Health / Re: Complications Arising From Circumcision by FufuKing1(m): 8:22am On Dec 03, 2011
There's always the option of not subjecting a newborn infant to such unnecessary complications. Boys are not circumcised in Europe, Latin America and most of Asia and they go on to lead normal and healthy lives. In fact, Africa is the ONLY continent in which a majority of boys/men are cut.

Unthinkable!
Why hurt a baby with unnecessary and painful procedure?

Why don't you ask the people who circumcise their baby boys?

Very sad you're asking people to share your myopic views.

bloody nonsense if you don't like her avoid her films

Why now? Not all of the films that she is in are bad. Like I said, White Waters was a wonderful film.

I just dislike having to stare at her bovine face and watch anxiously as whatever item she has sitting on her head holds on for dear life. Plus, her acting is one-note. Not that that's always a bad thing in Nollywood, but her one-note routine is dull and boring.

TV/Movies / Can We Throw Rita Dominic Into A Cave? by FufuKing1(m): 11:13am On Jan 04, 2009
Please? Can we lock her up somewhere cold and dark and throw away the key?

She's very unattractive and not a very good actress at all. Not to mention she's bald-headed and I'm not sure what kind of horrors we would be subjected to if she didn't have access to the wigs that she has.

I recently saw "White Waters" and it was an amazing film. But it would've been much better if someone other than Rita had played the female lead.

Anybody else with me?! smiley

Some how, I have noticed that most of your posts are not contributive but critisizing other people's post. . .
that would have been excellent had you been suggesting contributive ideas with your critism.
LOL! T-Bag, what would you like me to clarify exactly?

And what contributive idea did you want me to give to this topic? It's a topic full of opinions, I'm merely throwing mine in with the rest.

What's your own now? If I quote somebody and disagree with their statement, that is not a contribution?

for men yes its cleaner . . . especially for younger boys who don't pay so much attention to hygeine.

This is a lie from the pit of hell.

Every man, cut penis or uncut, needs to WASH his genitals regularly in the shower. The same way you wash your ass. The idea that circumcised men don't need to wash their penis, or that it is lower maintenance, is absolutely absurd. No wonder STDs are so rampant.

plappville:

You are right, CIRCUMCISED MALE IS THE BEST AND STRESS FREE,
I have tested the both because my first lover wasn't circumcised it was very diffucult for me during love making, because i am used to circumcised male as it is a tradition in africa, in some part of the europe it's very rare to find a circumcised male because doctors kick against it.

they said that the foreskin is the source of all manner of illnesses and disease, that optimum emotional and physical health is achieved by avoiding circumcision, protection from infection by oligosaccarides from breast milk, others sees it as a babaric art etc

FOR ME NA STORY them DEY TELL.

Hubby was circumcised because he had some problems when he was 5yrs old so medical reports instructed the foreskin to be cut off, this made him a circumcised man today.

As i am talking here, we have two kids both are male and they are not circumcised, i wanted it done but hubby, his family and my kids pediate kicked against it, who am i to take this decision alone, angry there is a law in France both parents must agree before the child can be circumcised.

And if one parent doens not agree the other can press charges, this can led to imprisonment. sad
So i had to let go, maybe when they grow up they will do it themselves because its very ugly and needs frequent toileting.

God bless your husband, his family and the doctors of France.

You, unfortunately, are an idiot and have as much common sense as a doorknob.

Someone mentioned moral victory. . . I'm just going to curiously ask this question to everyone. What are the moral implications of tribal marks? What makes tribal markings morally good or morally wrong? Take your time and answer. I'm only curious to hear what people have to say about the morality of the issue.

It is morally wrong to permanently scar and alter the body of a child against their will. Period.

And I'm sorry, but good for your cousin. What her mother did to her was wrong and she needs to apologize to her daughter. She had no right to do what she did to her.

