Why re-write WAEC 6 times just because of maths? That guy needs to be flogged. On a lighter note, if you want to explore the "journalism field" for example, you just have to know "something" about "everything". Truly understanding numbers and being able to clearly convey their meaning to readers is a crucial part of being a journalist. What if you want to report an election proceedings? You should have a working knowledge of arithmetic, be comfortable with statistics and be able to calculate percentages, ratios and other relationships between numbers. You should also understand what margin of error in polling is, have a basic understanding of probability and be able to work with graphs and charts. And, most importantly, you should be able to use this knowledge to help your readers better understand the issues at hand. |
Soneh: did anyone notice what the man by the left in the second pic is staring at?? thought I'm the only one that noticed. That's Imoke, methink he's comparing his wife's b*reast to Mo's own ![]() |

Ojiofor: ojukwu never recognised Gowon regime from day one and the whole eastern region was under his command or did Gowon send soldiers from lagos to go and effect his release?Ojukwu said in one interview that he freed awo from prison.Of course i read the interview. I know its just a matter of time before you will mention it. This is what igbos keep saying for ages. But did you or others also read about Awolowo's interview? When you read that, you will be more confused as to who is telling the truth between them. If after reading both interviews and you decided to believe ojukwu's version thereby discarding Awolowo's own, then you are a TRIBALIST. Likewise, if i also discard ojukwu's own by believing Awolowo's version, i'm a TRIBALIST. This is where you need to do your own findings from a neutral point. Let me ask you this question: if Ojukwu signed the warrant as he "claimed", why did the effectuation of the warrant waited for so long until it coincided with the order given by Gowon as the head of the revenge coup, for Awolowo to be released? Don't forget that Awolowo was not released until seven months after the first coup of the year in which ojukwu was the Gov. of east while ironsi was the head of state. Did Gowon as the head of state need the consent of ojukwu to order the release of a prisoner in a FEDERAL prison? It is just like saying because Unilag is in Lagos, it is under the control of Fashola. Fashola cannot claim that because he didn't recognise the power of PDP in lagos, then Jonathan has no say in the federal affairs in Lagos. This is why Jonathan can "suddenly" decide that he wants to re-name UNILAG whether it suits Fashola or not. Fashola can only flex his muscles on LASU. Not until the declaration of "independent state of biafra" in 1967, all federal civil servants in the eastern region still reported back to Lagos. |
tit: Which ones is "treasonable felony"?No one is defending Gowon. Of course he's to be blamed. I'm only correcting the misconception that igbos believe against Awolowo, when they wouldn't do their own research but relent on ear say "my great-grandfather told my dad", bla bla bla....and then refer you to "Achebe's" book to buttress their points. |
Ojiofor: if Ojukwu does not have the power to release Awo as you claimed, where did he get power to release Banjo, Nzeogwu and the rest who were prison mates of Awolowo at same calabar prison. Are you aware that Awolowo's release came much earlier before those boys? Because now you are making it seems they were released at the same time. If Gowon didn't made the order for him to be released, would he have gone to meet Awo at the airport to welcome him with the now famous statement "we need you for the wealth of your experience"? Wouldn't he have ordered for him to be re-arrested? Or Awo himself won't even dare step his leg in lagos. Ojukwu only released banjo, nzeogwo and co but that took place in the heat of the confrontations before the civil war. By then, the eastern region was already acting as if its not part of Nigeria. So he needed those boys to fight for him. Even then banjo could not return to his base because he was still not cleared of his charges so he joined ojukwu in the state house at Enugu. This is why I said people should read from independent writers because they will say the truth as it is without taking sides. You can read " Awolowo and the forgotten documents of the civil war" by Odia Ofeimun. Vanguard also carried it on Nov. 10, 2012. |
Even though i want PDP out of power, I still don't think people love buhari as to vote for him come 2015. How many times will he run for this presidency? Didn't he get the message? Honestly I want a new change in government and the best bet is APC. But when they have no credible candidate? It is just like jumping from frying pan to fire. Isn't it better to stay in the frying pan ![]() |
