Many Igbos say they have invested in Lagos but on a per Capita basis it is not more than what the Yoruba have invested in Port Harcourt and etc and there will be no abandoned properties if Nigeria breaks up. It is only that if you are not a citizen you will not be able to vote where you are. I don't see that as a significant development because Igbos have never been able to win one percent of electoral positions in Lagos even as they are able to vote. So nothing significant will change if they are no longer able to vote. What they need is to be able to do their business. The Yoruba and etc also will no longer be able to vote in Onitsha, Awka, Port Harcourt and etc if Nigeria breaks up but they will not stop doing business in those places.

So I do not understand what some people mean when they say Igbos need Nigeria. No group needs the kind of country which Nigeria has become.