Those family members to me are not evil and wicked. They were merely doing what they have been taught, what have been passed down to them and is generally accepted to be good.In some places, its believed that an uncircumcised woman dies at childbirth and an uncircumcised female baby grows up to be promiscuous.what we do really need is education and enlightenment.i wonder what those first ladies and women affairs commission do,these ought to be the kind of things they should be doing. . . .teaching, educating and enlightening.
Sad story Sha.Omobola seems to be a strong woman.she atleast fought for herself. Its very unfortunate that she lost her daughter. sad

How can there be education and enlightenment when many Nigerians believe the exact same fables and myths about uncircumcised men?

If a man isn't circumcised, some will say that he will die, he won't produce offspring, he won't be strong, he's not a MAN etc.

Culture needs to stop at other people's genitals. No one, male or female, should have their Instruments cut unless they want to.

People in Angola and Sao Tome have their own version of Brazilian Portuguese. Those are languages that started out being "improper" versions of the original language.

I'm sorry, but WHAT?

LOL! The Portuguese spoken in Sao Tome and Angola is NOT Brazilian Portuguese. It's Portuguese!

And there is a huge, huge difference between regional accents and regional vocabulary and a pidgin or creole language.
I want to advance the view that both practices are equally objectionable.
Your view is the ethically correct one.

Unfortunately, many on nairaland believe that the only desirable penis is a cut and scarred one. Circumcised men perpetuate circumcision because if they didn't, they might have to come to grips with the fact they were violated without their consent.

You can watch the whole interview here:

http://falecerto..com/2008/05/dimeji-bankole-bbc.html

It is absolutely criminal that this buffoon is the speaker for the House. He was so combative, rude and evasive. He feels as if he and the Nigerian government are above reproach. Look at how he spun and swerved when he was asked about the fairness of the elections. He said that the losers of the election will always claim it was unfair, but it wasn't the losers who were complaining! These were objective, non-partision, internation electoral observers! Shame.

@fufu: u have dispalyed the highest sense of immaturity and stupidity. Like i said haters should not stop, continue to show your silliness and stupidity.

When will you allow it into your thick skulls that not all Muslims supports her incarceration/execution, she's not a muslim therefore the sharia will not be apply on her. No one is giving any excuse, what i am saying particularly is that lok at issues whoistically

If I have displayed immaturity and stupidity, then I don't know what it is you can call what the people of Sudan are displaying right now. Mental retardation, perhaps? Severe brain rot?

And you say that not all Muslims support her execution/incarceraton, so WHY IS NO ONE SPEAKING OUT? Why aren't people condemning these dangerous psychophants calling for the death of a woman over a teddy bear named Muhammad? Why the silence?

Seun:

This is cute, but even that statement would incur the wrath of a muslim because muslims don't worship Muhammad. Another difference is that muslims often bear the name "Muhammad" which means they see it as just a name whereas Christians don't bear the name "Jesus". This whole crisis is completely irrational.

Actually there are many people in Latin America named Jesus. It's a very common name.

We give Biblical names to everyone and everything. No one cares, no one is bothered by it. Christians are just not motivated to violence over things like this like Muslims are.

I have to say, in recent year, I have developed a strong dislike and distaste for the religion of Islam. They are ravenous, authoritarian dogs. They are actually calling for the execution of this woman. What kind of religion of peace is this? But then again, she should've known that there was nothing good to be found in Sudan.

You reasoning is counterproductive! it doesn't reinforce you conclusion. because one baby die out of every 100000 thousand or more, does that mean we should outlaw male circumcision. should we outlaw driving because it leads to grievous bodily damage? No! your are more likely to die changing into or out of your cloth than from male circumcision.

We did it for girls. The vast majority of women survived female circumcision just fine, but when one died, the case was blown up and the practice was outlawed.

So I ask again:

How come when a girl dies from female circumcision, people call for the procedure to be outlawed, but when a male dies, no one says anything?
Nigerian baby bled to death after botched circumcision

By: thinkSPAIN

The results of an autopsy performed on an 18 day old baby boy who died in suspicious circumstances in Tarragona last weekend, reveal that the baby died of massive blood loss following a botched circumcision thought to have been performed by the baby's mother, who has been questioned, but not arrested.

The incident occurred at around 9.30pm last Sunday evening at the home of the boy's parents, a Nigerian couple, who live in Tarragona's Pilar district.
