fearNORTH: If a high ranking Yoruba man of this caliber can come to term with the reality that Buhari is a failure then the rantings of some pauperized NL members like Abagworo, Omenka, Ngeneukwuenu and Co should be disregarded. its a pity that someone like dele momodu supported buhari during election campaign. i mean someone that has wide knowledge about how things works in the western world decided to support someone who has bad past records and never upgrade himself academically since past 30yrs he left government house. As for those APC PAID AGENTS on NAIRALAND, the Almighty God has the best judgement for them for posting wrong information on social media to cause confusion & defend their paymaster to get daily crumbles. |

Politics › Niger Delta Avengers Bomb Bonny Crude Export Line by fuckyoumhen(op): 5:07pm On Sep 24, 2016 |
Niger Delta Avengers on Saturday said it had carried out another attack in the Niger Delta after halting hostilities in August for talks with the government. The militants, who said they attacked the Bonny crude export line on Friday night, have in previous months launched assaults which have cut crude production, which was 2.1 million barrels per day at the start of the year, by around a third. According to a statement on the group’s website it said it “brought down oil production activities at the Bonny 48 inches crude oil export line” through its “strike team”. ”On the 23rd September 2016, our strike team at 20:40PM hours time has brought down oil productions activities at the Bonny 48 inches crude oil Export Line. This action is a signature to the over dramatization of the so- called dialogue and negotiation process on the side of President Muhammadu Buhari and his government. Since, the cessation of hostilities and the commitment of the PAN Niger Delta Elders and stakeholders team, the Nigerian government and her agents are turning the expectations of the Niger Delta to shameful scenes obtainable in Nollywood acts and as well intimidations, blackmails and continuous profiling of Niger Delta sons and daughters. This is only a wake up call; we may not have other way to say it better. We are still in favour of the dialogue and negotiations but we are warning against ” the peace of our time! We want the peace with honour”. We will resist all actions undermining the ceasefire from side of the government and it security agents/ agencies. The world is watching, time is running against the Nigerian state; while we were promised that the concerns of Niger Delta will be addresses once a truce is declared, the activities of the government and her agents are not assuring enough, there has been no progress and no breakthrough. We cannot be continuously fooled, the government cannot justify the indiscriminate targeting of Niger Delta youths while glorifying on these victimization of law abiding citizens of the region http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/09/niger-delta-avengers-bomb-bonny-crude-export-line/ |

otukpo: It pains my heart to see the level of hatred we have for each other as being exhibited on this thread.
I read the initial post and really sympathised with the OP irrespective of what tribe he is.
But the comments or words we use against other tribes really hurts them and this is an eye opener for each and everyone of us.
I have been a member of nairaland for long and i know how nairlanders used to help one another not minding tribe. But what we are seeing today shows that things have changed for the worse.
I am Igbo and a Nigerian and we should love and sympathise with everyone.
Even a foreigner would not get the kind of cold treatment the OP is getting.
Lesson : Be mindful of other people's feeling and don't abuse them online or offline.
Don't mock or abuse other people's tribe. It hurts them and leaves an impression.
Drabeey, i pray help comes your way. No thanks to political jobbers and Seun who appoint biased mods |

Progressive01: Good evening.
I'd like to put this call across to all those who've got functional sensory organs to reign in their hatred for a man who's literally done no harm to them besides standing up against/defeating their preferred candidate in a contest before it results in them paying the ultimate price needlessly.
The world over, leaders are loved and hated by those whom they lead for reasons as diverse as the number of those who hate/love them- even Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Ghandi had people who despised them, squeaky clean as they were in character. That is a truism to which President Buhari isn't an exception. Those who love and hate such leaders have various means of demonstrating same depending on the nature of the society within which they live.
Today, news broke about the arrest of an Igbo trader who not only named his dog "Buhari" but went as far as boldly painting the same on both sides of the pet. He was said to have been arrested for "intent to breach public peace and instigate ethnic and religious unrest".
