent of the total and Igbos can not exceed one third of that population. Do the Maths. In the SW, Igbos can not exceed 2 million if up to that and all groups are scattered around like that. Therefore if other groups can manage then Igbo too can manage. Also, they can change business if they want and invest in another thing. What is important is to prosper in whatever you are doing and have peace of mind They don't need Nigeria you say? Let's start with FAAC allocations and VAT earnings to be specific. With that alone you can see SE is the welfare queen of Nigeria . How about food ? Last time Ojukwu dragged you into a war, you starved yourselves within just 7months following the liberation of the present SS. How about Ibos being the ones maximizing to the fullest the Nigerian franchise by being the most dispersed people within Nigeria. This internal diaspora accounts for a very huge share of SE economy . Let's also look into the Ibo retail business that depends largely on FX sourced from SS oil and a huge market that is Nigeria. If Ibos leave Nigeria, it's their loss and not ours. |
