I personally still don’t really see Ten Hag as the best man to bring United into success.
Ten Hag is still a relatively inexperienced coach. Ik he took over a relatively stale Ajax team that had failed to win the league title in 5 years, but let’s be honest the academy that Ajax have as well as the resources are a tier above everyone else in Eredivisie.

People take him shouting at Noa Lang as encouragement that he can control the dressing room of United. I’m sorry what sort of logic is that. At Ajax you have what, Daley Blind who won a Europa League and Community Shield at United, Haller who was a West Ham flop, Neres who lost his hype after 2019 and a few others. They are nowhere near the absolute dumpster fire at United. You have World Cup winners, 5 time Champions League winners, 50 million pound right backs, some political activist who can’t even cross a ball properly, 80 million pound wingers etc. It’s a huge step up and you either swim or you sink horribly.

I feel like United should have focused everything they had on grabbing Conte. Conte has done a incredible job at Spurs and sure he will only be a short term fix which compared to Ten Hag who’s a long term solution isn’t as good, but I think United need to be reminded of what they can achieve. They need to be reminded that they aren’t some club that should be sitting at 6th or below, they are a club that have won trebles, won the Premier League 3 times in a row twice.