The incident took place in a predominantly Hausa/Muslim community and an APC state.
Now, as expected, the fanatical haters of anything Muslim/Buhari/North/Hausa/Fulani pounced on the security agencies for "violating the right of Mr Chinakwe", insisting he can "call his pet whatever name he pleases", "write whatever he wishes to write on it", and that "we are back in the dark ages of Military rule".
I really don't know how it happened but there's no gainsaying Jonathan's defeat did deal some people's intellect a fatal blow, otherwise, how else can one explain such idiocy??!!
Besides the fact the name of the father of the complainant is Buhari, that is also the President's name and it doesn't take a soothsayer to tell mr Chinakwe's intent was to spite the President and locals in the area. I must admit I was knocked sideways with the fact he wasn't lynched but rather reported to the authorities!
Knowing how much Muslims/Hausas/Northerners revere Buhari, isn't it the dumbest thing in the world what Chinakwe did?? Isn't it a shame some people are trying to justify his stupidity citing civil liberty?? Let me ask this question:
HOW WOULD MR CHINAKWE's FANS REACT IF I WENT ENUGU, RENT AN APARTMENT, GET ME A BINGO AND NAME IT OJUKWU AND WRITE SAME ON BOTH SIDES OF ITS BODY
Would they rally to my support insisting "I have the right to call my dog Ojukwu"?? Would they even call the police on me or kill me and have the police come take away my body??
This isn't the first time we are seeing this manner of misplaced hatred from these people. The other time, Asari Dokubo "turbaned" a dog the same day the Emir of Kano was being turbaned and uploaded the picture on the internet in spite of Sanusi, and the Chinwetas of this world ran wild with ecstacy- then I asked- how would these people feel if I wore my dog a red cap with a couple of feathers on it, put some heavy beads around its neck, cover it with a black suede cloth with elephant prints on it and declared IGWUEEEEEEE!!!!??
The Chinwetas and his fans outside and within this forum should mull over that for a moment.
This brand of opposition/agitation earns one absolutely nothing but damnation! We come on here and throw all kinds of jabs at each other, insult the heck out of each other, granted, some of that unnecessary. What we must try to always observe is the Red Line especially in the mainstreet.
We all know how fiercely defensive the typical Northerner is of his religion and political super-heavy-weights, we know they don't have the kind of restraint we do (which is why I said I'm surprised they handled the case the way they did) and as such must apply wisdom when dealing with them. Doing so doesn't make us cowards, no, to me that depicts cunning- there are ways you could tell one to eat your shiit and actually have them looking forward to eating it! You don't stand in the face of such people and say "Buhari is a dog" because you are brave, no, to me that is the height of stupidity. And whoever cheers such an act of yours on, you should see as your worst enemies!
My greatest foes around here are the South Easterners, for obvious reasons- I'm just about a fanatical Buhari supporter, a fanatical Jonathan/PDP/Nnamdi Kanu hater, and any comment critical of those three earns one serious knocks from their supporters who are mostly Igbos/South Easterners. Regardless, that doesn't stop me taking e-shots at their heads, but I'd be a FOOL to call Kanu, for instance, a Red Bonobo Monkey in a market in Aba!! Dem no go even see my body bury sef!
We may call whoever we like all manner of names on the internet- that is the virtual world- we can get away with that- Knowing when to apply restraint and caution in whatever we do is what sets us apart of primitive beasts in the jungle.
Chinweta went over the edge trying to make a point, but we are grateful for the timely involvement of the security agencies, a different tale we would have had in our hands had the case not gone the way it did. I'm pretty sure some people are saddened for the fact those offended by his act didn't take the law into their hands- to them, it is a missed opportunity to validate/justify/fortify their hatred for Buhari and poison the minds of other moderate South Easterners who've not been radicalised by the messages from Radio Biafra.
I hope justice prevails in the end.