20pounds: He looks like a clown. I bet he thinks that he is better than the present occupiers of the office. Councillor sef, he no go fit win.No mind am. He think presidency is a "royal" thing, he better go and queue behind Emir of kano ![]() MUMU. |
meforyou1: if not that ojukwu released awolowo from prison and awolowo turned to a back-biting saboteur. Don't forget to read achebe's "there was a country".Ojukwu never released Awo from prison, Gowon did. Awolowo was a prisoner of the Nigeria government held in the eastern region, so ojukwu does not have the power to unilaterally release him. Awo was charged with Treasonable felony in November 1962 and sentenced in September 1963 In March 1966, Awo wrote to Ironsi from prison asking to be released but was ignored by Ironsi. Between January 1966 and July 1966, Ironsi was Head of State while Ojukwu was Governor of the Eastern region. Gowon was sworn-in in the evening of July 30 1966 but made his announcement on August 1st. Obafemi Awolowo was released from prison on the 8th of August 1966; exactly 1 week after Gowon's ascension. Now talking about Achebe's memoir, that's his personal opinion. Socrates was right when he said that “what any man is saying or seeing is often a factor of where that man is sitting or standing at any given point” I will concede to Achebe that he probably drew his conclusion based on where he was sitting or standing when he made his observation, But there is more to what really happened in that war than the totality of what Chinua Achebe has stated in that book. Have you paused to consider what Azikiwe's role was in all these brouhaha? He also sided with Gowon at the most critical phase of the war. See there's enough blame to go round if we want to be realistic. Reading Achebe's book alone which of course is bound to lean towards the igbo tribe is not justifiable. You need to read from independent writers too before you can draw conclusions. |

fightforchange1: hahaha!Okay. I enjoy music and reading- Mo gbadun orin ati iwe kika. Love is all I need- Ife nikan ni mo fe. All people are welcome- Gbogbo eniyan laye gba. |
fightforchange1: mo igba dun ka ati Orin. ![]() I just smiled at this. But you are trying! With this determination you will understand the language in no time. Let me help you to re-constructure those sentenses: Mo n gbadun orin- I'm enjoying the music. Where: Mo-I n-its used to join words to make a continuous tense. gbadun- enjoy Orin- music Ife re nikan ni mofe-I want only your love. Where: Ife- love re-your Nikan- only Mofe- I want. Mo ti lo si raves ati ogo- Mo ti- I have Lo si- gone to Ati- and Ogo- glory. NB: you can see that I didn't translate it before outlining. That's because "raves" is English and i don't know what you meant to write. Gbogbo eniyan ni o wa- Everyone was there. Gbogbo-every Eniyan-people/human being Ni o wa- present/there. And the last one: Kaabo-meaning welcome. ![]() |
moonKayCho: Hello.Mo soro- I speak (present tense) Mo ti soro- I have spoken/ I had spoken (present perfect/ past perfect tense). Mo n soro- I am speaking(present continuous tense). Note that the 2nd and 3rd sentences has "ti" and "n" which changes the meaning. Happy learning ![]() |
babyosisi: ExactlyAnd you can't make a sound argument without being derogatory Shows your level of reasoning.Where in my post have i stated that my State's camp is the best? Now i understand your grouse. I didn't go to camp to take shots of filthy environment because i can't stay in such places. Did @obongtunji take shots of Cross River camp to prove his claim? No. Only a pig feel comfortable around dirts. |
obongtunji: This reminded me of my exprience when I served in Cross River state, I took tetra so that I can stay days without going to toilet and when I was ready to go to toilet I went to the town and pleaded with a man who took me to his house and from that day his house became my safe heaven. For those that said it is not state responsibility I don't agree with that. Katsina state has the best orientation camp in Nigeria and it was the then state governor's project Late Umaru Musa Yar'adua and all the facilities are still in good shape till date.Very good. Most camps in Nigeria are in a pitiable state which is bad. No one should single-out a camp as OP is trying to do. If everyone were to start taking shots of their various camps, you will be shocked. I think Jigawa state has the best camp though. |
babyosisi: Are you evading the question?Neither is there water in Enugu camp and the toilets are worst! Whose responsibility is that also? People should stop these LAME excuses to paint a particular State or Gov black abeg ![]() |
