What issues do you have with the car?

First, when I get to around 60/80kmh, i start feeling some kind of vibration like in the cup holder/dashboard area

2. I’m not sure where the water goes in the radiator tank, but every morning i usually need to fill it.

3. Steering usually hard whenever I want to make U-turn or while trying to reverse.

4. The AC thingy I explained earlier, but I found out that when it stops working(blows hot air), and I turn it off for some seconds and turn it on back, it starts to get cold back.

5. I think I need wheel alignment, without touching the steering wheel while on motion, it steers to the right side.

Then probably mini ones. Check engine light , tire pressure light is on.

Remote diagnosis would be difficult.
Could be a failing electrical components. It could even be caused by a failing fuse to the compressor sef.
You'll need physical inspection with an AC system scan (that's if it's still factory spec and not tampered with) to know what's causing the issue.

Lexus Rx350 2009

Recently got a Lexus Rx350 2009 car Nigerian used.


I notice the AC sometimes blows heat instead of AC, other times it works properly.

Anyone have any idea why this is ?

Let’s say 2.5kva is 2000watts.

1hp is 746watts for your AC

Dunno how many watts is your fridge, but it’s usually around 300w to 800w, you’ll have to check the back of your fridge to confirm.


Then do the maths to see how many is left.


2000 - 746 - 800 = 454W left.

So it should be able to, assuming the Bruhm generator is actually 2000W, I have heard generators in Nigeria usually just put numbers on it and it won’t be the actual power.

There is no permit required for factory tint, their is however permit needed for non factory tint except that police no dey disturb some vehicles like Peugeot they would believe you are a uniform personnel.

FRSC has no business with tint permit but fear dem pass police or army, dem fit bill you 3k for just one bulb not working

If I'm in your shoe I will go for either 2006 CRV or RAV 4 for ground clearance due to the relatively bad road as you said. They are both easy and less costly to maintain.
However, on things to look out for, car engine has to be running for you to check the following:
Check exhaust to be sure car is not smoking or having foul smell, Check cooling fans if it's not been directed, Listen to engine to be sure no pinging sound, Test drive to check that all gears are working well.
Other Checks: Check under body for rust, Check custom papers, Check interior for wear and tears. Check instrument cluster for "check engine light" (though may not matter if you don't have a scan tool).
Finally, you may copy the VIN for online comprehensive history and condition of vehicle.

1. Congratulations on being able to afford a car in this economy.

2. The choice of cars (2008 Camry muscle and 2008 Lexus es 350) are terrible choices for your bad roads. But, if the road can be managed, and, if you think you can drive carefully, either of the cars are good choices. I'm assuming your other routes are not so bad, if not, get an SUV.

3. If fuel consumption is going to be an important factor, kindly stick to the 2008 Camry. The four cylinder version of the Camry sports a 1.8litre engine. The Lexus only comes with a 3.5litre V6.

4. As a first time car buyer, you can't know "the things to look for when inspecting". Kindly find an experienced and trustworthy technician to do the inspection. Trust is important because, there are technicians who collude with car dealers. They can recommend "lemon" to you and build duplex on your head o!!

5. The 3-3.5m budget cannot get you the tokunbo of either of those cars. You can get neatly Nigerian used tho. Do your findings.