God bless Nigeria. YORUBA MUSLIM AS USUAL |
Politics › Re: On Naming A Dog Buhari by fuckyoumhen: 12:18pm On Aug 17, 2016 |
illuminated93: I woke up to a thread with the caption"An Igbo Trader Arrested For Naming His Dog Buhari". https://www.nairaland.com/3293032/trader-arrested-naming-dog-buhari/8#48553955
This trader was arrested for not only calling his personal property buhari, but also inscribing the name buhari on both sides of his dog. He was arrested by the police for provocative behaviour capable of causing ethnic rivalry. The purpose of creating this thread is to use this particular scenario in comparing two countries (America and Nigeria) both practicing democracy and showing why they both advanced differently. Whatever judgement you reach after reading is a function of your IQ. In 2010,an American pastor in the person of Terry Jones threatened to burn the koran, reason being he thinks Islam is a religion from the devil. He was condemned internationally, one would think he would be getting arrested sooner than later for threatening public peace by the FBI,but no arrest was made. He wasn't arrested because America as a country understands the principle of rights and privileges. It took a phone call from President Barack Obama to Pastor Terry Jones, appealing to his sensibilities to understand the consequences of his action on the safety of U.S troops serving in the Middle East, the planned koran burning wasn't to be after this emotional phone call. Coming home, this igbo guy was arrested and kept in a cell, simply for naming his dog buhari, who is buhari? On a closing note,by now we should be able to tell why both countries developed differently. One understands the conversation of dialogue, the other understands the conversation of force. We can see the conversation of force in the way ipob, nda, this igbo trader cases are being handled.
Mynd44, reading this might help your sensibilities. Btw,i never insulted you. Gracias! Cc: Cheruv Conqueredwest Adaure4ever Israeliairforce Idupaul Tonyebarcanista Seun Temitemi1 Firefire Severusnape mynd44 will do everything to defend buhari and and its unfortunate. sometimes I wonder if those people who always support evil act perpetuated under this administration has human blood in their veins. A chimpanzee was named HARUNA back then in Ibadan zoo, whereas a popular musician( Late Haruna Ishola) bears that name and nobody makes any trouble out of that . |
Politics › Re: Nigerian Honk For Hunger! Are They Truly Hungry? by fuckyoumhen: 1:40pm On Aug 13, 2016 |
oyinkinola: It's a common slogan today in nigeria, 'no food on the table' everybody say we are hungry, are nigerian truly in hunger or is just slogan like other, used to embarrass the government? Then if there is hunger today who to blame? are we warn? what is the causes? and the remedy. Imf, world bank and other monetary institution reveal that nigerian, especially the poor...70% of the population live below poverty line...$1 = ₦400. However, low income...₦400, love of $ lead to falling value of ₦, hereby hike the price of commodity, falling price of oil lead to low income revenue, cut in production of oil to nearly 2/3, cut in currency denomination to 1/3 in circulation, security threat that lead to insecurity of food product, all lead to inflation. With ₦400 you can only buy a product worth ₦1,₦2,₦4,₦5,₦8 to have a fair price with out been cheated, with a product worth ₦3,₦6,₦7,₦9 you are cheated and if we have the least worth and active denomination in circulation equal or nearest to the least price product in the market, that the cheated amount will be minimal! 1polybag =₦1.40k; same thing happen to all products sell in 3 units per ₦5! so why ₦1 is not in circulation? and why ₦1 which is the official amount of our currency know to all the monetary institution and the base of our money known globally missing in circulation? To ease the hardship and the effect of recession on poor, we must protected them against fraud and cheating of the most needed money in their wallet! if the federal government can block the loop-hole in the national treasury, why can't we block the cheating in market by injecting the missing currency that open the wallet of poor for wicked marketers who milked them dry with a slogan(no change pls). in cheating the market we are killing ₦5, if it's die, we will move to ₦10, sooner or later we will render ₦10 worthless and so on, and so on ! This must be stop to let the poor have exact value of the currency in wallet. go school, you no gree . |
